Abstract

Cordia myxa L .leaf is a plant from Boraginaceae family which is traditionally used as medicine of several skin diseases . The purpose of thid research is to know the chemical compound antioxidant activity of ethanolic extract of Cordia myxa L. leaf. The used extraction method was maceration method using 70% as solvent. Identification of coumpound group used  color reaction and  precipitation method respectively. While antioxidant activity test used free radical scavenging method of DPPH (1,1-dyphenyl-2 pycril Hydrazil). From the extraction result, that was found that %redamen of ethanolic extract of  Cordia myxa L .leaf 2.76%. While the determination of chemical compound showed that ethanolic extcract of  Cordia myxa L .leaf containing steroid, flavonoid, saponin, and phenol. The result antioxidant activity assay showed that ethanolic extract of Cordia myxa L .leaf has intermediate free antiradical activity with IC50 value 54.92 µg/mL. But it is potensial is lower than Quarcetin which has IC50 value 0.52 µg/mL.

Abstract

The research had been conducted about the analysis of antioxidant activity of yodium (Jatropha multifida L.) leaves using cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity to determine the existance of antioxidant activity and to measure the antioxidant capacity in yodium (Jatropha multifida L.) leaves ethanolic extract using CUPRAC method. It was experimental research using CUPRAC method to prove the existance of antioxidant activity of yodium (Jatropha multifida L.) leaves. It was started by extracting the leaves using maseration using ethanol 96% solvent. The resulted extracts were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively by adding CuCl2 solution, neucuproin, NH4Ac buffer system which were measured in UV-Visible spectrophotometer and analyzed at a wavelength of 450 nm. Based on data analysis, it was found that the askorbat acid equivalent (AAE) presentage of yodium (Jatropha multifida L.) leaves was 0.7385 ± 0.0521 mg L-1 AA g-1 extract.

Abstract

Abstract

Have been conducted by a obstetrical research of vitamin C at juicy tuber by spectrophotometry UV – Vis.  The research aim to determine and compare the content of vitamin C from juicy tuber. Firstly fruit of juicy tuberare cleared by their seed then it weighed after that it enhanced by oxilate acid 0.4% and than it blended and filtered. Filtrat obtained to qualitative analyze by using the react specific and standarization of vitamin C using the spectrophotometry UV – Visible at wave legth 516 nm obtained rate of mean vitamin C that is juicy tuber yaitu 91.97 mg/100g.

Abstract

Antioxidant are chemical compounds that can donate one or more electrons to free radicals, so that the free radical reaction is inhibited. Generally, the compounds that have potential as an antioxidant are flavonoids, phenolics and alkaloids. Leaves of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) are plants that contain alkaloid. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of leaves of fruit tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. pyriforme Alef.) and leaves of vegetable tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. commune Bailey.) with DPPH method (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picryl Hydrazil). Ethanol extract is obtained by extracting the leaves of friut tomato powder (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. pyriforme Alef.) and the leaves of vegetable tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. commune Bailey.) with maceration. Antioxidant activity was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with maximum absorption wavelength is 514 nm. Readable absorbance is used to calculate % inhibition and IC50. The results showed that the samples of the leaves of fruit tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. pyriforme Alef.) and leaves of vegetable tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. commune Bailey.) have antioxidant activity with IC50 values of each of 279.482 µg/mL and 280.190 µg/mL. This shows the ethanol extract of leaves of fruit tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. pyriforme Alef.) and leaves of vegetable tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill, var. commune Bailey.) has a very weak activity as an antioxidant.
