Abstract

The development of the internet of things occurs because of the Wireless Sensor Network. NRF24l01 is one of the communication modules used in the Wireless Sensor Network. The NRF24l01 communication range is suitable for use in homes and building. NRF24l01 can be implemented in daily activities for example turning off and on lamp. Sometimes there are lamp that are not installed in the lamp fitting and it is unknown when going to turn on the lamp. With this research, slave nodes are made as a driving force to turn on or off the lamp and use electric and infrared current sensors to find out whether there are lamp and nodes sink/gateways that connect the slave nodes to the smartphone application. Communication between slave node and sink/gateway node uses NRF24l01. Communication between sink/gateway node and smartphone application uses the concept of internet of things by using the MQTT protocol to manage its communication and cloudMQTT as a broker that stores data temporarily from these communications. This research uses a plug and play method that is applied when it is first turned on, the slave node will send an introduction to the sink/gateway node to get the address and the sink/gateway node will send the available address. The test results prove that the distance between the slave node and the sink/gateway node affects the delay of sending data, then the reference whether there is a lamp or not is the change in electric current and infrared sensors that detect objects.

Abstract

Ker is a mobile-based application with an Android operating system that was inaugurated by the Malang city government in order to harmonize with the President of the Republic of Indonesia's regulations related to electronic-based government systems (SPBE) as well as towards smart city. The Ker application was made with the primary purpose of supporting and facilitating public services for people in the city of Malang. Based on the results of interviews and observations of 20 respondents, there are problems in the application of Ker related to usability problems. The problem is the existence of a function key and process that is not in accordance with what users expect from the application. Therefore, a study was conducted to determine the usability level of the Ker application. Usability testing is used to measure the level of usefulness of the aspects of effectiveness and efficiency, while the usability scale (SUS) questionnaire is used to determine the level of usefulness of the satisfaction aspect. The results showed that the level of usefulness from the aspect of effectiveness increased 5.13%, the aspect of efficiency 35.91%, and satisfaction by 16.42. If based on Sauro's SUS score (2018), the acceptable range that was previously in the "Marginal" category increased by one level above "Acceptable", for adjective rating that was previously included in the "Ok" category, rose one level to "Good", as well as for the grade scale that previously received the value "C" increased two levels to "A".

Abstract

The provision of accessibility of public facilities is necessary to realize equal rights for people with disabilities. To fulfill this, the Research and Community Service Agency of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Brawijaya proposes the Disability-Friendly Motorcycles (Toradi) project. Toradi is a motorcycle that has been modified by adding a sidecar that functions as a pillion and is designed to be easily accessed by people with disabilities. They also want Toradi to become an online transportation business because so far people with disabilities have experienced difficulties when using online transportation services that are already available. The difficulty is due to drivers who often refuse orders when they know their condition. Therefore in this research, an Android-based online transportation application will be built which can connect the disabled people with Toradi and making it easier for them to do mobility. The application development uses a prototyping method that helps developers to explore system requirements more easily. The application was developed using the Kotlin programming language with an object-oriented approach. Then the application is tested with functional testing and compatibility testing. Functional test results indicate that the application is valid. The compatibility test results show the application can run on Android devices with a version above 5. Furthermore, the application is evaluated by the user based on the system acceptance criteria and gets a value of 93.6% which can be concluded that the application can be well received by the user.

Abstract

Vocational high schools, especially ICT majors often use e-learning as a learning medium. Talking about ICT majors in Vocational High Schools will definitely learn about programming. Currently there are many applications in PlayStore that can be used to learn programming, one of which is the HUB Programming application. HUB Programming Application is an application on android devices for learning programming. However, many HUB Programming applications get negative reviews. The purpose of this research is to see how well, provide recommendations for improvement and can be taken into consideration by learning media. UX Honeycomb is used to measure the user experience of the HUB Programming application. The number of sample respondents used was 30 and were students of TKJ Class X SMK 3 MALANG who had used e-learning and had knowledge about e-learning. The method used is to spread online questionnaires by taking quantitative and qualitative data. Descriptive statistics are used to process and analyze data by finding the mean (mean) and variation of the data (standard deviation). The results of processing and analysis show that the Usable aspect has an average value of 69% and is in the good category, the Valuable aspect has an average value of 69% and is in the good category, while the Useful aspect has an average value of 72% and is in the category well

Abstract

Parents need to pay attention on a diet of a toddler because of the food that being consumed during infancy greatly influences the growth and development of the toddler as well as the mother of the toddler who are still breastfeeding where the quality of the breast milk also greatly influences toddler growth. The lack of attention on a food that being consumed by toddler can cause various kinds of disease complication because of toddler body that still vulnerable and prone to infections, malnutrition, or obesity. This research will implement evolution strategies algorithm to obtain recommendations for the composition of the most optimal nutritional diets that can meet daily nutritional needs that did not exceed the daily limits for toddlers and breastfeeding mothers. The main cycle used in this study is the ES cycle (μ + λ) and three other ES cycles as comparison. Based on the results of tests conducted using the ES cycle (μ + λ) for a data of toddler and breastfeeding mothers on the parameters of μ = 10, λ = 100, and generation = 250, the best fitness result obtained are 0.225070 which recommendation are close to the daily nutritional needs of toddler and breastfeeding mother.

Abstract

Gum candy is a pretty much food forth by the Indonesian society because rawish gum can increase concentration and can also remove stress. Many types of taste contained in gum is and every person have a kind of favorite taste in different gum. In one container of rubber candy that has been issued by the factory or which is contained in the store has been mixed with various sense of gum. And make people hard to choose the type of sense of rubber gum according to the preferred. Therefore, the design prototype of the taste classification process in gum candy using K-Nearest Neighbor method. In this study using TCS3200 color sensor connected with arduino nano microcontroller. This sensor will later read every color on gum. The method used in this study is K-Narest Neighbor for calculation of classification on gum. From the test results that have been made there is a percentage of error of the TCS3200 color sensor reading of 0.23%. The result of testing on the casification of the rawish casification class by using the K-Narest Neighbor method with 10 times tested obtained 90% accuracy and average computing time of 3.1494 seconds.

Abstract

Human voices vary from person to person. Men usually have larger vocal folds than women so their voice tend to be lower. Today virtual assistant and voice-based chatbot are still unable to differentiate gender based on human voice whereas if the user's gender could be known we can use it to understand behaviours of a particular gender. Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) version 1 is used in this research as a method to classify human voices with two classes which are male and female. Sound characteristics that used as features in this research are energy, zero crossing rate, entropy of energy, spectral centroid, spectral spread, spectral entropy, spectral flux, and spectral rolloff. Highest result are at 75,5% when using 10 as maximum epoch, 0.1 as learning rate, and Normalized Cross Correlation as similarity measurement. Accuracy when using Normalized Cross Correlation to measure similarity is at 75,5% thus making it higher compared to Euclidean distance and Manhattan distance which only get 74,4% accuracy both. This research also tested using K-fold Cross Validation with 5 folds and highest accuracy obtained when testing fourth fold at 75,6%. Therefore, this research also used Recursive Feature Elimination to determine impacts of sound features on accuracy resulting best feature is spectral entropy whilst worst features are zero crossing rate, spectral rolloff, and spectral centroid.

Abstract

Most human activities are carried out by hand. These activities can be well carried out if the items we carry are sufficient in the capacity of our hands, both in quantity and weight. But if the items we carry are too many or large, the activity will be difficult. To solve this problem, we need a system that is able to make these activities easier. In this research, a robot is designed to follow a human. This robot is called object following robot. Using this robot, humans can carry things hands-free. The working principle of the robot is to detect the object by using a proximity sensor and to keep the robot's distance from the object using the PID controller. The robot uses three ultrasonic sensors HC-SR04 as its proximity sensors. These sensors are placed in front, right front, and left front of the robot. Data from the sensor is processed using a PID controller embedded in arduino uno. The output generated from the PID controller is a PWM that will be connected to a DC motor. Meanwhile, to determine the direction of movement of the robot used condition selection from three sensors. Based on the test results, the robot can keep a distance from the object and follow the movement of the object. The settling time (ts) of this robot with a set point of 35 cm is about 1 second. The test result shows that the robot works well, with a relatively fast response time.

Abstract

The formation of a family in Islam is very upholding the problem of nasab or heredity, to support this it is necessary to have effective management of family tree information. One of the technologies that can support this is the FamilySearch Tree application, which is a genealogy software based on mobile application to create family structures digitally. An evaluation is needed to find out the advantages and disadvantages of application to the needs of Muslims, especially in terms of usability. The usability components tested were effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. This study uses the usability testing method and the filling out of the Single Ease Question (SEQ) and System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. This study is also useful to explore whether this application can meet the needs of Muslims about the text that is obtained from filling out the Close Ended questionnaire. This research is primarily quantitative. Participants in this study are generation Z with an age range of 13-25 years, totaling 30 who are new users of the FamilySearch Tree application and are Muslim. Usability testing is done to determine the effectiveness and efficiency components while filling out the questionnaire to determine the satisfaction component. Evaluation results show the effectiveness (completion rate) component yields 64.45%, which means it is low with the resulting error component being 42,03% which is still considered reasonable. In the efficiency component, the value is 0.030 goals / sec and 67.55%. And the satisfaction component of the SUS questionnaire is 39.1. For the closed ended questionnaire results obtained 57% which means this application has been able to meet the needs of Muslims about nasab. Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a wireless network that requires there are at least two interconnected nodes to communicate using wireless communication modules. One of the communication modules that has low power consumption and a considerable distance is the Long Range (LoRa). However, the limitations of LoRa that only uses single wireless hop communication creates problems when implementing LoRa networks to reach dark spots or areas that are difficult to reach by the network. Therefore, this research applies multi-hop communication using controlled flooding method. The application of controlled flooding method uses several mechanisms to resolve problems in the flooding method in general. There are mechanism of preventing infinite loop transmission, random delay mechanism, and packet retransmission mechanism. After testing, it was found that the infinite loop transmission prevention mechanism was successful in resolving the same packet forwarding over and over again. In addition, the packet retransmission mechanism for resolving if a packet lost is also successful. Then the performance test results show that the random delay mechanism is able to cut the percentage of packet loss. The test results show when using a random delay mechanism the packet loss results are 18%. Whereas when without using the random delay mechanism the packet loss results are 54%.
