Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mempelajari dinamika komunitas tumbuhan pada ekosistem batas Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang. Metode yang digunakan adalah plot penelitian ditempatkan secara sistematik dengan bantuan garis transek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang terdapat 15 spesies dan 12 famili fase semai, 15 spesies dan 13 famili fase pancang, 24 spesies dan 18 famili fase tiang, 27 spesies dan 20 famili fase pohon, di luar Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang terdapat 16 spesies dan 13 famili fase semai, 19 spesies dan 16 famili fase pancang, 21 spesies dan 18 famili fase tiang, serta 24 spesies dan 17 famili fase pohon. Dominasi spesies di dalam Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang fase semai dan pancang pada nantu (Palaquium obtusifolium) sebesar 40,19% dan 41,79%, fase tiang pada sirih hutan (Piper aduncum) sebesar 61,56%, dan fase pohon pada kemiri (Aleurites moluccana) sebesar 38,25%, di luar Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang fase semai dan pancang pada nantu (Palaquium obtusifolium) sebesar 42,72% dan 35,77%, fase tiang pada sirih hutan (Piper aduncum) sebesar 28,21%, fase pohon pada kemiri (Aleurites moluccana) sebesar 42,12%. Perubahan yang terjadi dalam komunitas tumbuhan pada ekosistem batas Cagar Alam Gunung Ambang mengalami perubahan penyusun pertumbuhan spesies, baik dari segi populasi, sebaran spesies maupun dominasi spesies dalam suatu komunitas. Abstract

ABSTRAC The aim of this research are; to describe community perception and participation; analyze social and economy factors that influence perception and participation of community of the land and forest rehabilitation programme in East Bolaang Mongondow District. This research was conducted using survay analysis approach. Furthermore,analysis of perception and participation using Likert Scale. Survay was conducted to 102 respondents in 3 Sub Districts inculuding 7 villages in East Bolaang Mongondow District. The results of the research shows that perception level of respondents to the forrest and its function are 48% highly perception, medium perception 45.1 %, and 6.9 % low perception. Furthermore, perception level of respondents to the land and rehabilitation programme are 51% highly perception, medium perception 35%, and 10% respondents low perception. Rank Spearman Correlation analysis shows that perception level influenced by the education level.  Analysis results of the participation level shows that 36.27 % highly perception, 34.31 % medium perception, and 29.41 % low perception. Rank Spearman Correlation analysis also shows that participation level influenced by the education level of the respondents. Keywords : perception, participation, land rehabilitation

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aimed to identify important pests which attack sweet potato in the field. Field and laboratory research were conducted. The field research was carried out in sweet potato cropping areas in Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa regency and  Tomohon. The laboratory research was conducted in plant pests and disease laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture Sam Ratulangi University Manado to idedntify the important pest species which were found on sweet potato plants. The duration of the study was four months starting from December 2010 until March 2011. Survey method was applied with purposive random sampling.  The research was used 4 period of plant growth namely 1 month, 2 months,3 months, and 4-5 months after planting. The result showed that there were five orders identified, attacking sweet potato since the age of 1-4 months in Minahasa regency, Tomohon and North Minahasa regency. The five orders were Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, Lepidoptera, and Coleoptera. The damage on the leaves were caused by pests coreidae, Cicadelidae, Spodoptera sp (Noctuidae), Valanga sp (Acrididae), and Oxya sp. (Acrididae), whereas on the stem was Omphisa sp (Pyralidae). Damage on the tuber was caused by Gryllotalpa sp (Gryllotalpidae), Cylas formicarius (Curculionidae) and Oryctes sp (Dynastidae). Key words : Important Pest Plant Sweet Potatoes, Ipomea batatas L.

Abstract

ABSTRACT South Minahasa Regency have a topography that varied from lowland to highland. Until now there has been no research on differences in the performance of agroforestry systems of lowland and highland agroecological zones. The purposes of this study were to analyze the diversity of plant species and to estimate the biomass amount of agroforestry systems at lowland and highland agroecological zones. The research was carried out from October to December 2017 at two different agroecological zones, namely; the highland (Mokobang Village) and the lowland (Blongko Village). The results showed that there were 21 plant species at lowland having 4 plant species in average, while 30 plant species were found in the highland with 6 plant species in average. The biomass of 0.25 to 13.11 Mg ha-1 with an average of 3.47 Mg ha-1 was found at lowland, whereas the highland contained 0.34 to 98.65 Mg ha-1 with an average of 27.40 Mg ha-1 biomass. It is concluded that in South Minahasa Regency the highland agroforestry system had more plant species and had more carbon sequestration than that of lowland.Keywords : agroforestry, highland zone, lowland zone

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research aims to produce a shorter cloves and generate more interest and qualified by the presence of paclobutrazol treatment. The results showed that the high accretion paclobutrazol can produce the content of chlorophyll a (0,032 mg g-1) and chlorophyll b (0,004 mg g-1), dry weight of 1000 grains (207 g) and dry weight / plant (6.038 kg) was 8 years old clove higher than the control. Recommended further research to determine the maximum effect of paclobutrazol application on plants. Paclobutrazol at a dose of 2.5 g / tree height increment can deliver maximum results of cloves. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed to identify the growth and production model of hybrid maize in each treatments of nitrogen application and tassel trimming. This research was carried out in field experiment in Tountimomor Village of Kakas District in Minahasa Regency.  The result of this research showed that this model could stimulate the growth and production of maize with the total biomass of 8000 kg/ha. Optimum leaf nitrogen of 1.6 % at 49 day after cultivate. The highest leaf biomass from field measurement was reached in nitrogen fertilizing of 92 kg/ha. The highest tassel biomass from field measurement was obtained in treatment trimming which was 4 gr/ha. Keywords : Growth  Model, Production, Maize,  Nitrogen, Tassel Trimming ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pertumbuhan dan model produksi dari jagung hibrida dalam tiap-tiap perlakuan pemberian nitrogen dan pemangkasan tassel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan di desa Tountimomor Kecamatan Kakas Kabupaten Minahasa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa model dapat menstimulasi pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung dengan jumlah biomassa 8000 kg/ha. Nitrogen daun optimum adalah 1,6% pada 49 hari setelah ditanam. Biomassa daun tertinggi didapat pada pemberian Nitrogen sebesar 92 kg/ha. Biomassa tassel tertinggi dari pengukuran lapangan didapat dalam perlakuan pemangkasa tassel sebanyak 4gr/ha. Kata kunci: Model pertumbuhan, Produksi, Jagung, Nitrogen, Pemangkasan Tassel.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The study aimed to: (1) know the type of pests and predator that lived during the growth and production of strawberry plants, (2) know the populations of pests associated to the strawberry plants during vegetative and generative development stages until harvest time. The methodology used was Descriptive Method. Sampling the pests associated to strawberry plants was taken by the Method of Deliberate (Purposive Sampling Method). In the vegetative stage, the plants were in 2-10 weeks after planting, and the generative stage of flowering plants until harvest time, or age 11-20 weeks after planting. The results showed that, the pests on strawberry plants growth and development in both vegetative and generative stages, i.e.: seven order were included in nine families, those were: order Orthoptera with Acrididae and Grylotalpidae families; order Coleoptera with Curculionidae and Chrysomelidae families; order Lepidoptera with Pyralidae families; order Diptera with Drosophilidae families; order Homoptera with Aphididea families; order Acari with Tetranychidae families, and order Mollusca. There were six types of pests which destroyed the leaves on  the vegetative phase, i.e.: Acida turita, Locusta sp., Valanga nigricornis, Chrysocus auratus, Tetranychus sp. and Aphis sp., and a kind of destructive root, that was Gryllotalpha sp. There were 11 types of pests in the generative phase, consisted of: a) six pest species destroyed the leaf, i.e.: Acida turita, Locusta sp., Valanga nigricornis, Chrysocus auratus, Tetranychus sp., and Aphis sp.; b) two kinds of fruit pests, those were : Drosphila sp. and Filicaulis bleekeri, c) as well as a type of root pest was Gryllotalpha sp. Abstract

Identification using morphological characters has time consuming. Currently, identification usingmolecular markers has now been popular due to rapid, saving time and more precisely. Superjohnpotato variety has been cultivated in North Sulawesi. However, the Superjohn potato variety has notbeen characterized using molecular markers. This research was aiming to identify ―Superjohn‖ potatobased on RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) markers. The research was conducted in fieldand laboratory. Field research was performed by taking some young leaves from ―Superjohn‖, Granola,and Atlantic variety from the field. Identification using molecular marker was conducted at laboratory.Nine RAPD primers were used to identify the superjohn variety. The nine primers were OPA-1, OPA-2,OPA-3, OPA-4, OPA-5, OPA-7, OPA-9, OPA-10, and OPO-1. The molecular identification revealedthat ―Superjohn‖ variety was different with Granola and Atlantic. OPA-9700 primer could be used foridentification ―Superjohn‖ variety while OPA-101000 primer was suitable for identification Granolavariety.Keywords: Potatoes, variety, “Superjohn”, Granola, Atlantic, and RAPD ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentikasi kentang ―Superjohn‖ berdasarkan penanda RAPD(Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA). Kemudian analisis DNA dilakukan di laboratorium menggunakan analisis RAPD.Berdasarkan penanda RAPD ternyata kentang ―Superjohn‖ berbeda dari kentang Granola dan kentangAtlantik. Penanda RAPD OPA-9700 dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kentang―Superjohn‖ danpenanda RAPD OPA-101000 dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kentang Granola.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know the interest of Thrips sp. on various colored traps. This research has been conducted on farmers' land in Kakaskasen II Village, Tomohon City. The study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with the following treatment: (A) pink trap; (B) yellow trap; (C) blue trap; (D) green trap and (E) white trap.  Each treatment was replication three times. The results showed that Thrips sp. more interested in yellow traps than green, blue, white and pink traps. Average population of Thrips sp. fluctuates at first to seventh observations. The highest population was found in the yellow trap, the second observation was 134.67 and the fifth observation was 118.33.Keywords :  Thrips sp., Thysanoptera, Thripidae, color sticky trap   ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui ketertarikan dari hama Thrips sp. pada berbagai perangkap berwarna.  Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada lahan petani di Desa Kakaskasen II, Kota Tomohon.  Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan perlakuan sebagai berikut : (A) Perangkap berwarna merah muda; (B) Perangkap berwarna kuning; (C) Perangkap berwarna biru; (D) Perangkap berwarna hijau dan (E) Perangkap berwarna putih.  Masing-masing perlakuan diulang tiga kali.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hama Thrips sp. lebih tertarik pada perangkap berwarna kuning dibandingkan dengan perangkap warna hijau, biru, putih dan merah muda.  Rataan populasi Thrips sp. berfluktuasi pada pengamatan pertama sampai ketujuh.  Populasi tertinggi dijumpai pada perangkap berwarna kuning yakni pada pengamatan kedua (134,67 ekor) dan pengamatan kelima (118,33 ekor).Kata kunci :  Thrips sp., Thysanoptera, Thripidae, perangkap berwarna

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study aims to determine the response of sweet corn plants of urea fertilizer and the provision of Paclobutrazol. Randomized trials using Design Group (RAK) Factorial pattern. The experiments are a factor I (A): Nitrogen fertilizer, Ao = Without fertilization, A1 = 100 kg N / ha, A2 = 200 kg N / ha, and Factor II (B): The concentration of Paclobutrazol ie, Bo = Without Paclobutrazol, B1 = 500 ppm, B2 = 1000 ppm. Variables observed were: 1) Higher Plants, 2) The number of leaves. Data were analyzed using a variety of analysis followed by LSD 5%. The results showed that the interaction between nitrogen fertilizer and Paclobutrazol is not significant  on sweet corn plants but interaction on the number of leaves. Paclobutrazol independently affect the height of sweet corn plants. Giving Paclobutrazol 500 ppm and 1000 ppm to corn plants are shorter than without Paclobutrazol. Percobaan acak menggunakan Design Group (RAK) pola faktorial. Percobaan adalah faktor I (A): pupuk Nitrogen e Ao = Tanpa pembuahan, A1 = 100 kg N / ha, A2 = 200 kg N / ha, dan Faktor II (B): Konsentrasi Paclobutrazol yaitu, Bo = Tanpa paclobutrazol, B1 = 500 ppm, B2 = 1000 ppm. Variabel yang diamati adalah: 1) Tanaman tinggi, 2) Jumlah daun. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan berbagai analisis diikuti oleh Uji Perbedaan Terkecil Real (LSD) 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara pupuk nitrogen dan Paclobutrazol tidak nyata pada tinggi tanaman jagung manis tapi interaksi nyata pada jumlah daun. Paclobutrazol mempengaruhi tinggi tanaman jagung manis. Pemberian Paclobutrazol 500 ppm dan 1000 ppm memberikan tanaman jagung lebih pendek daripada tanpa Paclobutrazol.
