Abstract

One of the professional competences of mathematics teacher is the ability of mathematical problem solving. At high school level, the increase of this ability is influenced by creativity. It means, that if the students’ creativity is getting higher, their ability of mathematical problem solving is also progressively better, conversely. The applying of  Treffinger’s model in mathematics teaching and learning at high school, have been proven can develop the students’ creativity. In this research, Treffinger’s model is applied to  students prepared for being mathematics teacher as a mean to improve their ability of  mathematical problem solving. The sampels consist of 32 students of Mathematics Educational Department, taken by purposive sampling. The data collecting uses instrument in the form of test about the ability of mathematical problem solving. The result of this research indicates that the applying of  Treffinger’s model is significant influencing the increase of the mathematical problem solving’s ability. It is caused by the fact that the students have their own variation, creativity, and experience so that can be developed swiftly in mathematical problem solving.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan saat kegiatan pembelajaran, peneliti menemukan masih rendahnya respon mahasiswa terhadap stimulus yang diberikan dosen berupa perhatian, dan menjawab pertanyaan dari dosen. Mahasiswa merasa malu, takut, dan kurang percaya diri dalam mengemukakan pendapat  maupun menanyakan        hal-hal  yang belum mereka pahami. Hal ini terjadi akibat kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Penerapan pembelajaran matematika yang melibatkan ICT (math expert) dengan mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran SAVI mempunyai potensi untuk mengatasi rendahnya kemempuan berfikir kritis mahasiswa. Berdasarkan uraian di atas tujuan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran SAVI dengan mengoptimalkan Math Expert dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah kalkulus II. Data penelitian berupa data tes hasil belajar mahasiswa, dan motivasi mahasiswa terhadap Pembelajaran SAVI dengan Mengoptimalkan Program Math Expert. Untuk menjaga keabsahan data dilakukan dengan kegiatan triagulasi, dan pemeriksaan sejawat.Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua sesi, masing-masing tahapan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu (1) Somatic; (2) Auditory; (3) Visualization; dan (4) Intellectualy. Secara klasikal peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat dilihat dari hasil tes yang dilaksanakan sebelum dilakukan tindakan dan disetiap akhir sesi. Rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada tes pra-tindakan adalah 55.17 (Kategori Cukup) pada pra-tindakan, 63.80 (Kategori Cukup) pada sesi I dan 79,43 (Kualifikasi Tinggi) pada sesi II. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Pembelajaran SAVI dengan Mengoptimalkan Program Math Expert dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis mahasiswa.

Abstract

this research has purpose to know mathematics learning process by Mastery Learning model in order to can be increase of interest and achievement of study mathematics of fifth grade student in Muhammadiyah Mertosanan Elementary School Subdistrict of Banguntapan Regency of Bantul on the year of teaching 2012/2013. The kind of this research was Clasroom Action Research (CAR). This research were implemented in two of cycle with the subject are fifth grade student in Muhammadiyah Mertosanan Elementary School Subdistrict of Banguntapan Regency of Bantul on the year of teaching 2012/2013 that number are 23 students. The object of this research were all of process on application of Mastery Learning model to increased of interest and achievement of study in mathematics of student. The research data obtained from the observation during the lesson, questionnaire, documentation and the test of every cycle. The result of this research show that after applied of Mastery Learning model, interest and achievement of study in mathematics of student in mathematics learning are experience to be increase.  suggestion in order to teacher of mathematics lesson can be apply Mastery Learning model as variation in to teach.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to find out correlate between learn time management, motivation to learn, and learning facilities with mathematics learning achievement on 8th  grade students at the whole district of Danurejan Yogyakarta. The genre of this research is descriptive researchment. The population in this research were all students of 8th grade students at the whole district of Danurejan Yogyakarta with amount 593 students and the samples taken at proportional random sampling with amount 113 students. Data collection method used was a questionannaire and a test technique. Analysis using descriptive analysis of data, multiple regression, and partial correlation. In the major hypothesis test is obtained R = 0,747 and R2 = 0,558 with sig=0,000 < 0,05. Then in the first minor hypothesis test is obtained ry1-23 = 0,443 with         sig=0,000 < 0,05; the second minor hypothesis test is obtained ry2-13 = 0,370 with sig=0,000 < 0,05; and the minor third hypothesis test is obtained ry3-12 = 0,344 with sig=0,000 < 0,05. So there is a positive and significant correlation between learning time management, motivation to learn, and learning facilities with mathematics learning achievement on 8th grade students at the whole district of Danurejan Yogyakarta as collective and partial. It is expected that students care about learning time management, motivation to learn, and learning facilities to  mathematics learning achievement increasingly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve liveliness and mathematics achievement in cooperative students of class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah Salam Magelang with cooperative learning TPS (Think Pair Share). This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects in this study were students of class VII A which is 15 students who comprised 10 male students and 5 female students. Research findings indicate that the liveliness and increase math achievement. This can be shown by an increase in the average yield percentage of student learning liveliness based on the observation sheet for each cycle is the first cycle of student liveliness and 63.33% for the second cycle was 88.83%. While the average value interpretation of students' mathematics learning increased from an average initial value of the average of 46.33 to 55.67 in the first cycle and the second cycle to 84,67.

Abstract

Descriptively, the purpose of this study is to know the tendency of the custom study, facility study and parents’ attention and the achievement Math of the students of  VII of Junior High School Negeri in Pajangan district on 2013/2014 academic year. Correlatively, the purpose is to determine the relationship between custom study, study facility and parents’ attention and the achievement Mathematics of the students of VII of Junior High School Negeri in Pajangan district on 2013/2014 academic year. This action research is descriptive correlation like ex post facto. The population of this study was all students of VII in Pajangan district on 2013/2014 academic year. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The result of research shows descriptively that it has tendency to the advanced custom study on the average as big as 67,06, 65,70 on the study facility, parents’ attention as big as 66,83, and the mathematics study achievement is amount to 15,97. While it shows correlatively that there is a positive context and significance among the custom study, study facility, and parents’ attention togetherness with the achievement mathematics. With the value correlation (R) between X1,X2 and X3 as big as 0,865 and efficient of decision 0,748.

Abstract

An application of cooperative learning model type Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD) to increase the effectiveness and achievement in learning mathematics of students grade VII A SMP Negeri 1 Kalibawang, Kulon Progo in year 2013/ 2014. The type of this research is classroom action research collaboratively. The subject of the reasearch are students grade VII A SMP Negeri Kalibawang, Kulonprogo. It consist 35 students. The object of the research is  the effectiveness and students’ achivement in learning mathematics through cooperative learning model type Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD). The result shows the increase by using this model. It is shown by the increase of the subjection mean in observation sheet in each cycle. Pre-cycle of the effectivenes shows 62,86% become 72,14% in cycle I, then it has an increase in cycle II become 83,81%. Beside that, the subjection mean of students achievement has an increase. In pre-cycle shows 54,14 with Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) is 31,43% consist of 8 students, in cycle I has an increase become 65,51 with KKM is 48,57% consist of 17 students, whereas in cycle II shows the increse become 75,13 with KKM is 77,14%.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to determine: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles, (3) The percentages of error in computation, and (4) The most common type of error made by students in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle. The study population was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Mlati in Sleman Regency. The technique of sample was Cluster Sampling. The result of analysis showed that: (1) The percentage of error in understanding questions is 12,95% with very low category, (2) The percentage of eror in the application of mathematical concepts and principles is 59,82% with sufficient category, (3) The percentages of error in computation is 30,80% with low category and (4) The most common type of error made by students is application of mathematical concepts and principles. From the analysis it can be concluded that students still make some mistakes in answering questions about angle, area, and circumference of triangle, especially on the type of application error of mathematical concepts and principles.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the learning interest and learning outcomes in mathematic of student of class VIII A SMP Al Ma’arif Bantul using cooperative learning type Think – Pair – Share (TPS). The subjects of this research was student of class VIII A SMP Al Ma’arif Bantul totaling 20 student. The object of this research was learning interest and mathematic learning outcomes. The result showed that after application of using cooperative learning type Think – Pair – Share in class VIII A SMP Al ‘ Ma’arif Bantul, learning interest and mathematic learning outcomes of student has increased. This was indicated by an increase in the result percentage average learning interest score of 73,8% in the pre-action, whereas at the first cycle improves with average percentage 81,00%. In the second cycle improve to 89,21%. Mathematic learning outcomes of student also increased. At the beginning of the test the ability is 35,65. In the first cycle, the average result improves to 57,33. In the second cycle the average result improves to 72,5.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase interest and achievement in mathematics learning models Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP) in class X MC SMK Tamansiswa Jetis Yogyakarta. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycle. The subjects of this research is students of class X MC SMK Negeri Tamansiswa Jetis Yogyakarta totaling 23 students. Data collection techniques in this research uses observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The results showed after the application of models Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP), interest and learning mathematics achievement of students has increased. Mathematics achievement of students and the percentage of completeness students (with KKM 75)also increased. Models Missouri Mathematic Project (MMP) to increase interest in mathematics learning and achievement of students, it is suggested that mathematics teachers can apply the learning model.
