Abstract

Development is the increasing ability or skill in the structure and function of the body more complex in a regular pattern and can be predicted as a result of maturation. The development is begun since in the womb until adulthood is prenatal period, infancy, and childhood, are followed by pre-adolescence, early adolescence, and late adolescence. One of the factors that influence the development of an infant or child is a childbirth factor in which the newborn infant has asphyxia. If the infant has asphyxia, especially in severe asphyxia that has a value of 0-3 APGAR can affect the infant's development in next life because it is associated with nerve damage due to lack of oxygen during birth process. This research had purposes to identify the relationship between asphyxia history in newborn and the development of infants aged 3-12 months. This research used retrospective design, by involving 100 infants aged 3-12 months which were taken by simple random sampling. Data collection was done by examining of infant development by using KPSP instrument checklist based on infant age and then the researcher searches the history of APGAR Score of (occurence of asphyxia) when the infant was born in the midwife's medical records that helped childbirth. The result of Chi Square test = 0.021 (<0.05), so it could be concluded that there was a significant relationship between the history of asphyxia in newborns and the development of infants aged 3-12 months. Abstract

The process of spontaneous labor is sensitive to the oxytocin hormone that causes uterine smooth muscle contraction as a receptor for the start of labor. Dates contains source of carbohydrates are simple sugars, iron, potassium, selenium, calcium, and flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of date’s extracts (Phoenix dactilifera L) to the oxytocin hormone day 19 of gestation age of mice (Mus musculus L). This experiment devide dose of date extract into four groups, group I : control (no treatment), group II: 3 dates (3.12 mg/kg), group III 5 dates (5.2 mg/kg), and group IV 7 dates (7.28 mg/kg) to the oxytocin hormone. The research method is done by extracting palm ajwa with methanol. Treat made orally at the age of 14-19 days gestation. Measurement of oxytocin levels using ELISA at the age of pregnancy 19 days, showed the average number of levels of the oxytocin hormone in group I in the amount of 126.494 ng / L, the second group is equal to 124.169 ng / L, group III amounting to 129.041 ng / L, and group IV is equal to 132.252 ng / L. Overall extract dates with various doses of the treatment led to increased levels of the oxytocin hormone in mice. However, these increases did not show a significant effect, although the hormones oxytocin on uterine tissue of mice kept rising. Keywords: Dates extract, Oxitocin levels, Pregnant mice

Abstract

The technique of secreting breast milk can be influenced by two factors: production and secretion. Breast milk production is influenced by prolactin hormone while secretion is influenced by oxytocin hormone. The suggested technique is by using hands and fingers because they are practical, effective, and efficient, compared with using pumps. If this technique is done effectively and accurately, there will be no problem in producing breast milk and the technique of secreting it so that babies can always obtain breast milk. The objective of the research was to find out the effectiveness in the technique of secreting breast milk on breast milk production in post-partum women. The research used pre-experimental method with One-Shot Case Study (X O) design. The population was 30 primipara post-partum women who had normal childbirth in Klinik Dermawati, Klinik Tanjung, and Klinik Nurhalma, Medan, and all of them were used as the samples (total population). The data were analyzed by using ANOVA test. The result of the research showed that there was the difference in the technique of secreting breast milk on its production at p-value=0.002. The technique of secreting it by doing oxytocin massage was more effective on its production than using marmet technique and warm compress, viewed from the mean value of oxytocin massage which was higher (171.00) and standard deviation of 5.676 than using marmet technique at the mean value of 166.00 and standard deviation of 4.595 and using warm compress at the mean value of 160.50 and standard deviation of 7.246. The group which was significantly different was the technique of oxytocin massage and warm compress (p=0.002) which indicated that there was the difference in action which was done on breasts. It is recommended that the Health Agency of Medan collaborate with the Indonesian Midwife Association to make oxytocin permanent procedure as post-partum service and provide counseling for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Abstract

Classification and Regression Tree (CART) was a method of Machine Learning where data exploration was done by decision tree technique. CART was a classification technique with binary recursive reconciliation algorithms where the sorting was performed on a group of data collected in a space called a node / node into two child nodes (Lewis, 2000). The aim of this study was to predict family participation in Elderly Family Development program based on family behavior in providing physical, mental, social care for the elderly. Family involvement accuracy using Bagging CART method was calculated based on 1-APER value, sensitivity, specificity, and G-Means. Based on CART method, classification accuracy was obtained 97,41% with Apparent Error Rate value 2,59%. The most important determinant of family behavior as a sorter was society participation (100,00000), medical examination (98,95988), providing nutritious food (68.60476), establishing communication (67,19877) and worship (57,36587). To improved the stability and accuracy of CART prediction, used CART Bootstrap Aggregating (Bagging) with 100% accuracy result. Bagging CART classifies a total of 590 families (84.77%) were appropriately classified into implement elderly Family Development program class. Abstract

The first 6 months of infant life is a golden opportunity for early detection, as well as a growth assessment. Special forms of growth and development are stimulation. Stimulation should be done routinely, continuously at every opportunity and in all infants and toddlers. Based on the fact that there are many mothers who do not know how to perform good stimulation and unskilled in stimulating the result is still found the existence of parents who do not provide stimulation of the baby with routine. The purpose of this study was to determine "differences in mother's knowledge and skills in monitoring of growth and development infants aged 0-6 months among mothers who applied “Sahabat Ibu Balita” and those who did not apply the “Sahabat Ibu Balita”. The design of this research was quasi-experiment with pre-posttest with control group. The samples used were parents who had babies aged 0-6 months in the work area of Babakansari Community Health Center. Sample sizw was 66, then divided into 2 groups that was intervention group and control group. They were selected by multistage sampling and executed in December 2016 to January 2017. Result of research by Chi square test there was a significant difference of intervention group and control group on the knowledge and skills. Abstract

All adolescents are vulnerable to HIV/AIDS, including street children. The behaviors of street children are much influenced by their peers. Peer education can enhance knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and skills and empower children to be responsible for protecting the health of themselves and their peers (Wahyuni, 2012). This study aims to determine the effects of peer health education on the HIV/AIDS Preventive Behaviors of Street Children in Bandung City in 2015. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with the pre-post-test control group design. The sample was 26 people for the treatment group and 26 people for the control group, respectively, taken with purposive sampling technique. Interventions began with peer educator training and then the peer educators provided health education on HIV/AIDS transmission prevention through small group discussions for 2 days. The data in this study were not normally distributed. The paired or dependent data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, while the unpaired or independent data using Mann-Whitney test. The results of the research show that peer health education had effects on the knowledge and attitudes of the street children (p values 0.00 and 0.00, respectively); however, there was no effect of peer health education on the actions regarding HIV/AIDS transmission prevention among the street children (p value 0.09). Hence, it is advisable to conduct health promotion with peer health education method in an effort of increasing knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS transmission prevention among street children that is sustainable and integrated with the existing programs at puskesmas (Community Health Center). Abstract

The case of DHF in Central Java is quite high. Nearly all blood lab results of patients with DHF are reported to show significant decreases in platelet count. Garlic extract is known to inhibit platelet aggregation induced by Adenosine diphosphate (ADP), epinephrine, collagen and arachidonate, and may inhibit prostacyclin biosynthesis. Diallyl disulphide (DADS) and diallyl trisulphide in garlic can prevent thrombus formation. The essential compounds contained in garlic are thought to increase the blood platelet count in DHF patients. The purpose of this study was to add non-pharmacological treatment reference to increase platelet count in DHF patients. This study used a true experimental design. The sample of this study were 22 DHF patients in "Nakula 2" and "Nakula 3" Disease Hospital Semarang City Hospital. The data were analyzed using T-test. The results showed that garlic extract could increase platelet count in DHF patients. Keywords: DHF, Garlic extract, Platelet
