Abstract

This article is reviews about contextual approach as an alternative approach to teaching history in high school. The Contextual approach of teaching history is not a new approach, but it needs to be reconsidered in order to improve the quality of teaching history in high school.The teaching of history was still dominated by conventional approach, which is more emphasis on the mastery of the material(essentialism). It is not relevance with the educational nature of history itself, that is to humanize humans. The Contextual approach is a new perspective that is based on the context of the situation, place, time and conditions of a real environment faced by students daily. The teaching of history with this approachmeant the teacher is able to relate and connect the material study with real-life conditions.

Abstract

The low attention to learners, students and the public on the history as well as the withdrawal of the application of curriculum in 2013 add to the problems of strengthening the role of history in the nation’s character. This affects the poor students who want to pursue higher education studies for history or science education majors history, plus the lack of job security from the government. Government and stakeholders are obliged to fix the condition of the nation and state are already crisscrossing this. We need a breakthrough in learning activities or movements to public awareness that history is not solely belong to the ruling, but the history is the property of the entire nation of Indonesia. Public history is expected to be a breakthrough in the history closer to the people. Besides public history programs provide employment opportunities for graduates to be able to work in all areas of life, and not fixated on any one area of work. In the public program history, the public are invited to play an active role in the history of his people, so that the character of a nation is not just a slogan government alone

Abstract

Character education is one of the answers to the formation of national character. Character education has become a mission in an effort to realize the vision of national development. Design education and character formation in macro is done through the process of planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes involving all sectors of life, while the micro constructed and formed in the four pillars of teaching and learning activities in the classroom, activities of daily life in the form of cultural education unit, the activities co-curricular and extra-curricular and daily activities at home and in the community.

Abstract

After the fallen of the new order era, social-political structures has been supporting the born of new claims or interpretations towards the so-called-and-believed history. Some historical themes have been discussed, reviewed and re-narrated in new interpretation and perspective. This is marked with the issuance of new books, the emergence of new ideas, as well as findings of recent facts and data. This phenomenon has emerged with its pro and contra among historians, teachers and general society, then later leads to a new found term as controversial history.This article aims to discuss the paradigm of learning the controversial history study, that includes what is controversial history study itself, the urgency of historical learning, as well as models, approaches, and strategies used by teachers in the face of controversial history learning. Controversial history is an interesting theme in classroom history learning since it can stimulates learners to practice their logical, critical, and creative thinking. Full understanding and in-depth material for a history teacher is absolutely necessary here, other than the ability to manage learning in didactic-methodical. Research based methods used a qualitative approach, in which the resources obtained throught literature review.

Abstract

The new order lasts from 1968 to 1998 , and can be regarded as the era of national development . In the field of development of education , especially primary education , there is a significant leap in the presence of Presidential Decree (Presidential Instruction) Basic Education . The implementation of education in the new order turned out to be many obstacles , because the new order brings educational ideology of “ uniformity “ that compress the progress in the field of education . In the new order of educational equality in education can not be created because the elements dominating and submissive still very strong in the education pattern of the new order.

Abstract

The aim of study is to reveal the influence of instructional model and cognitive style on historical conciousness on SMAN 5 Tambun Selatan.The methodology used is the experimental method with treatment by level ANAVA 2 X 2. Reseach instrumentation will include a test that will be used to measure students historical conciousness from instructional model and cognitive style of students. A total participant from experiment class are 33 student and from controll class are 30 students will be selected. Data analysis be performed by using two way varians analysis. Among the result of this research are the historical conciousness of students who follow discovery instructional model higher than the student who studied with direct instruction model, the historical conciousness of students who have field independent cognitive style higher than than student who have a field dependent cognitive style and there is an interaction between models of instructional and cognitive style.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determining the influence of media learning interactive historical map and learning style to the result of history learning through IPS subject in class IX. The method used in this research is the experimental method, a 2X2 treatment design by level. The validity and reliability are tested by Pearson Product Moment and Alpha Cronbach. The results of this research are (1) the results of historical learning outcomes students using interactive historical maps and have higher visual learning style of students who use historical maps interactive media and have auditory learning style. (2) the results of historical learing outcomes students who have higher auditory learning styles of students who have a visual learning style on instruction using conventional media, (3) There is an interaction effect the use of interactive historical maps on historical learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of instructional models and creative thinking ability toward history learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 30 Jakarta. This research is quantitative research using design treatment by level 2x2. The instrument used to assess student’s achievement is in the multiple choice form, while the instrumen used to assess students creative thinking’s ability is in questionnaire form. The result of the research show that: history learning outcomes of students using sinektik learning models are higher than those history learning outcomes of students using cooperative learning tipe group investigation models, here is interaction effect between learning model and creative thinking on history learning outcomes of students, history learning outcomes of students who has high creative thinking and using sinektik learning model are higher than students using cooperative learning tipe grup investigation model, history learning outcomes of students who has creative thinking and using sinektik model are lower than students using the cooperative learning tipe grup investigation models.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the process of teaching history with event materials G 30 S. This study implemented for three months housed in SMAN 2 and SMAN 4 Kota Bima. The method used is a qualitative method using analytical descriptive. Collecting data in this study using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Sources of key data used in this research: key informant and the informant is vice principal core curriculum is a history teacher and student. Data were analyzed using analysis of Huberman Milles ie, data reduction, data presentation and then verify and pengambilam conclusions. The results showed that the learning G30S lasted less monotonous and attract students, the method used by the teacher has not varied, instructional media used was whiteboard reference books still use textbooks published by private simple. Besides infrastructure such as, Laptops, LCD, and VCD do not support learning activities in the classroom. The issue of revival of the PKI and government apology to the victim less of an effect on learning about the material G 30 S in school, especially in the city of Bima. This is because the curriculum is implemented using the curriculum in 2006.

Abstract

Based on the observations made by researchers, there are four problems that occur in the classroom are: less of enthusiasm of the students in following the teaching of history, less of response to the student when giving responses and rebuttals, students are less active to ask and answer questions of teachers and teaching is also still using the approach teacher center. The method used is a method of classroom action research with four cycles. This classroom action research conducted in Man Cirebon 1 in class XI IPS 4. In the first cycle students have not implemented the method brainstorming well but, after investigator learned from the first cycle, the teacher gave them the motivation to reward, and the media that interest the students. The result in the second cycle, third and fourth categories of students’ ability to express opinions is at a good level. because students are enthusiastic in identifying questions, looking for ideas or ideas, find an idea or ideas, formulate opinions and submit an opinion in the teaching of history.Keywords: brainstorming, express opinions, and reward
