Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe (1) types of greetings, (2) greeting functions, and (3) factors that influence the use of greetings in the Sumba language of dialect Kambera in Laipandak Village, Wulla Waijilu District, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive. The data collection technique uses the method of listening with basic tapping techniques along with advanced techniques, namely the skillful listening technique (SLC), namely skillful listening techniques (SLC), recording techniques, and note-taking techniques; and proficient methods with basic fishing techniques accompanied by advanced techniques, namely leading skill techniques. The data analysis technique uses the translational equivalent method with the basis of the determinant elements (PUP) accompanied by advanced techniques, namely the comparative connection technique equates the main thing (HBSP). Presentation of the results of data analysis using formal and informal methods. The results of this study indicate that (1) types of greetings consist of (a) pronouns, (b) self-names, (c) greetings of kinship terms, (d) the title of 'noble' Maramba, or 'servant', and profession, (e)  a deixis or pointer greetings, and (f) a zero characteristic; (2) the greeting function consists of calls, arrangements for speech turn, rituals and social contexts, requires and reduces threats; and (3) factors that influence the use of greetings consist of age, gender, situation, social status, kinship relationships, and intimacy relationships.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of reading skills in the text of the observation report and the text writing skills of the observation results of the VII students of SMPN 16 Tebo. This type of research uses quantitative research. This research method is descriptive method with correlational design. The population is seventh grade students at SMPN 16 Tebo which are divided into 105 people into four classes. The sample of this study was 32 people. This study consisted of two variables, namely the independent variable (reading comprehension skills of the text from the seventh grade observation report of Tebo 16 Public High School) and (dependent variable (writing skill in the seventh grade of Tebo SMPN 16 observational report). observations, need to read comprehension skills from observation reports.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are, (1) describe the form of code-switching in diniyah program PPNUPI, (2) describe the cause of code-switching in diniyah program PPNUPI, (3) describe the form of code mixing in diniyah program PPNUPI, and (4) describe the cause of code mixing in diniyah program PPNUPI. The research is qualitative descriptive research. The data used are the sentence /ustaz’s dialogue/ ustazah and the students that obtain of code switching and code mixing in diniyah program. The source of data is from a language using the mathodes of collecting data are simak bebas libat cakap method, recording method and noting method. The analysis method used is padan translational method, and pragmatic with pilah unsur penentu technique and agih methot with bagi unsur langsung technique . the method the result of the research are 1) The from of code-switching in diniyah program PPNUPI insteads of, (a) code-switching from Indonesia to Javanese, (b) code swiching from Javanese to Indonesia, (c) code-switching from Indonesia of Arabic, (d) code-switching from Arabic to Indonesia, (e) code-switching from Arabic to Javanese, (f) code-switching from Indonesia to English. 2)The couse of code-switching in diniyah program PPNUPI instead of (a) the narrator, (b) the narrated, (c) the third person, and (d) the topic charging. (3) The from of code mixing in diniyah program PPNUPI is divided into to forms, a) inner-code-mixing instead of (i) word infixation, (ii) phrase infixation, (iii) phrase infixation. (4) The cause of code mixing in diniyah program PPNUPI instead of (a) the special characteristic of the region, (b) the fidelity of praying, and (c) the intellectualism.

Abstract

This research aims as follows. (1) Describe the elements of the novel which include the plot, character and characterization, and background in the novel Tempurung by Oka Rusmini. (2) Describe gender injustice found in the novel Tempurung by Oka Rusmini. (3) Describe the response of figures who experienced gender injustice in the novel Tempurung by Oka Rusmini. This type of research is qualitative research. The results obtained in this study are as follows. (1) The flow in the Tempurung novel uses the regression path. The main character in Novel Tempurung is Dayu and the additional character is Mrs. Barla. Both have diverse characters. Background of most places on the island of Bali. The time frame described after the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 and after the Bali Bombing I incident on 12 October 2002. While the social background illustrates the condition of the Balinese people with their customs. (2) Gender injustice towards women in Tempurung novels is marginalization, subordination, stereotyping, violence and workload. (3) The response of leaders who experience gender inequality, namely, choosing to remain silent, resist, and continue to struggle until finally becoming independent women.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the assessment form of the knowledge aspects contained in the Indonesian High School Curriculum 2013 textbooks. The research data are phrases, words, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and discourses that contain content about assessment forms of knowledge contained in the textbook. Data is obtained by documentation techniques then validated by expert judgment and FGD. Data is analyzed with interactive analysis techniques. The results of the research included assessment forms of knowledge aspects of class X and XI in Indonesian textbooks in  Curriculum 2013. Assessment Forms of knowledge aspects of class X textbooks include entries, descriptions, question, and answer, and assignments while in class XI include multiple choices, incorrect, fill, description, and assignment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the theme, plot, character and characterization, background, social problems, and social criticism in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor. This study uses theory, approach, and methods of literary sociology analysis and a set of theories regarding themes, plot, character and characterization and setting. The social problem in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor is the problem of poverty, which is to go to prison for being poor. The social criticism in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor is social criticism among officials, namely social criticism on the governor and social criticism on selfish officials; social criticism on the law apparatus, which is that the police are often busy suddenly and about the police always belittling small people; and social criticism in the general public, namely the behavior of the Indonesian people who lack respect for their own culture and the Indonesian people easily forget.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe of writing ability fable story text made by 7Th grade students of MTs YAPI Pakem and to prove positive and significant trend between writing ability of fable text using storyboard media made by 7Th grade students of MTs YAPI Pakem. This research was used random samping technique which is class A is an experiment class and class B is a control class. The collection of data uses the objective test and the triangulation test. The instrument validity is content validity with expert judgment. The result from alpha Cronbach technique is 0.843 so this instrument is reliable. The result of the research shows the preferences writing ability of fable text with storyboard media is very high category on the average 76,5. The ability to write fable text with the print media is a high category on the average 71,38. In comparative from  3,087 that is > 1,672 so that can conluded that there are significant differences from user storyboard media toward write of fable text in the 7Th grade students of MTs YAPI Pakem.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and explain (1) plot, (2) figure and character, (3) setting, (4) reality of life from boarding school, (5) religiosity A. Mustofa Bisri, and (6) creative process A. Mustofa Bisri in anthology short story Lukisan Kaligrafi. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results obtained in this research area. (1) Plot used is a progress manner and flashback. (2) ) Figure and character is Gus Jakfar: always curious, figure ‘aku’: wise, Ustadz Bachri: not easily hopeless, humble, Kang Amin: not easily give up. Meanwhile is available figure additional that is Kiai Tawakkal, Nabi Khidir, Hardi, Kiai Nur, Samsuddin. (3) geographical settings in anthology short story Lukisan Kaligrafi: Sabilul Muttaqin Boarding School, Pesantren Bambu, house of figure ‘aku’, house of Ustadz Bachri, the warehouse of Ustadz Bachri, and exhibition location, Tanwirul ‘Uquul Boarding School, city of recitation location. The social setting is muslim society in rural and life of santri. Time setting is night and daytime. (4) the reality of life from boarding school in anthology short story Lukisan Kaligrafi seen from the interaction which becomes aware antartokoh and between relation kiai, santri, and family ndalem boarding school in layer santri society. (5) Religiosity A. Mustofa Bisri relevance in anthology short story Lukisan Kaligrafi seen from activities religious, as recitation or dakwah with all his experience which pictured all short story. (6) Creative process A. Mustofa Bisri in anthology short story Lukisan Kaligrafi be born and processed from the life of A. Mustofa Bisri which not far dakwah world.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (1) to describe the form of action verb in the Indonesian language, (2) determine the affixes maker of action verb in the Indonesian language, (3)  describe the semantic valence level of action verb in Indonesian language, and (4) describe the semantic role marker valence level of action verb in Indonesian language. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research covers sentences which have action verb on them. The data collection was taken from (1) newspaper of Suara Merdeka (Maret 2018), (2) Kumpulan Cerpen Agama Apa yang Pantas Bagi Pohon Pohon (2016), (3) novel Dilan (2015), and (4) the book of Sejarah Indonesia Kelas XI (2017). The method used in this research was observed attentively by taking note technique. The data analysis method used in this research was to distribute evenly method with direct divide-element technique, reserve side technique, expansion technique, form-changed technique, and read markup technique. This research describes in an informal method. The result of this research as follows  (1) the form of the action verb is an infinitive verb and the descend of affixes, (2) the affixes of action verb in the Indonesian language are prefixes: meng-, ber-, and ter-. Confix ber-an and the combination of affixes ber- / –an; meng- / –kan; and meng- / -i, (3) the semantic valence level of action verb in Indonesian language are (a) Agentive-Verb-Object- (Location), (b) Agentive-Verb-Object-Benefactive, (c) Agentive-Verb-Benefactive–Object, (d) Experience-Verb-Object, (e) Experience-Verb-Object-(Time), (f) Experience-Verb-Object-(Location), (g) Agentive-Verb-Location, (h) Agentive-Verb-Location-(Time), (i) Instrument-Verb-Location, and (j) Instrument-Verb-Object. The semantic role marker valence level of action verb in Indonesian language  are (a) proposition : oleh as the role of Agentive, (b) proposition : untuk and kepada as the role of Benefactive; (c) preposition : di, ke, and dari as  the role of Location; (d) preposition pada and nomina which indicates time as the role of Time; (e) proposition: dengan as the role of Instrument; and (f) proposition : dari as the role of Source.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the types of Javanese language demonstrative pronouns in Djaka Lodang magazine, (2) references to the Javanese language demonstrative pronouns in Djaka Lodang magazine, and (3) syntactic function to the Javanese language demonstrative pronouns in Djaka Lodang magazine. This study included a type of qualitative descriptive research. The data in this study are in the form of sentences and paragraphs containing Javanese language demonstrative pronouns. The data source of this study is in the form of Djaka Lodang magazine from March to April 2018. The method of providing data, namely by referring to the method includes the technique of referring to skillful involvement and note-taking techniques. The method of data analysis is the agih method with the basic techniques for direct elements and advanced techniques, namely the sloping technique, expanded techniques, and sentence constituent analysis techniques. The method of presenting the results of data analysis is done by informal methods. The results of the research on the Javanese language demonstrative pronouncement in Djaka Lodang magazine are as follows. (1) The types of Javanese language demonstrative pronouns in Djaka Lodang magazine have five namely substantive demonstrative pronouns, locative demonstrative pronouns, descriptive demonstrative pronouns/modalities, temporal demonstrative pronouns, and demonstrative pronouns of directions. (2) There are two references to the Javanese language demonstrative pronoun in the Djaka Lodang magazine, namely the reference of endospores and references to exophora. (3) There are three syntactic functions of the Javanese demonstrative pronouncement in Djaka Lodang magazine, namely the subject function, the predicate function, and the information function.
