Abstract

Institut Teknologi Adhi Tama Surabaya (ITATS) is an institute that has relatively wide territory and complicated building arrangement for outsiders especially related to identification of buildings that they want to visit. To overcome this problem, an android based application that can be used to gain information related to those buildings, locations of places or important places in real-time is required. Augmented Reality (AR) is the appropriate technology to display environment and locations information at ITATS in real-time. The implementation of Augmented Reality technology on android based smartphones using Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) can identify pictures continuously and has proper identification speed. Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) is an algorithm that has been commonly applied in correspondence matching because it is faster than Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and has appropriate and accurate performance maintenance. In designing this application, there are three main stages that should be considered, namely: initialization, tracking marker, and object rendering. Initialization is the stage where images that becomes the database is preliminary processed with Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) algorithm and  the preparation of the displayed information on the users’ smartphones. The second is tracking marker, smartphone camera takes pictures continuously while processing every inputted image applying Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) and conducting matching process of images in the database. The final stage, after a match is found, this application displays the text information which corresponds with the matching result. The reliability of this system in recognizing locations at ITATS is 81.66% and average time required is 2.333 seconds.

Abstract

Diabetic retinopathy is one of diabetes mellitus on eyes which causes permanent blindness. Microaneurysm becomes its sympthom which is signed by a spot with dark red in circle shape. A detection system on microaneurysms is designed to help medical experts. This research employed matched filter method to detect microaneurysms. Matched filter refers to one of matching template techniques. Microaneurysms have intencity profile in Gaussian, therefore a Gaussian matched filter can be used for detecting them. The searching on the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy was calculated by ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristics). The research results obtained from 30 retina images of DIAETDB1 showed the average levels of sensitivity 64.53%, specificity 99.94%, and accuracy 99.90%.Keywords: Diabetic Retinopathy, Microaneurysm, Matched Filter, Gaussian Matched Filter, ROC, DIARETDB1.

Abstract

Abstract. Novel Method to Detect Failed TCP Connection on Receiving Host Based on Packet Inter-arrival Timeout. TCP use retransmission timeout (RTO) as a standard mechanism to detect connection failure. Nevertheless, RTO can only be used by the sending host, and not by the receiving host. Until today there is no standardized mechanism for the receiving host to detect connection failure. Meanwhile a study on internet traffic shows that majority of internet traffic is unidirectional. This means the receiving host in majority of internet traffic does not have a standardized method to detect connection failure. This paper propose a novel method to detect failed TCP connection based on history of packet inter-arrival time. Simulation using NS2 shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.Keywords: Failed TCP connection detection, receiving host, packet inter-arrival timeoutAbstrak. TCP menggunakan retransmission timeout (RTO) sebagai mekanisme standar untuk mendeteksi terputusnya koneksi. Namun RTO hanya dapat dimanfaatkan pihak pengirim data (sending host), sedangkan pihak penerima data (receiving host) tidak memiliki mekanisme untuk mendeteksi terputusnya koneksi. Sementara itu sebuah studi menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar traffic internet bersifat satu arah. Ini berarti pihak penerima data pada sebagian besar traffic internet tidak memiliki metode yang terstandarisasi untuk mendeteksi terputusnya koneksi. Penelitian ini mengajukan sebuah metode baru bagi receiving host untuk mendeteksi terputusnya koneksi TCP berdasarkan jeda waktu antar paket data (packet inter-arrival timeout) yang diterima. Simulasi menggunakan NS2 menunjukkan efektivitas metode yang diajukan.Kata Kunci: Deteksi terputusnya koneksi TCP, receiving host, packet inter-arrival timeout

Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries that produces several types of tobacco. Almost 80% tobacco produces is used of cigarette industry. Tobacco leaves slicing into small cuts is one of the process of cigarette production. The cutting process of tobacco requires Cut Cell which is able to cut tobacco into small pieces. Contol is required in the process of making cut cell to set the quality of the blade. The quality control often has problem in determining the Cut Cell quality. The problem is the length of time needed in determining the quality. In this fast paced era, the Quality Control is demanded to be able to determine the cut cell quality quickly and accurately. To support this need from the Quality Control, a system that can be used to determine the cut cell quality which has fast output result. The research process is started with collecting the system needs, followed by system designing, then system making, and system test. The system designing is initiated by preparing the test data and training data which are going to be used for the making and testing of the system. RADIAL BASIS FUNCTION consist of several calculation processes. The first  process is the process of center search of each variable using K-MEANS method. Aftar the center is found, the deviation standard of each variable is calculated. The second process is setting the GAUSSIAN matrix of every group found. The third process is the process of new weight and bias values search by doing pseudo-inverse GAUSSIAN matrix multiplication. The forth process is classification in which this process sets out the classication result by multiplying the value of GAUSSIAN matrix and new weight and bias applying network output formula. The experiment done to 75 experiment data which are compared to manual data as the reference result 12 different data, thus it can be concluded that the accuracy level of this system is 84 %.

Abstract

There is increasing number of Indonesian people untilizing video streaming application in ther daily life. Video streaming can be used for farious activities such as distant learning, or as a monitoring facility. Public network (internet) has some suscepbtiilities on the scurity of the data being transmitted. To  overcome  this,  Tunneling network technology is  used.  In  QOS  video streaming  analysis  on  EOIP  protocol  the  process  start  with  system  designing,  hardware installation, video server installation of EOIP, PQ method implementation, PCQ methot implementation, data retival end data analisys. In this research, the followings are anallyzed: video streaming QOS (Quality of Service) on EOIP (Ethernet Over Internet Protocol) by means of PQ (Priority Queuing) and PCQ (Per Connection Queue), covering QOS parameter i.e. Delay, Jitter and Throughput. The result show that on the video streaming with PQ(Priority Queuing) and (Per Connection Queue) there is a discrepancy of QoS. PQ method is supportive towards QOS for the highest priority client. This is because streaming server can give priority service for client having the highest priority, so as to have a better QOS. PCQ method is very supportive towards QOS among clients because streaming server can distribute service to several clients doing streaming activity simultaneously.

Abstract

The game is ways to remove saturation from various kinds of affairs. The game also used as learning media. This educational game is usually used to invite users to play while learning. Languages and games must be complementary. Because of the language is important, it needs an effective and efficient way to increase interest in language learning. So the focus of this research is to create three mobile gaming applications with educational content of Arabic vocabulary which gameplay are different and analyze which applications are effective for users in recognizing Arabic vocabulary. Testing is done to find out if the application is effective for players to know and learn Arabic language. Samples taken are second grade students Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah who know the hijaiyah letters. Pre-test, treatment and post-test are part of the testing phase. Test results were analyzed using ANOVA one way method. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in learning ability of participants through the medium of Arabic educational games with a value of 3.65 beyond the critical value with a significance level of 5% or 0.05 of 3.10. When Hypothesis 0 is rejected, then the comparison test between groups (games) with Scheffe method with critical value 2.48. The result is a third game with a value of 2.57 is said to be effective than the first game (0.58) and the second (2.00). The second game (2.05) is said to be more effective than the first game (0.51).Keywords: Educational Game, Game Effectiveness, Mobile games, Arabic vocabulary, ANOVA.

Abstract

Spectroscopy method can be used to identify the type of gas by passing light into the sample gas and light are described using a monochromator. The resulting light captured using the detector that will produce different spectra for each gas. The light source can use incandescent lamps or using Light Emitting Diode (LED). If the tested gas is a type of gas that is difficult to be taken, such as the type of toxic gas, gas from the output of the volcano, so this way you will have trouble, and the data obtained is not real time. In this study designed a system of identification of gas or smoke in the air using a spectrophotometer using solar light. The spectrum of light that has been absorbed by the gas or fumes captured using a telescope, then described using a monochromator produces gray level curve representing the absorption of each wavelength of light. The sample used in this study is the smoke of burning oil, sulfur and dry leaves. The curve of each sample generated, analyzed and identified the type of smoke using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with backpropagation training algorithm. The architecture consists of input layer, hidden and output. Input node number is 197, the number of neurons in the first hidden layer is 150, the number of neurons in the second hidden layer is 20, and the number of neurons in the output layer is 4. In this ANN learning process entails iterating as many as 900 epoch and the results can distinguish the smoke oil , sulfur and dry leaves. The success rate of 70% for oil and dried leaves, 80% for sulfur.

Abstract

Video Surveillance adalah salah satu aplikasi yang sering dimanfaatkan pada system keamanan. Penerapan teknik deteksi gerak (Motion Detection) pada video surveillance merupakan salah satu metode yang sering digunakan. Metode pencarian objek gerak pada visual video dengan menggunakan metode Spektral Residual. Langkap-langkah dalam penelitian deteksi gerak adalah input video dengan ukuran 176x144 piksel, proses segmentasi dengan menggunakan metode Threshold Otsu, Proses Saliency Detection yang menggunakan metode Spektrum Residu, Proses Tracking untuk menghasilkan hasil Output Objek deteksi gerak. Data untuk uji coba sejumlah 30 data video dan tingkat keberhasilannya sebesar 90%.Kata Kunci: Deteksi Gerak, Video Surveilance ,Spektral Residual, Thershold Otsu

Abstract

Fuzzy Decision Tree Implementation for Predicting Chronic Renal Failure. Kidney is one of the important organs for the body. The main function of kidney is for filtering process. The gradual decreasing of kidney function will lead to kidney disease and if it is left unchecked, it will lead to chronic renal failure. Chronic renal failure is a type of disease that can cause death. Until now there is no antidote for the disease of chronic renal failure, therefore this disease cannot be cured but its development can be slowed or stopped. The early diagnosis of this disease will help to prevent the fatal consequences. To diagnose the disease requires some laboratory tests in which the results of the test will be calculated and summed up by a doctor or medical practitioner. The development of science and technology, especially in the field of computers will help the doctor’s works in analyzing the results of laboratory test easier and faster. By some data as training data and implementing Fuzzy Decision Tree classification algorithm, it is expected to obtain high accuracy results that can be used as a reference for predicting chronic renal failure and avoid the occurrence of fatal consequences. The test was conducted by using some predetermined threshold and obtained the most optimal accuracy 98.28% with which indicated a fairly high level of accuracy. Thus the Fuzzy Decision Tree algorithm can be said to be able to predict the disease of chronic renal failure by the accuracy 98.28%.
