Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools is the important foundation in instilling scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes. However, one of the problems faced by teachers in elementary schools is that students have difficulty understanding concepts in science subjects which result in low learning outcomes. This study aims to improve students' understanding of the concept of simple aircraft in science subjects by using experimental methods. The research is a classroom action research involving 20 students of fifth grade year 2016/2017 in SDN. No. 033/XI Tanjung Muda, Hamparan Rawang Subdistrict, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This research was conducted from January to May 2017. This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings with four activities namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Understanding of concepts is measured by student activity in class and learning outcomes. Data was collected by tests and observations. Data was processed and analyzed by descriptive analysis and simple statistical test. The results showed that the use of experimental methods can improve the understanding of students about the concept of simple aircraft. The use of experimental methods increases students’ activity and learning outcomes. Increased student learning activity seen from the increasing percentage of students who ask questions, working together in groups, able to conduct experiments independently, cleaning and storing tools and materials that have been used in the experiment, and deliver the results of experiments. The results showed that the mean grade increased from 47,5 (before action) to 60,5 (cycle I) and 75,0 (cycle II). The percentage of completed students in learning also increased from 45,0% (before action) to 60,0% (cycle I) and 85,0% (cycle II). Thus, the experimental method can be an alternative in improving students' understanding of the concept in science subjects.

Abstract

Health services require hospitals to provide quality services in accordance with the needs and desires of patients with reference to the code of ethics profession. Hospital demand in providing good service quality can improve the degree of patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is a common problem that often occurs in the hospital. This study aims to determine the effect of human resources service on patient satisfaction and see the ratio of the level of satisfaction between general patients and BPJS. This research is a comparative and with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were general patients and BPJS who treated in outpatient installation as 108 respondents using chi-square statistical test and T test. The results showed that there were eight variables related to patient satisfaction level, namely educational level (p=0,0001), job status (p=0.0001), membership status (p=0,001), Service of human resources (p=0.0001), Service procedures (p=0.0001), Service of pharmacy (p=0.0001), Comfort (p=0,012), And patient relationship with hospital staff (p=0,0001) and there was difference of satisfaction level between general patient and BPJS (p=0.0001). Human resources services affect the level of patient satisfaction and there is difference of satisfaction level between general patient and BPJS. Suggestions for hospitals to continuously evaluate services by implementing the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) cycle, so that the shortcomings that occur during the service process can continue to be minimized.

Abstract

This research background of the fact that the author of the initial encounter on the ground that the SDN 13 / I Muarabulian has sought to provide library facilities for learners. But the efforts of the school in providing library services yet provide maximum results. The school library is still rarely visited by students to be used as a learning resource. The purpose of this study was to describe the management of the library as a source for students at SDN 13 / I Muarabulian. This research method is descriptive qualitative research with the principal subject of one person, and one person librarians. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data collection technique using observation technique, documentation, and interviews. To check the validity of the data, the authors do diligence observation, triangulation, member check, audit trail. And to analyze the data, the authors conducted a review and data reduction, the unitization of data, categorization data, and interpretation of data. The results of this study indicate that the management of the library as a learning resource has not run optimally. Some aspects of library management still has many shortcomings such as building libraries of the schools are still small and narrow and has a size of about 20 square meters with details of length of 5 meters and a width of 4 meters, tools and equipment that is not yet complete, only the wastebasket, stamp library, library stamp and stamp inventory. While supplies libraries owned namely wardrobes, tables, and chairs, room layout library focuses only on the arrangement of tables, chairs study and library, the collection of library materials is still a little in the form of books and non-books and library collections which contains fiction and non-fiction, lack of librarians, the service is still not controlled, and the absence of clear rules library. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the management of the library as a learning resource has not run optimally because it still has many shortcomings.

Abstract

This research was carried out using quantitative descriptive method. to determine the factors that affect demand for drinking water PDAM Tirta Sakti Kerinci regency during the years 2003-2017 used multiple linear regression model with melogaritmakan model. From the calculation by using SPSS version 12.0 was obtained coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.984, which means that the model is able to explain the total variation in demand caused by the variable Per Capita Income, Price Water, Number of Customers and Production. From the result, known that variable-free variables Per Capita Income, Price Water, Total Customer and production significantly influence the dependent variable was the demand of drinking water. But if we see a partial, then only the per capita income variable, the variable price of water and production variables that significantly influence the dependent variable was the demand of drinking water. This was seen from test results where the t-calculated t = 3.098> 1.812 but has a negative direction for variable income per capita, t-count = 2.475> t-table value = 1.812 for the variable price of water and t-calculated value = 4.805> t -table = 1.812 for the variable production, because t count> t-table, so Ho is rejected. This means that the variable of per capita income, water price variable and the variables significantly affect the production of variable demand (consumption) of drinking water on the PDAM Tirta Sakti Kerinci district.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of sixth grade students at SDN. No. 058/XI Koto Dumo on mathematics subject, especially on integer operation material by using cooperative learning model of Teams Games Tournament type. This research is a classroom action research conducted in three cycles and each cycle is done with four activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This study was conducted from August to November of 2016. The study involved 16 sixth graders. Data were collected by observation and test. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and simple statistical test. The results showed that the activities and learning outcomes of students before and after the given action (Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III) improved. Thus, the use of cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournament in SDN. No. 058/XI Koto Dumo can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, especially on the subject matter of integer counting operations.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN. No. 031/XI Kampung Dalam year 2016/2017 on social studies subjects about cooperatives using cooperative learning model type Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). This study was conducted in two cycles (Cycle I and Cycle II). Each cycle is done with two meetings and one meeting for evaluation. One cycle consists of four activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study involved 10 fourth grade students year 2016/2017 at SDN. No. 031 / XI Kampung Dalam, Hamparan Rawang Subdistrict, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. Data was collected by observation and test. Data was analyzed by descriptive analysis and simple statistical test. The results showed that student learning activities improved. All students have heard the teacher's explanation and formed a heterogeneous group. Most students have also been able to work together in groups, answer quizzes, and deliver results. In addition, the use of STAD type cooperative learning model succeeded in improving student learning outcomes which are seen from the improvement of the average score and learning mastery. The average value increased from 53,0 (before action) to 66,0 in cycles I and 79,0 in cycle II. Learning mastery also increased from 40,0% (before action) to 60,0% in cycle I and again increased to 90,0% in cycle II. Thus, this study concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model type STAD can improve learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN. No. 031/XI Kampung Dalam year 2016/2017 on Social Sciences subjects.

Abstract

Penelitian Abdimas ini berjudul “Pelatihan Pengajaran Pembagian Bilangan Pecahan Bagi Guru Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Propinsi Jambi” di SD Negeri 21/IV.Jl KH A.Somad Rt 4 Kelurahan Mudung Laut Kecamatan Pelayangan Kota Jambi Kode Pos 36252. Tujuan Abdimas ini adalah untuk ; (1) Miningkatkan  kemampuan kecakapan hidup- life skill kepada guru – guru SD Negeri rayon KKG Kecamatan Pelayangan yang berpusat di SD Negeri 21/IV.Jl KH A.Somad Rt 4 Kelurahan Mudung Laut Kecamatan Pelayangan Kota Jambi Kode Pos 36252. (2) Memberi pemahaman kepada masyarakat mitra tetang Pengajaran Pembagian Bilangan Pecahan dan manfaat yang dihasilkan. (3) Menggugah jiwa pendidik yang professional dengan membentuk Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG). Abdi kepada Masyarakat ini merupakan model pendekatan Analisis Kebutuhan dan Intervensi sesuai dengan tujuan dan sasaran yaitu; Perizinan, Perekrutan, Sosialisasi program, Pelaksanaan Pelatihan. Secara simultan Pelatihan Pengajaran Pembagian Bilangan Pecahan Bagi Guru Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Propinsi Jambi  ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kecakap hidup/ life skill terutama guru-guru SD Negeri kelompok KKG, masyarakat mitra SD Negeri 21/IV.Jl KH A.Somad Rt 4 Kelurahan Mudung Laut Kecamatan Pelayangan Kota Jambi Kode Pos 36252.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the student’s learning outcomes in calculating the wide of many facets by applying cooperative learning model of group investigation type. The study involved 18 students of sixth class year 2016/2017 at SDN. No. 028/XI Tanjung, Hamparan Rawang Subdistrict, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This research is a Classroom Action Research that conducted in two cycles (Cycle I and Cycle II). Each cycle is done through two meetings with four activities namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research data was collected through observation and test. The data were processed by using descriptive analysis and simple statistical test. Application of cooperative learning model of group investigation type brought about changes in student learning activities. All students follow the learning with enthusiasm, follow all the learning stages in accordance with the rules, and can work together in groups. Most students have also been able to communicate the results of group work in front of the class and also have dared to submit feedback on the presentation of the results of other group discussions. The implementation of cooperative learning model of group investigation type also improves the learning outcomes of sixth grade students in SDN. No. 028/XI Tanjung year 2016/2017. Student’s learning outcomes seen from the mean and percentage of students who were able to fulfil the minimum criteria. Thus, cooperative learning model type group investigation can be an alternative to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, especially in calculating the wide of many facets.

Abstract

Menarche is the beginning of menstruation in a girl at puberty, which usually appears at the age of 11-14 years. Menarche is a sign of a social status change from child to adolescent, adolescent girls who have a neurotic tendency in the age of puberty experience many mental conflicts with the arrival of the first menstruation that can lead to pathological behavior (Sukarni k, et al 2013), the occurrence of Menarche at each Women are not the same because there are several factors that influence it, including socio-economic factors, heredity, social environment and also health factors and nutritional status. Teenagers who are obese usually tend to experience Menarche earlier than thin young women (Andira, D. 2010). Data obtained in SDN 205 City Jambi amounted to 45 respondents. Research Objectives Knowledge of Social Environment Relationship, Socioeconomic Status, Nutrition Status and Media Period simultaneously with the incidence of Early Menarche In schoolchildren grade V and VI SDN 205 City District Baru City Jambi. The design of this research is qualitative with analytical survey research method, using Cross Sectional approach. Population in this research is all student of class V and VI which Menarche early at SDN 205 City Jambi. The sample in this study is the total (Total Sampling) of grade V and VI students who have Menarche in SDN 205 City Jambi which amounted to 45 Respondents. In this investigation, Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate analyzes were conducted. The result of the analysis shows that there are social environment relation (p value 0.000), economic social (p value 0.000), nutritional status (p value 0.000) and mass media (p value 0.002). It is suggested to increase the counseling of Menarche early and Menarche pain to students and also to activate UKS activities.

Abstract

Based on health surveys, 30% of Indonesians are hypertensive.  Hypertension is a risk factor for the third-leading cause of death after stroke and tuberculosis, i.e. 67% of the population of deaths at all ages. The number of an elderly female with essential hypertension at the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city year 2017 as many as 191 people. This study aimed to determine is there the effect of giving progressive muscle relaxation techniques toward changes in blood pressure in elderly with essential hypertension. This study used one group pre-post test design method; it used simple random sampling technique, numbers of samples were 20 respondents. This study was conducted at Auditorium the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city from July 24th – 30th 2017. The instruments are Blood pressure measurement results, data analyzed as univariate and bivariate.  The findings indicated that p-value Systole blood pressure p-value = 0.000 and diastole p-value = 0.000, so it can conclude that there is the significant effect of Changes in blood pressure in the elderly with essential hypertension before and after the technique of progressive muscle relaxation at the public health center Simpang Kawat Jambi city.  It expected to Health workers can provide knowledge about progressive muscle relaxation technique exercises so that people with essential hypertension can control blood pressure independently at home.
