Abstract

The traditional game of karetan / pelencatan is the term of traditional game for Using tribe in Banyuwangi Regency. The traditional game of karetan / pelencatan uses a simple materials or tools from woven rubber bands (rubber bands strands). According to the size of agreement, usually about 3 or 4 meters in length, which is played in an open space and quite wide. The method used in this research is the ethnographic qualitative. This research examines the values of character building in traditional game of karetan / pelencatan in the community of Kemiren and Kabat village, whose the majority population is Using tribe. Data collection techniques used is observation, interview, and documentation. The result of the research on children's traditional  games of karetan / pelencatan not only as a playing facility, but also as a medium to shape the children's character, such as; belief in the power of the One Almighty God, honesty in the game, hard work in achieving victory, national spirit, and interaction with the social environment.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension ability of grade III students at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air year 2016/2017 Through the Application of Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) Methods. The research conducted is classroom action research. The study was conducted at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air, Kumun Debai District, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This study involved five third grade students. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research data was collected through tests and processed using simple statistical tests. The results showed that the application of the SQ3R method can improve student learning activities. All students have been able to read reading material quickly and thoroughly, make questions based on the contents of the reading, write answers to questions that have been made, and dare to read the results in front of the class. In addition, students also have the courage to respond well to answering teacher questions and providing responses to the results of training from other students. The application of the SQ3R method can also improve student learning outcomes. The average value of students increased from 56.00 (pre-action) to 68.00 in Cycle I and 78.00 in Cycle II. In addition, student learning completeness also increased from 40.00% (pre-action) to 80.00% in Cycle I and 100.00% in Cycle II. Thus, the application of the SQ3R method can improve the reading comprehension ability of third grade students at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air year 2016/2017

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia is a subject that must be followed by students from elementary school to college, including mastery of language skills that are reading, speaking, listening and writing developed Integrated. Class action research conducted to improve students ' ability to appreciate short stories with a contextual approach in class IX C of Xaverius 2 Jambi first secondary school. The study was conducted over two cycles. Each cycle takes three stages of the process, ranging from planning, action and reflection. In the first cycle, student learning results still show an average value of 56.95, while the level of activity and the creativity of students have qualitatively obtained an average value of 67.25 with the number of students who received less (below 50) value of 50% Of the number of participants/classes (18 persons). In the second cycle, indicating an increase in the number of students who gained sufficient value (55 – 70), which is from 9 (nine) people to 18 people for all categories of assessments and students who obtained a good value of 25% (9 people). Thus, the results gained indicate that through a contextual approach, students ' ability to appreciate short stories increased as expected.

Abstract

Pineapple fruit (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) is one type of tropical fruit that is consumed by many people. Pineapple is also commonly used by the community as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-coagulant, and anti-cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the antibacterial inhibitory effect of pineapple juice (Ananas comosus (L) Merr Var. Queen) on Eschericia coli bacteria. This study used an experimental laboratory method with disc diffusion and using ciprofloxacin disc as a positive control and distilled water as a negative control. Based on the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that pineapple juice (Ananas comosus (L) Merr Var. Queen) at a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% has the effectiveness as an antibacterial in inhibiting the growth of Eschericia coli bacteria.

Abstract

Human resources (labor) are the most difficult factors predicted by productivity because they have very many variables, both internal (age, ethnicity, experience, motivation, education) and external ones (composition of work groups, environment, supervision, system payroll). Labor is an expensive resource, and is a factor of production that contributes greatly to the completion of the project, because it is the workforce that manages and controls the material and work equipment. In this study the survey began from September 2017 to December 2017. The survey was conducted on the Sei. Saren-Teluk Nilau-Senyerang-Batas Riau road project. To complete the survey survey data carried out on 12 people who were scattered and 12 people pembesian, in which the masons are accustomed to doing their work with work experience that has been obtained, which each observation is done three working days, with three times a day for 30 minutes in one day. In artisan research, the productivity volume produced by artisans varies considerably between the first, second and third days, but the difference in productivity is not much different. This can be seen from the results of research which show that the average productivity produced on the first day is 0.64 M2 / minute, while on the second day the resulting productivity is 0.59 M2 / minute and on the third day is 0.85 M2 / minute. This data shows that the productivity produced every day is not much different. In this observation, it can also be seen the artisan productivity figures produced for three days with a variety of data collection in the morning, afternoon and evening, where the average value of productivity for three days is 0.69 M2 / minute and 16.5 M2 / artisan .

Abstract

Five-finger hypnosis is a movement that tightens and relaxes the muscles in one part of the body at one time which can present a relaxed condition physically and psychologically, by thinking of a pleasant experience (Keliat, 2011). Useful for giving inner peace to individuals. reduce anxiety, worry and anxiety, reduce tension and reduce blood pressure, lower heart rate and sleep soundly. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of five-finger hypnosis therapy against anxiety hypertension clients at Putri Ayu Health Center, Jambi City. Quasi experimental design pre-post test with without control. The sample was 33 people with a total sampling technique. The results showed that there was an effect of five-finger hypnosis therapy on anxiety in hypertensive clients (p value <0.05). There was a decrease in anxiety after five finger hypnosis therapy was carried out. Five finger hypnosis therapy is recommended to be applied as nursing therapy in treating hypertensive clients with anxiety.

Abstract

The study used two-cycle class action research. The target of this research is class IV students at SD Negeri 64/IV Jambi City. Data obtained in the form of formative test result, observation sheet of teaching learning activities. From the results analysts gained that the learning outcomes of learners experienced an increase from the pre cycle to the II cycle, the pre-cycle (47.5%), cycle I (70%) and cycle II (93.75%). The conclusion of this research is the Model of cooperative learning type Round Club can positively affect the outcome of students learning outcomes of Class IV elementary School 64/IV Jambi City, as well as this learning Model can be used as one alternative Study of Catholic religious Education.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental emotional disorders indicated by symptoms of depression and anxiety for ages 15 years and over reaches around 14 million people or 6% of the total population of Indonesia. While the prevalence of severe mental disorders, such as schizophrenia, reaches around 400,000 people or as many as 1.7 per 1,000 residents. Hallucinations are one of the symptoms of schizophrenic mental disorder. Therapy Activities Groups with perceptual stimulation are therapies that use activities to perceive various stimulations related to experience with life to be discussed in groups. The aim of the research was to know the effect of group activity therapy on hallucinogenic control ability in schizophrenic patients in Jambi Province Mental Hospital in 2018. This study used a quasi experimental design with a design of one group design with pretest and posttest. The study was conducted at the Jambi Province Mental Hospital in June-September 2018 with a total sample of 30 people taken by purposive sampling. The results of this study are that there is a significant effect of group activity therapy on hallucinogenic control ability in schizophrenic patients at Jambi Province Mental Hospital. This study is expected to increase knowledge, understanding and skills of mental nurses in treating or treating schizophrenic patients, to improve the ability to control the hallucinations of schizophrenic patients through therapeutic activities of perception simulation groups by applying group activity therapy.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk menemukan keefektifan dari penggunaan Strategi Inquiry Chart dalam pengajaran pemahaman membaca teks report terhadap siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan menyelenggarakan Tes Penempatan yang digunakan untuk memilih sampel dan Post-test yang digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks report setelah perlakuan.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas IPA sebelas di SMAN 12 Padang tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang terdiri dari empat kelas dengan total siswa 135 siswa. Sampel penelitian ini dipilih dengan menggunakan cluster random sampling. Sampel penelitian terpilih adalah kelas IX IPA3 sebagai kelas ekperimental (34 siswa) dan kelas XI IPA4 sebagai kelas control (34 Siswa). Dalam proses pengajaran, peneliti menggunakan Strategi Inquiry Chart pada kelas eksperimen dan Strategi Small Group Discussion pada kelas kontrol. Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman membaca. Dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Strategi Inquiry Chart memberikan hasil yang lebih baik terhadap kemapuan pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks report dibandingkan dengan Strategi Small Group Dicussion, dengan =3.823 >  0.05=1.668, sehingga Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Strategi Inquiry Chart efektif untuk digunakan sebagai strategi untuk mengajarkan pemahaman membaca report teks di SMAN 12 Padang.

Abstract

This research is backed up that the learning outcomes of elementary School 64/IV Jambi city is still low 58.69 with its submission to only 17.39%, which is only 4 people from 23 class III students elementary School 64/IV Jambi City. This is due to the lack of active participation and student involvement during the learning process. In addition before being addressed this PTK teacher has not used the Make A Match type method, just more using the lecture method. Teachers need to implement learning methods that can encourage student involvement in learning. The Make A Match type method is one of the methods that can fulfill these expectations. The purpose of this research is to know whether the Make A Match type method can increase learning activity and student learning outcomes. This research is a class action research (PTK) with the subject of research is a class III students of even semester (2) Elementary School 64/IV Kota Jambi.  The methods of data collection that are tested in this study are the methods of testing and observation. Collected Data is analyzed with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in student activity and learning outcomes after receiving learning with the Make A Match type method. The results of increased learning outcomes and student activity will experience an increase in the reading smoothly for students of class III D SD 64/IV of Jambi City. The increase in the I cycle of 64.58 Learning management while the II cycle has increased to be 89.58% very good category. If the management is very good certainly affects the outcome of learning and activity of students that is cycle I activity students 70.58 enough categories while cycle II multiply the increase to 92.83 category very well. Further to the results of learning in the I 65.22 cycle category is enough while the II cycle is experiencing a peningktan to 79.80 good categories. It can be concluded that using a problem-based learning method can improve learning activities and student learning outcomes.
