Abstract

This article discusses on poverty rate and inequality in urban and rural areas during 2011-15. It shows that poverty rate tends todecrease. The poverty in rural area is worse than that in the urban one. The urban poor people work in the informal sector or in the small business. The poor in the rural areas work in the agriculture sector. The majority of poorest provinces is in the east Indonesia. However, the majority of the poor people live in Java island. Eventough the income inequility in Indonesia is moderate, but it  has been increased since 2011. There are many more poor people above the national poverty line. The government could inprove rural and east Indonesia infstructure in order to increase agriculture production. In this way the poverty in rural area and the gap between east and west Indonesia could decrease.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) which is proxied through the proportion of independent commissioners, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, quality audits, and family ownership on the cost of debt. The objects of this study are companies listed in Compass 100 period August 2013 January 2014. The method used to take samples of the study using the purposive sampling method. Data analysis methods used are descriptive statistics, the classical assumption test, and the hypotheses test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing that was performed by using multiple regression analysis at the 0.05 significant level, the results of this study prove that the proportion of independent commissioners has a significant negative effect on the cost of debt. Managerial ownership has a positive significant effect on the cost of debt. Institutional ownership, quality audits, and family ownership have no significant effect on the cost of debt.

Abstract

A mutual fund is one of the interesting alternative modes of investment models for investors that do not have much time, knowledge and expertise in calculating the risk and investment return. This study is aimed to understand the influence of the mutual fund's characteristics: the expense ratio, fund size, turnover ratio, and the mutual fund's age towards the mutual fund's performance in Indonesia. This study has been conducted using the Fixed Effect Model with the White cross-section as the coefficient covariance method at 34 active equity mutual funds that existed in Indonesia during the 2012-2013 period. The result of this study has indicated that the expense ratio and the multi fund's age have a significant negative towards the the equities mutual funds in Indonesia while the fund size and the turnover ratios have a significant positive influence on the equity mutual fund's performance in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of net income (EAT), operating cash flow (OCF), and debt to equity ratio (DER) towards dividend per share (DPS) on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012-2015. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The number of samples that met the criteria was 172 companies. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that, simultaneously, all variables had a significant effect on DPS. Partially, the variable that had significant effect was EAT, while OCF and DER had no significant effect. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R2) showed that the effect of variables EAT, OCF, and DER simultaneously to DPS was 30,3%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the satisfaction level of the users towards the service quality of Trans Jogja which has been operating for 8 years since its launching. This research used the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method to measure the attributes that are perceived as important by the users compared to the performance all this time. The analysis was illustrated in a scatter diagram with 4 quadrants which showed the position of each attribute of the observed service quality. The attributes of service quality used referred to the 5 dimensions of Service Quality, they are reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, dan tangibles with some compliances to transportation service. The data were collected by using the convenience sampling method through the questionnaire containing 23 question items. From 130 questionnaires filled out by the users of Trans Jogja bus routes 2A and 2B, there were only 97 respondents who are feasible for the analysis. The results showed that in Quadrant I there are 4 attributes of service quality considered important by the users, however, the reality is still out of expectations. Meanwhile, in Quadrant II and III, the attributes and performance considered important by the users have met the expectations, so the management should maintain the performance of the attributes. In Quadrant III, there are 6 attributes considered less-important by the users and the performance are not special, so those are considered as less-prioritized to improve. Meanwhile, in Quadrant IV, there are only 2 attributes considered less-important by the users and perceived excessive for the performance, so that the management can allocate its resources on the other attributes. By these results, it is expected to the management of Trans Jogja bus to be able to concern on the important attributes as concerned by the users to satisfy them, so that the improvement on service quality can be more effective, both from the cost and other resources

Abstract

Job training and discipline is closely related to employee performance improvement in an organization. The better the job training and work discipline, the greater the encouragement of employees to move forward together with the organization. The aim of this study was to examine and explain directly influence job training and work discipline on employee performance. The research method uses quantitative research. Measurement scale used is the Likert scale, the population in this study all the production employees CV. Surya Kencana Food Jombang amounted to 280 people, a large sample used as many as 74 people. Penguumpulan engineering data using observations, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Variables that are rigorous job training and work discipline on employee performance. Data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis with significance level α = 0.05. The results showed that the job training (X1) has a test statistic t count equal to 2.148 and 0.026 significance, since the value t sig = 0.026 < α = 0.05, thus it can be stated that the job training influence on employee performance. Labour discipline (X2) has a test statistic t count equal to 2.243 and significant amounted to 0.040 since the value t sig = 0.040 < α = 0.05, thus it can be stated that the disciplinary effect on the work performance of employees. These results indicate that job training and work discipline and significant positive effect on employee performance in CV. Surya Kencana Food Jombang

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of price, service, location and diversity of products on purchase decisions on Hypermart Puri Indah, West Jakarta. The population in this study are consumers who shop at Hypermart Puri Indah. This study took a sample of 100 respondents. The results of this study prove that according to Government Regulation No. 46 the Year 2013 resulted in income tax payable is less than pursuant to Article 31e Income Tax Act
