Abstract

This article explains the importance of applying Arabic learning methods. In the learning process there are several methods of understanding the skill that must be mastered in learning. one of them is the muhasatsah method. In this article the reader is invited by the writer to the author to discuss various matters related to Muhadatsah method in learning Arabic. Including characteristics, benefits, principles, basic concepts, and language skill and objective. With us learning the method of muhadatsah in language learning, it is expected that we can do learning Arabic with the maximum and can motive students to be more happy and easy to learn Arabic.

Abstract

In learning Arabic, dictionaries are important thing in helping students understanding vocabulary. Understanding vocabulary does not depend on the translation directly but also requires illustrating the image to make students' understanding is easier.Especially, for students who have learned Arabic inMadrasah Ibtidaiyah. The supporting media in the form of dictionaries are expected to help students to be able to learn independently. The objectives of this study were to: (1) develop Arabic picture dictionary for 1st, 2nd, and 3rdgrade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and, (2) Describe eligibility of developing Arabic picture dictionary for for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study used development theory referring to the R & D model according to Borg and Gall. The subjects in this study were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Kalijogo Malang. The types of data in this study are quantitative and qualitative data. The data collection of this study obtained from (1) media expertise, (2) material expertise, (3) Arabic teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Kalijogo, and (4) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Kalijogo Malang. The results of this study are: (1) Arabic picture dictionary for 1st, 2nd, and 3rdgrade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, consists of 23 chapters that have been grouped according to themes and also classes, and this dictionary is equipped with aphorisms that motivate students in learning (2) eligibility of developing Arabic picture dictionary for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, declared valid with an average percentage of 86.35% of media experts, material experts, teachers, and students. Based on the results of this study, the researcher got some suggestions, which are: (1) the students,this Arabic picture dictionary can be used inside or outside the classroom to facilitate them to learning Arabic vocabularies. (2) the Arabic teachers, are using this dictionary as a supporting media to improve student learning motivation and as supporting teaching media in the classroom, (3) further researchers and other media developers, this media should be inspected for the imperfections, modified, enhanced, and developed again to make it better supporting media, and (4) Students of the Arabic Language Teaching Study Program, the results of this study can be used as material for another study and as a further development of another Arabic picture dictionary.

Abstract

At present there are so many languages ​​that we can know in this world, whether in the form of international languages ​​or even national languages. It is undeniable that Indonesia is a country that has many regional languages. In addition, as speakers of language, we rarely know the elements that exist in languages ​​such as phonetic studies. Because phonetics is one part of linguistic learning that studies various language sounds in general, and does not pay attention to meaning that is not functional. But in the application of linguistics at this time there are still many people who do not know the important elements in languages ​​such as phonetics especially in the study of phonetic Arabic. In addition, the relationship between Arabic and regional languages, namely Sundanese language which is very interesting to study, how the interrelation of the local language pentur in speaking Arabic which is a foreign language for their circles even though Arabic is one of the characteristics of the language of Muslims. The nature of this research is descriptive qualitative by analyzing data and using library research using trusted books and journals. This research can produce a phonetic learning of Arabic with speakers of regional languages ​​that have a distinctive dialect that is collaborated with Crowly's theory. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunakan metode debat meningkatkan prestasi keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam bahasa Inggris dan seberapa banyak debat berkontribusi pada setiap aspek keterampilan berbicara. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah kualitatif sebagai studi tindakan. Sebelas siswa Fakultas Keguaran dan Ilmu Pengetahuan jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris semester 5 menyelesaikan survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner survei sebagai teknik pengumpulan data, termasuk pertanyaan Ya atau Tidak dan satu pertanyaan pernyataan. Secara keseluruhan, para mahasiswa percaya bahwa debat adalah kegiatan belajar yang baik. Data penelitian ini adalah semua kegiatan dalam proses belajar mengajar terkait dengan fokus studi di bidang keterampilan berbicara yang berkaitan dengan siswa EFL, sedangkan proses belajar mengajar sebagai implementasi penulisan terintegrasi sebagai sumber data. Para responden percaya bahwa debat membantu meningkatkan dan membangun keberanian untuk keterampilan berbicara mereka. Selain itu, seperti klaim mahasiswa, manfaat lain dari debat termasuk membangun keberanian dengan argumen spontan, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, memiliki kosakata baru, dan belajar bagaimana berpikir dengan cara yang kritis.

Abstract

The Ministry of Education and Culture has directed the assessment model at Higher-order Thinking Skills (HOTS), but in reality, students are less trained in solving the model of this assessment. This cause the learning outcomes of students tend to be less by the teachers. Therefore, the assessments made by teachers should be on the basis of HOTS. This study aimed to find out the assessment level of reading comprehension formative assessment administered by the English teachers in reference to HOTS. This research is classified as quantitative descriptive research involving two English teachers in SMA 2 Brebes. The items of formative assessment are analyzed using the cognitive level of the revised Bloom. As a result, the researchers find that the questions categorized as HOTS level obtain 18 out of 91 questions or (19.78%). Meanwhile, 73 out of 91 questions or (80.22%) are categorized as LOTS level. It can be implied that HOTS based questions are not at the dominant level. However, the test meets the requirements of the minimum standard by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the National Exam (UN) that is between 15%-20%. But, it is still a little bit less to the position of PISA questions which requires 20%.

Abstract

This research was triggered by the problem of the status and role of the MAN 2 Kudus Arabic teachers in the community which is not always in line with the predicate of the guru agama which is inherent when teaching in madrasa. This study aims to describe the status and role of the MAN 2 Kudus Arabic teachers in the community, explore their arguments and subjective responses from various surrounding community clusters. This research is a case study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study stated: 1) All Arabic teachers in MAN 2 Kudus had social status and roles that penetrated several social fields, including medicine, organizational leadership, and spiritual counseling; 2) the relevance of the status and role of teachers in madrasas with within the community concerns three categories, indigenous Arabic teachers and migrants. Second, Arabic teachers graduated from Arabic Education (PBA) and non-PBA graduates. Third, senior and junior Arabic teachers; 3) The views of community institutions, religious leaders, madrassas, and ordinary people, related to the social status and role, First, Arabic teachers are not identical with guru agama. Second, Arabic teachers are identical to guru agama.

Abstract

Due to the Pandemic of Covid-19, teachers or lecturers must hold a full online teaching-learning process, so they should integrate technology into the teaching learning activities. To engage students in full online learning, Google Classroom, Edmodo, Kahoot, and Quizziz are some online learning platforms that are widely used by English teachers in teaching and learning. There are some video conference applications for doing video calls in the teaching-learning process, they are Zoom and Google Meet. This study focuses on students’ perceptions of the full online learning quality during the corona pandemic. The research involved 50 participants consist of students of the English Education program in the second semester of IAIN Purwokerto. The data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observation and were analyzed using the qualitative methods approach. The results of the study indicated that the majority of participants considered did not enjoy the full online learning in English teaching and learning is not effective and efficient in terms of time and phone credit. One of the reasons is the slow-speed internet is one of the difficulties in operating those applications. So, they feel they could not get maximum knowledge and information from their lecturers in full online teaching-learning activities.
