Abstract

In mobile-first collectivistic markets such as Indonesia, research has not yet clarified how consumers respond to virtual influencers (VIs), AI-driven characters that sell, entertain, and chat in parasocial spaces. Filling this gap is important because Indonesia is projected to become Asia’s fastest-growing e-commerce arena, valued at roughly ninety-five billion US dollars. We adapted the Artificial Intelligence Device Use Acceptance (AIDUA) model and surveyed 235 Instagram users aged 18 to 35 years who follow at least one VI. After pretesting, the final PLS-SEM model satisfied all reliability (CR ≥ 0.89) and convergent validity (AVE ≥ 0.73) thresholds and explained 37 percent of the variance in willingness to accept VIs. Positive emotion emerged as the strongest driver (β = 0.51, p < 0.001). Performance expectancy showed both a direct effect (β = 0.12, p < 0.05) and an indirect effect through emotion, whereas effort expectancy influenced acceptance solely through emotion. Perceived risk and social influence were not significant, confirming that feeling rather than function guides VI persuasion among young Indonesians. Brands should therefore pair clear decision support cues with local humor, everyday Bahasa, and low-friction interfaces to spark joy and reduce novelty skepticism, a strategy likely to accelerate VI adoption in other collectivistic mobile-centric economies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how profitability and leverage influence the likelihood of financial distress among technology companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2022 to 2024, and whether managerial ownership moderates these relationships. Using a quantitative research design with 102 firm-year observations, panel data regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses. The results show that higher profitability significantly reduces the risk of financial distress, while higher leverage increases it. Notably, managerial ownership strengthens both of these relationships—intensifying the protective effect of profitability and exacerbating the risk-enhancing effect of leverage. These findings suggest that while profitability supports financial stability, excessive debt remains a critical risk factor, and managerial ownership plays a dual role that can amplify both positive and negative outcomes. This highlights the importance of balanced financial policies and effective corporate governance in navigating the volatile, innovation-driven technology sector.

Abstract

The transformation of reward systems in the digital work era has become a strategic issue in human resource management. Reward systems are crucial not only as tools of appreciation but also as key mechanisms for building motivation, emotional attachment, and employee loyalty, which ultimately impact organizational performance improvement. This study aims to analyze the contribution of reward systems, both intrinsic and extrinsic to enhance employee engagement in digital platform-based work. Using a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection was conducted through systematic searches and in-depth analysis of relevant scientific literature from journals, books, and trusted articles published. This review examines the forms of rewards, their effectiveness, digital transformation, as well as mediating and moderating factors that influence employee engagement. The findings indicate that fair, personalized, and technology-based rewards significantly increase motivation, loyalty, and employees’ emotional attachment. Digitalization enables reward systems to become more adaptive and relevant to the needs of modern workers. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of a humanistic and contextual HR management strategy to address the challenges of a flexible and digitalized work environment.

Abstract

This study aims to identify benchmarks for developing employee performance by examining the effects of knowledge sharing and internal communication on performance, as well as understanding the mediating role of self-efficacy in these relationships at PT Marinal Indoprima. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected through Google Forms and interviews with 80 employees, determined using the Slovin formula from a total population of 369 employees. The collected data were processed using Smart-PLS software and analyzed through the SEM-PLS method, which allowed for the examination of complex relationships between multiple variables simultaneously. The findings reveal that employee performance is positively influenced by knowledge sharing, but not significantly affected by internal communication. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that self-efficacy mediates the relationship between knowledge sharing and performance, but does not mediate the relationship between internal communication and performance. Both knowledge sharing and internal communication were found to positively impact self-efficacy, and self-efficacy itself has a direct positive effect on performance. The results suggest that organizations should focus on enhancing knowledge sharing practices and fostering self-efficacy among employees to improve performance outcomes, while recognizing that internal communication alone may not directly drive performance improvements. Theoretically, this research contributes to the expansion of knowledge regarding performance escalation mechanisms in organizational settings and provides valuable insights into the complex interplay between communication practices, individual psychological factors, and performance outcomes in the context of Indonesian manufacturing companies.

Abstract

This study examines the configuration of personal and organizational factors as predictors of turnover intention in the logistics industry, which faces significant challenges related to employee turnover. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach was used to examine 20 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025. The selected articles met the inclusion criteria: discussing turnover intention, conducted in the logistics industry, and published in reputable journals. The results indicate that personal factors such as mental health, work-life balance, and demographics, and organizational factors such as organizational culture, leadership style, compensation, and workload, are interrelated in influencing turnover intention. Poor mental health and excessive workload are the main causes of stress, while supportive leadership and fair compensation contribute to employee retention. The theoretical implications of these findings emphasize the importance of an integrative approach between personal and organizational factors. Practically, these results encourage the development of comprehensive HR policies, such as mental health programs and flexible work policies. This study also opens up opportunities to explore external factors such as the economic crisis and validate the findings through empirical studies.

Abstract

Super Apps are versatile applications that integrate various financial services within a single platform. The Super Apps referred to in this research belong to conventional banks, such as Wondr by BNI, Bale by BTN, Livin' by Mandiri, BRImo by BRI, myBCA, and BYOND by BSI. Amidst an increasingly competitive financial landscape with the presence of digital banks and fintech, understanding Generation Z's preferences becomes crucial, given that they are the largest digital users and the banking industry's primary future market. This research endeavors to identify and analyze the factors influencing Generation Z's interest in using conventional bank Super Apps. The framework implemented is a quantitative associative approach; data was procured from 110 Generation Z respondents through purposive sampling. Multiple regression analysis was applied to the variables of convenience (X1), environmental influence (X2), service features (X3), digital experience (X4), bank reputation (X5), and promotion (X6) on the interest in using Super Apps (Y). The results show that convenience, environmental influence, digital experience, and bank reputation significantly affect interest. However, service features and promotion were not found to have a significant influence. These findings provide crucial insights for conventional banks in developing effective strategies to attract Generation Z.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of job insecurity and employee engagement on turnover intention, with mental health as a mediating variable, among employees at PT. Pos Indonesia. Using an associative quantitative approach and a saturated sample of 101 respondents, data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that job insecurity does not significantly affect mental health or turnover intention. In contrast, employee engagement has a positive and significant impact on both mental health and turnover intention. However, mental health did not mediate the relationships between job insecurity or employee engagement and turnover intention. Notably, high levels of engagement appear to increase turnover intention, likely due to work-related pressure and unbalanced workloads. These findings suggest that while engagement is beneficial, it may also lead to negative outcomes if not managed properly. The study implies that organizations should focus on equitable workload distribution, implement mental health support programs, and monitor work-related stress to better retain high-performing employees.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of burnout and compensation on the job performance of personnel in the Surabaya Regional Police, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. Using an explanatory research design and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data were analyzed from 84 respondents selected from a population of 518 officers using the Slovin formula. The findings reveal that lower levels of burnout and higher compensation significantly improve job performance, both directly and indirectly through increased job satisfaction. Specifically, reduced burnout enhances job satisfaction, which in turn boosts performance, while higher compensation not only increases satisfaction but also strengthens organizational citizenship behavior, further contributing to better performance. These results highlight the importance of addressing employee well-being and fair compensation in law enforcement organizations to enhance satisfaction and operational effectiveness. This research provides practical insights for human resource management in public security sectors aiming to improve workforce productivity and morale.

Abstract

The increasing number of patient visits at the Wonokusumo Community Health Center demonstrates the importance of first-level healthcare facilities (FKTP) as the frontline of the National Health Insurance (JKN) service. Wonokusumo Community Health Center experienced a decline in patient satisfaction, leading to a desire to migrate to other healthcare facilities. This study aims to analyze the relationship between service quality and healthcare facilities on patient satisfaction and their impact on BPJS patient migration intentions. A quantitative approach was used with the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The sample consisted of 252 BPJS patients using Maternity and Child Health (KIA) clinic services, selected using the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that service quality had a p-value of 0.003 and health facilities had a p-value of 0.007, both significantly influencing patient satisfaction, while patient satisfaction significantly influenced the desire to migrate with a p-value of 0.000. Health facilities and service quality did not significantly influence the desire to migrate for BPJS patients, with p-values of 0.161 and 0.101, respectively. This study provides important implications for the management of community health centers, focusing on improving service quality and facilities to maintain patient loyalty.
