Abstract

There are many of learning approaches and methods that could produce an active students in the learning process. The teacher has important role to engage students in the learning process. Discussion method is a kind of teaching method that believed could solve problems by exchanging ideas with mutually consensus among group members and participants. Discussion method is a way of presenting a lesson, where students are faced with a problem, which can be either statements or questions are problematic to be discussed and solved together. Nevertheless, the discussion method are facing the problem in terms of fiqh study areas. Some of students consider trivial and seem less interested in studying the field of fiqh study, so the impact on the results obtained by the students. There were some issues raised in this study: first, to determine the learning plan fiqh by using the method of discussion at High School Darussalam. Second, to examine the implementation of fiqh study by using the discussion method at High School Darussalam. And third, to find out the learning outcome fiqh by using the method of discussion on student High School Darussalam. This research was kind of qualitative researchwhich aimed to describe or analyze the phenomenon, events, social activities, beliefs, perceptions, thoughts people individually or in groups. The tools used are observation, documentation and interview. The finding of the research could be carried out in three phases, planning through the process of preparing teaching materials, syllabus and lesson plans. In this phase of implementation is in accordance with what was previously planned. The planning phases was discussion method preparation until discussion method implementation in some specific material. The outcome presents a critical changes, particularly at the mastery of materials, the seriousness of learning and the value obtained through discussion method.

Abstract

The mission to observe the Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) from the space is not really new because it has been started from long time ago. The first mission was the Skylab which used a 1.4 GHz microwave radiometer in 1970’s. But this mission is still not as comprehensive as other missions which observe such as Sea Surface Temperature (SST), Sea Surface Height (SSH), Ocean Color, and so on. Realizing the importance of SSS distribution in the ocean and its influences to the Earth’s climate system has motivated the scientists to develop a new technique in observing the SSS from space and lead a mission called the SMOS mission which was launched in November 2, 2011. Besides observing the SSS, this mission observes the Soil Moisture as well. The Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission aims to obtain global and regular measurements on the soil moisture and the ocean salinity. These measurements are essential for climate and hydrological models, among other purposes. SMOS payload is a L band (21 cm, 1.4 GHz) 2D interferometric radiometer on a generic Proteus platform. The mission lifetime is at least 3 years (0.5 for commissioning and 2.5 for normal operation) + 2 years (extended operation) + 10 years for the post-mission processing. Raw physical data, level 1 and level 2 products will be produced by the PDPC (SMOS Payload Data and Processing Centre). It is an ESA center located in Villafranca (Spain) and operated under the responsibility of ESA. The SMOS Ocean Salinity objective is accuracy better than 0.1 psu, with 10 days to monthly grid scale (200 km).

Abstract

Several researches have been conducted about "Analysis of Heavy Metal Content Mercury (Hg) On Whitening Face Cream Circulating On Percut Sei Tuan Sampali area with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS)". The research study was run at the Health Central Laboratory of North Sumatra. This study aimed to determine the levels of mercury (Hg) in the whitening face creams that ciirculating in the Percut Sei Tuan Sampali district. It also need to determine the levels of mercury (Hg) from Percut Sei Tuan Sampali area that accordance with the Regulation No. HK.03.1.23.07.11.6662 POM. However, this was an experiment study with a random of 5 samples among the whitening face cream at Percut Sei Tuan Sampali area. Thus, this area presented that the heavy metal mercury (Hg) from 5 samples were obtained the results that samples 1A was 1.5429 mg / L, samples 2A is 1.5334 mg / L, samples 3A is 1.4851 mg / L, samples 4A is 1.4916 mg / L, the sample 5A is 1, 5180 mg / L. However, the results showed that the mercury (Hg) value was above the levels was determined by BPOM RI, (the permission terms of heavy metal contamination Mercury (Hg) 1 mg / L No. HK.03.1.23.07.11.6662 in 2011). Thus, it was necessary to supervise the facial whitening cream in the Percut Sei Tuan Sampali society.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors that influence the effectiveness of practical woodworking and determine the effectiveness of woodworking practical from the perspective of students of secondary vocational schools in the province of Aceh. Factors - factors studied were the workshop equipment, workshop environment. This study was designed to investigate the significant differences concerning factors woodworking practical effectiveness based on demographic factors. A total of 130 respondents were randomly selected from six vocational schools in the province of Aceh. The instrument consists of a set of questionnaire consisting of 49 items and distributed second level students. The results showed there is no significant difference between factors - factors woodworking practical effectiveness based on demographic factors except the income level of the parents and the parents’ workplace. This shows there is a significant effect of the four factors, the effectiveness of practical woodworking, accounting for 60.6% (R2 = 0.606) changes in the variance in effectiveness of hands-on woodworking, and between the two of these factors, the workshop environment is the factor that most influences the effectiveness of the practical work wood, contributing 43.3% (R2 = 0.433) of the variance in effectiveness of woodworking practical.

Abstract

Electrical energy crisis related to the increasing population in an area will increase the electrical energy customers. Besides diminishing reserves of fossil energy that is required of alternative energy from renewable energy sources. The problem is in incorporating a potential source of renewable energy with a generator needs power generation hybrid, the hybrid system with a generator as backup energy utilization is less than optimal because when there was a deficit power generator takes over all of the power wasted in renewable energy generation. The purpose of study is to produce a hybrid system design between the generation of solar energy, wind energy and generator as support (support) when the power deficit in energy of renewable generator. Research Method in the design of hybrid system is a design block diagram consisting of solar panels, wind turbines, inverters, and generator. At this stage it has produced research outputs in the form of models of hybrid renewable energy generation systems and generators, then make a circuit simulation and measurement. The results of this research is a hybrid system that works adaptive- connected the generator to the system when the power deficit or increase the load to provide power support on renewable energy generation. This hybrid system with a capacity of 3.5 kW less power than the previous system with the composition generator 5.7 kW 2.2 kW of renewable energy consists of a 1 kW solar panels, wind turbines 1.3 kW and 1.3 kW generator voltage at 310V DC bus coupling, the voltage on the bus coupling AC 220V / 50 Hz, total load current at 16A. The percentage utilization of renewable energy rose from 11.73% to 24,94% and generator utilization fell from 24.50% to 16.74%.

Abstract

The fertility a body of water can be studied based of oceanographic parameters. The fertility of a body of water is closely related to high and low distribution of chlorophyll-a in the water High and low distribution of chlorophyll-a in a body of water can be studied by using satellite imagery. One of them by using satellite imagery Aqua Modis. Steps being taken: download imagery from MODIS website, cutting the image. Extract information from images, interpolation, and the division of classes. Aceh waters more fertile in June, July, and August compared to September and October. Aceh waters more fertile in the coastal area compared to the offshore area.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Polytechnic in Malaysia. This study was designed with Context, Input, Process and Product (CIPP) model. Project-Based Learning is a different approach than the traditional learning in the sense that it is a student-centered learning approach based on the principles of constructivism. This study involved a random sample of 118 students and 43 supervisors in the Mechanical Engineering Department in Polytechnic Kota Bharu Malaysia. The instrument used in this study were a set of questionnaire. In terms of finding ideas, both students and supervisors agreed that students were encouraged to assess the real problem by their supervisors. However, the supervisors were uncertain whether the students went to the library to get the ideas for their project. In addition, the supervisors were barely agreed about the creativity of the students in finding the project ideas. However, students and their supervisors believed that critical thinking and creativity were needed in the Project-Based Learning. The respondents also believed that e-SOLMS helped the students to work in group to complete the project.

Abstract

Energy needs in Indonesia in particular and the world in general continue to rise due to population growth, economic growth and energy consumption patterns themselves are constantly increasing. One of the fast growing renewable energy in the world today is wind energy. Wind energy is a renewable energy that is very flexible. In general, the utilization of wind power in Indonesia is less attention. Until 2004, the installed capacity of wind power utilization is only up to 0.5 MW from 9:29 GW potential. One method used to measure the wind energy potential of wind energy for electricity generation is by using the Weibull method. From the analysis that has been carried out by the method of Weibull can be concluded that the wind energy potential of wind energy for electricity generation in Banda Aceh does not meet the eligibility criteria.
