Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian inin adalah untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan bibit bawang merah impor terhadap produktivitas, keuntungan dan daya saing bawang merah di Kabupaten Brebes. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Matriks Analisis Kebijakan (Policy Analysis Matrix/PAM). Metode ini dapat untuk mengetahui efisiensi ekonomi, daya saing dan dampak kebijakan pemerintah terhadap sistem usahatani bawang merah. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer (hasil wawancara dengan petani) dan sekunder dari instansi terkait (BPS, Deperindag, Deptan, FAO, Bank Indonesia dan World Bank). Dari hasil analisis diketahui usahatani bawang merah pada dasarnya masih menguntungkan Petani yang menggunakan bibit bawang merah impor menghasilkan produksi dan keuntungan (privat dan social) lebih tinggi dibanding yang menggunakan varietas lokasl. Disamping itu juga diketahui adanya kebijakan pemerintah di pasar input telah menyebabkan petani membeli input dengan harga yang lebih tinggi disbanding harga sesungguhnya.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) getting data about woman farmer profile characteristic which managing beef cattle farm; (2) identifying requirement, supplementary and resistor factor of woman farmer in beef cattle farm development; and (3) to formulate the appropriate effort intervention to woman in management of beef cattle farm.It is descriptive method which used to explain woman farmer which managing beef cattle farm in Pagak village Sumberlawang Region Sragen District. Data was collected by interview technique with relevant stakeholders, interview with woman farmer which managing beef cattle farm to know their characteristic, FGD (Forum Group Discussion) with women farmer which managing beef cattle farm.Result of this research are: first, description of woman farmer profile manage beef cattle farm covering age, formal education, non-formal education, amount of cattle had, and status of ownership of cattle. Second, requirement, supplementary and resistor factor is known to relate at Seven Program of beef cattle farm i.e. election of seed, ready of woof, house, reproduction, management, time after harvest and marketing. Third, that woman farmer which managing beef cattle farm have big role in improving economic earnings of family, so that woman farmer require to be powered by unionized of grouping; then give them by training related to reinforcement their group, especially training of beef cattle farm woof ferment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the income amount of from the agriculture business of beef cattle, to analyze the income contribution of beef cattle business toward the farmer income and exploring the efficiency of beef cattle business.The research basic method is using the analysis descriptive method. The selection of research area conduct purposively that is in Karanganyar regency because of its potentiality for the development of beef and the ability of the natural condition to support the business. This business also improves beef population amount for many years and develops the beef quality toward the improvement of local beef. After that, the sampling area is intentionally chosen in the basic of the largest amount of the beef, and the place is Jumantono. For the sampling farmer it is used proportional random sampling. The number of respondent is 40 people consist of 22 people from Genengan village and 18 people from Sringin village. The data which is gathered consist of primary and secondary data using the questioner, observation, and notation. The research is needed a year observation from September of 2001 to August of 2002 during the running of the beef cattle business.The research results show that the average ofbeef property is 1,6 beef/cattle business. The average income of this business is Rp. 2.428.750,00/cattle business/year or Rp. 349.316,41/beef/year. It can be concluded that the income Rp.1.496.093,75/cattle business/year or Rp. 935.058/beef/year. Meanwhile, the average contribution of this business toward the farmer income is 33,6%. The beef cattle business efficiency (R/C ratio) is 2,6, it shows that this business is beneficial. The efficiency can only be achieved by better and advance maintenance and also considering the feed composition, health, and breeding of the beef by using the artificial insemination.

Abstract

The aims of the research were to know income and economic efficiency level of smallholder goat farming, and to know the factors affecting them. The research was held on April 12th-24th, 2000. The research was done using survey method and the samples were taken by purposive random sampling. Total respondents are 200 farmers. The research variables were income level (Y1) and economic efficiency (Y2) as dependent variables, and the independent variables were the number of goat owned, feed cost, farmer’s age, farmer’s education level, breeding experience, farming system, and farmer’s main job. The data are analyzed using multiple regression analysis with Cobb-Douglas production function model, F-test and t-test. The results of this research showed that income level of smallholder goat farming in Kradenan Subdistrict, Grobogan Regency is Rp.338.323,00 per year per farmer and economic efficiency level is 2,20. The socio-economic factors such the number of goat owned, feed cost, farmer’s age, farmer’s education level, breeding experience, farming system, and farmer’s main job altogether influence very significant (P<0,01) to income level and economic efficiency. Whereas partially, the number of goat owned, feed cost, breeding experience and farmer’s man job influence very significant (P<0,01) to income level, and the number of goat owned, feed cost and farming system influenced very significant (P<0,01) to economic efficiency.

Abstract

Study on the Use of Various Explants Material and Growth Controlling SUbtaces on Teak (Tectona grandis) in In Vitro Propagation. The research was done in Biology Laboratoy and Tissue Culture Laboratory of Sebelas Maret University. The research aim to study the effect of explant material (seeds, buds, nodes), effect of Growth Controlling Subtaces (IAA and BAP), and interaction effect of explants material and concentration of Growth Controlling Subtances to the growth of Teak which was propagated in vitro.The research was carried in two experiments using factorial design which was arranged in completely randomized. The first experiments employed two treatment, IAA concentration and Explant material; while the second experiment employed the treatment of BAP concentration and explants materials.The research concluded that propagation of teak using nodes was better than using seeds and buds. Application of 4 pp/1 IAA and 4 ppm BAP increased the number of teak buds. There was a significant interaction effect between explants material and the use of IAA and BAP.

Abstract

Efficacy of livestock is very determined by feeds. High or low livestock production depending on amount and feeds quality given, either in sheep production. Sheep will not be optimal production if only given by grass, so it needed supplement by other feeds materials contains high nutrition materials like legume and concentrate.By giving concentrate to sheep, it can improve growth, flesh production and also crabbed weight. But used of concentrate require to be considered. Because it’s costly is price so that can cause the expense of feeds become high. Therefore require to be searched by alternative materials which in big supply, easy to get, its price cheap but can support high production, and have no or a little competition with use for the livestock of other livestock for example poultry and ruminant. One of the materials is industrial disposal processing of soy. At processing of soy become Tempe or ketchup, it is produce waste in the form of Tempe dregs, Tofu dregs and ketchup dregs. Seen from its nutrient content, especially harsh protein and energy, the dregs have potency to be used as livestock feeds, especially upon which supplementation in feeds of sheep livestock.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Agustus 2002 sampai Januari 2003 di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian UNS, Surakarta. Bahan utama penelitian berupa 100 buah salak bali berbiji satu, 20 buah salak bali berbiji dua. Data dianalisis dengan analisis kontingensi. Rerata jumlah buah salak bali tiap tandannya adalah 15 buah, dengan jumlah biji per buah antara 1-2. Salak bali tidak ada yang berbiji 3. Berat biji dan bentuk permukaan biji dari buah salak bali berkorelasi dengan jumlah biji perbuah, biji dari buah berbiji satu lebih berat dengan bentuk permukaan biji bulat. Sedangkan untuk biji salak bali dari buah berbiji dua lebih ringan dengan bentuk permukaan biji adalah pipih. Variabel pengamatan morfologi daun yang penyebarannya berkorelasi dengan jumlah biji perbuah yaitu bibit dari buah berbiji satu mempunyai daun pertama dan kedua hijau tua dan hijau, dan sudut daun yang pertama lebih besar. Ciri morfologi yang seragam meliputi warna permukaan bawah daun, warna permukaan atas daun ketiga, sudut ujung daun pertama dan kedua, dan panjang helaian daun pertama dan kedua, lebar daun ketiga, dan bentuk ibu tulang daun, serta tidak adanya cincin pada permukaan biji.
