Abstract

Wide scope of the newspaper circulation not further becomes increased values that can be stronger the market. When the newspaper likely cone be “attendant” a limited community (local), newspaper will to try appear as superior and established in market community that will be reach. The research is done to know segments, target and position of Solopos newspaper as the basic of their marketing strategies. Data intrepetation is done through survey with questioner methods that spread to Solopos’s customer in fifthten village chief in Surakarta. The methods of processing data using multivariate analysis i.e. cluster analysis uses to find out the customers’ group based on their similar perception, Multi Dimensional Scaling Analysis and Correspondence Analysis used to mapping the position of Solopos among its competitor. Output of this research is that Solopos customer grouping into three segments, with different characteristics i.e. occupation, income, and position in family. First segment consist of customer which has more interest on news completely, style language, price agree with quality and easy to get its. Respondent in second segment inclined negative characteristic to some part of the attribute. Third segment more interest on headline, actuality, factuality, and inexpensive price and appropriate to ship the product. Position mapping show that the position of brand’s point is far from each other. It means that customer’s perception on each newspaper is differently or each brand has its uniqueness. Furthermore, known that Solopos has specialty on service and promotion. Based on the result of data analysis, Solopos would be able to be offered for community’s group of first and third segment, because of the specialty that is service. The design of marketing mix includes maintaining the quality and price, increasing the promotion and service that are Solopos’s specialty.

Abstract

The Taguchi Method is one of method that is applied in off line control activities in the design ofproduction process stage. In the production process of interior gypsum, there are many handicaps found when gypsum is going to be taken out of the matrix and placed. Thus, it will make loss in both the company and the customers. The goal of this research is to determine influential factors to the produced interior gypsum, to determine Analysis of variance (Anova) and to count Signal to Noise Ratio (SN ratio), to determine the best setting level from the influential factors, and to count the quality loss function for knowing the loss made by handicapped product. This research uses experiment method and the experiment is done in three stages. The first is based on the company setting and uses 30 samples. The second is based on the applied orthogonal array, L8 (27), and uses 4 replications for every level combination. The third is based on optimum setting and uses 10 samples. From the data processing, there is average rise of compressive strength examination up to 12,63 kg/cm2. This optimum setting will reduce the loss experienced by the company and customers. It can be seen from the value of quality loss function gained before and after applying optimum setting.

Abstract

As a textile company which produces grey, PT. Primissima surely needs high quality yarn which is also produced in its factory as its main basic material. Decline in yarn quality that significantly happened on May until August 2004 causes negative effects to the company, especially in customer satisfaction. Analysis of process stability and capability is should be done to prove and explain the problem, particularly on the existing spinning III process. Analysis using Six Sigma method begins with identifying customer needs, then mapping customer needs into the critical to quality characteristics (CTQ), determining CTQ priority level based on customer importance rating and customer satisfaction rating, and last, measuring sigma value, process stabilityand process capability of the CTQ top priority level. The result that focused on unevenness yarn CTQ shows, with sigma value of 4.07 sigma, process condition isn’t stable and capable enough to meet the company’s specification target. From the process analysis is also obtained information that many factors like environment, machine, tool, process, material, employee, and measurement system are supposed causing the problem. Improvement and control suggestions are also given here.

Abstract

Papadopoulos et.al (2004) has developed system analysis method by combining the FTA and FMEA methods. Generally, the combining method consist of FTA step and FMEA step. On this research, FTA step is used to describe the problem by finding its basic events and minimal cut set. Then FMEA step is used to determine problem elimination priorities based on their Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. Severity, occurence and detection is used to determine the RPN value.

Abstract

Experiment use Taguchi method, with quality characteristic is shear strength at brazing joint based on standard examination of AWS C3.2M/C3.2:2001, while anticipated factor can improve shear strength is temperature, time held up and refrigeration method at heat treatment process. Data processing use two analysis to determine optimal level setting, consist of analysis of mean and analysis of signal to noise ratio, then conducted confirmation experiment to test value of factor level setting predicted at optimal condition.
