Abstract

Noni plants (Morinda citrifolia L.) can be found in the territory of Indonesia. The utilization of noni plants is not widely known by the Indonesian people. This plant has active compounds in the form of vitamin C, vitamin E, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, and alkaloids. The purpose of this study was to formulate and evaluate the preparation of peel-off gel mask and face mist produced. The diverse local potential of Indonesian plants needs to be integrated as a learning resource into the biology learning process. The goal is for students to realize the potential of their respective regions. Local potential can be explored through various biology teaching materials, one of which is teaching materials on the utilization of biodiversity. This type of research is experimental research. This study was conducted with the aim of making and evaluating a product, namely the preparation of peel-off gel mask and face mist from noni fruit extract. This research was conducted at the Biology Laboratory of Ali Maksum Krapyak High School, Yogyakarta and at Ahmad Dahlan University Pharmacy LAMDA (Analysis Laboratory). Noni fruit samples were taken from the Sleman area, Yogyakarta. The stages of this research were formulating noni fruit extract, preparation and physical evaluation of various organoleptic tests, pH tests, dry time tests, and spreadability and stickiness tests. The organoleptic test observation results of the peel-off gel mask are clear yellowish white, typical noni odor with jasmine perfume essence, thick and homogeneous shape. The pH value is 6. The dry time test is 20 minutes. The spreadability test is 5-7 cm and the stickiness test is 08.56 seconds. Organoleptical observation of face mist is clear white, typical odor of noni with essence jasmine, liquid form. The pH value is 5.5. The conclusion from these results is that the manufacture and evaluation of peel-off gel mask preparations and face mist from noni fruit extract (Morinda citrifolia Linn.) is safe to use and can be used as a learning resource for cosmetic plant-based biodiversity utilization sub-materials.

Abstract

This research is an exploratory study conducted in Batang Regency. The research samples, namely bitter mustard (Brassica juncea L.) and petsai (Brassica pekinensia L.) leaves, were collected in December 2022. The selection of research samples is based on the level of production and availability. The data analysis method used in the research is descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that bitter mustard (Brassica juncea L.) and petsai mustard (Brassica pekinensia L.) have the same epidermal characteristics, namely irregularly shaped epidermal cells with notched cell wall edges and elongated polygonal cells with flat cell wall edges. The epidermal derivatives found are stomata and trichomes. The stomata of the study sample have anisocytic type, closed slit condition, but have different sizes (length and width), index and density. Trichomes have a simple needle-like hair type on the edge of the leaf, but have different sizes (length and width). The differences in the research samples can be observed quantitatively.

Abstract

Learning is a basic process of human development. By learning, humans make changes so that their behavior develops. Learning is not just an experience, but learning is a process and not a result. In learning activities at school, educators are faced with a number of very diverse student characteristics. The learning difficulties found at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta were found to be the average class score in biology subjects was still below the KKM. The purpose of this study was to determine the internal and external factors that cause students to experience learning difficulties and to determine the level of difficulty in learning biology in understanding virus material. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population used in this study was 152 with a sample of 79 students. This research was conducted on June 6-7, 2024. This study used a cluster sampling technique because the data sources used were very broad. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique for this study used descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that the internal factors that caused students in class X (E2, E4 and E4) to have difficulty learning biology on the virus material were physiological factors in the moderate category, with a percentage of 48%, 49.11% and 50%. External factors that caused students in class X-E2 to have difficulty learning biology on the virus material were school factors with a percentage of 74% in the high category, for class X-E4 were school factors with a percentage of 75% in the high category and for class X-E5 were family factors with a percentage of 76.78% in the high category. The biology sub-materials that were considered difficult on viruses were types of viruses and the life cycle of viruses

Abstract

KKO is a special class for talented students in the field of sports. Biology scores of KKO students at SMA Negeri 1 Sewon are usually low due to fatigue and many sports activities outside of school. This study aims to determine: (1) The effect of learning motivation on the biology learning outcomes of students in class X KKO SMA Negeri 1 Sewon. (2) The effect of student perceptions of teacher teaching methods on the learning outcomes of students in class X KKO SMA Negeri 1 Sewon. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of X class students. Data were collected through documentation and questionnaires, and analyzed by simple regression. The results showed: (1) Learning motivation has a positive influence on biology learning outcomes with rx|y 0.745 and r2 xy|0.555. (2) Students' perceptions of teachers' teaching methods als2o have a positive effect on biology learning outcomes with rx|y 0,908 and r y 0,824.x|

Abstract

Science learning at junior high school level plays an important role in providing students with a good understanding of complex biological concepts. However, conventional learning approaches limited to the use of textbooks and lectures are often less interesting for students and less effective in facilitating their learning. This research aims to explain how the utilization of interactive multimedia can improve science learning at MTs N 7 Sleman. In addition, this study also discusses the role of interactive multimedia in facilitating collaborative learning in the classroom along with the tools applied. The type of research used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The technique used in data collection uses semi-structured interview techniques conducted virtually using the Google meet platform. By applying interactive multimedia in Biology learning at MTs N 7 Sleman, it is expected that students can be more involved, enthusiastic, and gain a better understanding of Biology concepts. This will help improve the quality of education at MTs N 7 Sleman and prepare students to face the challenges of science and technology in the future.
