Abstract

There are several phenomena related to adolescent self-confidence, namely feeling ashamed of appearance, not being able to socialize, not being able to voice their opinions when in public and they are given the opportunity to ask questions, they are more silent, and unable to display their skills because they are ashamed of their classmates. This study aims to see how effective group counselling with game techniques is to increase adolescent self-confidence. The research method used is the experimental method of one group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects consisted of 5 students with low self-confidence who participated in group guidance activities with playing techniques for 6 sesions. The results showed that group caunselling services with game techniques were effective in increasing adolescent self-confidence.

Abstract

Weak student learning strategies lead to low learning outcomes so group guidance is carried out using the discussion method, but the activity objectives have not been achieved. Therefore used a group guidance approach with cooperative learning methods to improve student learning strategies. The research subjects were students of class VII UPT SMPN 2 Sitiung. This study uses the Guidance and Counseling Action Research method. Data was tested using the Paired Samples Test (T test). The results of the group guidance approach with the Cooperative Learning method can significantly improve student learning strategies.

Abstract

Consuming too much alcohol will affect one's attitudes and actions. The factors that can trigger this habit can be in the form of an environment that has a habit of consuming liquor, joining friends, experimenting, and so on. Apart from that, consuming liquor is also usually used by some people as an escape from the problems that are being experienced, where the intoxicating effect of alcohol in liquor can provide a momentary sense of calm for those who consume it. This study aims to reduce the level of drinking habits in Maumere students with cienematherapy techniques with pre-experiments with a one-group pretest and post-test design. The research subjects were eight students who had high criteria for the habit of consuming liquor. Giving treatment using group counseling using Cinematherapy techniques for eight meetings. The data collection instrument in this study used a scale of student drinking habits which was given at the beginning and end of the treatment and observation of each meeting. The results of the study were in the form of observation sheets and the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showing changes in scores before and after treatment. So it can be concluded that the Cinematherapy technique is effective in reducing the habit of consuming liquor among Maumere students at Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang.

Abstract

Ideally freshmen can adjust to the academic demands of higher education. In addition, freshmen also need to adjust to life as a student university. The inability to adjust in the early days of being a student university has the potential to cause psychological conditions that are not conducive, so that freshmen tend to be at a low level of happiness. This condition if left unchecked can reduce academic achievement and ineffectiveness in living life. The purpose of this research is to describe the happiness of freshmen. This research involved 314 freshmen of the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) as respondents. The research instrument used is the Happiness Scale. Analysis of the research data used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that overall the average value of the happiness level of freshmen is 54.94 with an ideal score of 80. Furthermore, the percentage value of freshmen happiness is 68.67%. This shows that the happiness level of freshmen is in the high category. Furthermore, demographic data on the happiness level of freshmen shows that freshmen of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program are at the highest level of happiness compared to freshmen of other study programs at the Faculty of Education UNP, while the freshmen of the Teacher Education for Early Childhood Education Study Program is at the lowest level of happiness. University counseling centers have an important role in increasing the happiness of freshmen through proper counseling services.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the level of culture shock, sosial interaction and self-adjustment experienced by overseas students of the Guidance and Counseling study program at PGRI Kanjuruhan University Malang, examine the effect of culture shock on sosial interaction of overseas students, and examine the effect of culture shock on self-adjustment of overseas students. This research uses descriptive correlation quantitative method. The research population was 143 guidance and counseling students from class 2020 to 2022. The research sample was 33 overseas students from outside Java, taken with simple random sampling technique. The instruments used were the Culture Shock Scale developed by researchers with a reliability of 0.798 and the Sosial Interaction Scale developed by researchers with a reliability of 0.734, and the Self-Adjustment Scale developed by researchers with a reliability of 0.726. The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of culture shock on the sosial interaction of overseas students, and there is an influence of culture shock on the self-adjustment of overseas students.
