Abstract

The phenomenon of workplace romance is an integral part of organisational dynamics. Workplace romance might result in both positive and negative effect. The negative side of workplace romance bears the phenomenon of workplace affair, in which workers engage in extra-marital relations with each other. This research aims to test whether past behaviour, conscientiousness personality, which a part of big five model personality traits and attitude have an impact on the likelihood of employee’s engagement in the workplace affair. As many as 250 workers in Greater Jakarta participated in the survey with minimum tenure six months as criteria of sampling. The analysis of data is performed using structural equation modelling (SEM) process. The result indicates that workers who have workplace romance engagement in their past behaviour would affect the attitude of perceiving workplace romance. The attitude itself plays as a mediator between past behaviour and the engagement of workplace affair. At the same time, personality determinant does not give any significant effect on attitude and engagement in workplace affair. To mitigate the issue of workplace affair, the organisation needs to perform background checking prior accepting the employees since the past behaviour of engagement in workplace romance is the reliable indicator of future likelihood in workplace affair engagement. While the previous research studies about the effect of workplace romance, this study emphasize deeper into the findings from the workplace affair perspectives, which is the negative effect of workplace romance. Keywords: Workplace romance, Workplace affair, Attitude, Past behaviour, Conscientiousness* Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia, Jl. Abstract

Environmental concern is one of the linchpins of business anxieties since post-industrial era in India. In the current scenario where the corporates in India are committing to green supply chain practices, this paper attempts to understand the key environmental drivers that impact green supply chain practices. Thus, the focus of this research paper is to recognize the direct and indirect effects of environmental drivers on the green supply chain practices. Quantitative data regarding corporate environmental drivers and green supply chain practices were collected from 12 manufacturing companies in India. Path analysis was performed through structural equation modeling technique to identify the significant environmental drivers. Further, the direct and indirect effects of the environmental drivers were determined by decomposing the structural equations. The results obtained demonstrated that regulatory pressure, customer pressure, socio-cultural pressure and competitor pressure affect green supply chain practices at varying levels of significance at different stages of the supply chain process. The result of this study invites necessary attention of the managers to undertake an analysis of the effect of potential environmental drivers on the functioning of green supply chain practices in their firms. Keywords: Environmental Concern, Business Anxiety, Corporate Environmental Drivers, Green Supply Chain Practices, Structural Equation Model, Path Analysis* Department of Management and Commerce, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur – 515001, India  https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.13.3.269-283

Abstract

Employee engagement is the positive attitude of each employee towards the business and the value of the organization. This research aims to see whether the use of AI-based technology, tools, and software can help management detect intangible things such as employee engagement level and provide clues as to what factors influence it and how management can improve it. This research is a qualitative approach. We interviewed the management and selected employees to determine employee engagement at SML before andafter implementing the AI-based application. The interview results compared with the results obtained from the application for six months (Feb - July 2020). The study was conducted on all SML employees, amounting to 39 people. This research has shown that the use of AI based software can significantly help management, not only to find out the status of each employee’s level of involvement but also to anticipate their attitudes and behaviors through predictive indicators. Thus, the company can proactively retain key employees. This research provides new and practical insights and opportunities for company owners and leaders to utilize technology to detect something that is naturally quite difficult because it requires specific knowledge and experienceKeywords: engagement, employee engagement, work engagement, technology, technology enabler, artificial intelligence, software, application.* Magister Manajemen BINUS Business School, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Jl. Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of the momentum strategy of domestic investors who trade small order sizes on IDX. The data used in this study is intraday trade transaction data from the LQ 45 Index for March, April and May 2017 obtained from The Indonesia Capital Market Institute. The method of data analysis used is the market-adjusted model approach. The results of this study indicate that domestic investors who trade in small order sizes tend to use the momentum strategy in government and non-government stock issuers. This finding implies that when IDX is in a good performance, investors should take advantage of this condition because buying stocks that have already been performing well provides a significant short-term abnormal return. https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.14.1.35-47

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review on Financial Intermediaries (FI) with a view to review extant discourses, identify gaps and provide directions for future research in this area. The Systematic Assessment Quantitative Technique (SQAT) developed by Australian researchers Catherine Pickering and Jason Anthony Bryn in (2013), was used to identify and review 43 peer- reviewed Financial Intermediaries (FI) articles from ten high quality academic databases. The primary focus of FI articles in this review were on nine themes and two theories were predominant. The various themes developed from literatures were discussed. The findings of this study would look to guide policy planners and managers on the integral role of financial intermediaries in their daily activities stressing how its overarching function cuts across all facets our financial lives. Keywords:  Financial intermediaries, SQAT, Panel data, Risk management https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.14.1.69-84
