Abstract

The financial institution roles as the bank credit distribution. According to the banking surveys in Indonesia, it indicates that new credit growth has been strengthened. The increasing of credit leds to increase the level of risk taking by banks that its concentration of banking in a country plays in influencing banking risk taking. This study examined the effect of banking market concentration on bank risk taking. It also explored the moderating variable of bank size on the effect of market concentration on risk taking in the banking sector. The results of the study showed that the banking market concentration has the positive effect on banking risk taking. The size of the bank weakens the positive effect of market concentration on bank risk taking. The larger the size of the bank in a concentrated banking market, the lower the risk taking of the bank. The concentrated banking market requires to distribute the market share in banks to be carried out by banking regulators so that the banking market is not concentrated and reduces banking risk taking. Keywords: Market concentration, Risk-Taking, Bank Size* Department of Management, Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Ahmad Dahlan Lamongan, Jalan KH. Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effect of good corporate governance on stock prices. It was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange which were included in the KOMPAS100 Index in 2014-2018 by using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used was a panel data regression method with a fixed-effect model - least square dummy variable. The results of the study show that the number of board of the commissioner meetings, return on assets, earnings per share and price to book value had significant effects on stock prices in a positive direction; the number of directors, education/training for corporate secretaries, and price to earnings ratio had positive but insignificant effects; the number of independent commissioners and the number of board of the director meetings had negative but insignificant effects on share prices. The novelty in this study was the addition of the variable of company secretary as an indicator of corporate governance, which was not found in previous studies. Besides, this study added a dummy interaction to see the effect of the level of corporate compliance on corporate governance. Keywords : good corporate governance, stock price, panel data* School of Business, IPB University, Jl. Abstract

This paper examines how consumers’ WOM-related activity can be steered by marketing measures. By conducting an experimental study using mobile coupons as a novel tool of word of mouth, we specifically investigate how monetary incentives foster senders’ decision in targeting particular receivers. Our results show that senders tend to share incentivized WOM with receivers deemed to be close to them when the amount of the incentive is unequal between sender and receiver, and information on the incentive is revealed to both sides. The different amount of incentive for senders and their receivers also leads senders to target receivers who are deal prone. Keywords: word of mouth, consumer incentives, tie strength, mobile couponing* Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, BSD City Kavling Edutown I.1, Jl. Abstract

According to the concerted efforts to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE), the Information and Communication Industry (ICT) has received little attention as a significant contributor to GHG. ICT has a very significant role to play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Canada. While climate challenges increase, there is a growing need to reduce Greenhouse gas emissions. The ICT sector has an important role in enabling significant reductions in those emissions and costs. This current study aims to examine the effects of GHGE on climate change in Canada with a focus on the ICT sector. This paper will provide a review of ICT definitions and Greenhouse gases and how GHGE can be reduced. This paper presents an approach to investigating the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on Greenhouse gases emission and their effect on climate change in Canada. Keywords: ICT, Greenhouse gas emissions, Climate change, Canada* Research Department, APH Rosha Consulting Group Ltd., 18 dey street, No 65, Sary, Mazandaran, Iran  https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.13.3.307-315

Abstract

The corruption in Indonesia is one of the biggest problems the government and the business must face. Employee in the entity may provide one of the solutions for this problem. They may do the whistleblowing when they know that there is violation in the entity. Professional commitment and anticipatory socialization are the factors to foster whistleblowing. This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the impact of professional commitment and anticipatory socialization toward whistleblowing intention. 155 eligible accounting students are taken as subjects for this study. The questionnaire is disseminated electronically to the sample. As a result, professional commitment affects whistleblowing intentions of accounting students. Furthermore, male who profess professional commitment will likely do the action of whistleblowing compare to female. On the other hand, there is no statistical evidence found to prove that anticipatory socialization affects the intention to do whistleblowing. Consequently, the system of the company must facilitate the improvement of professional commitment so it may foster the intention of the employees to whistleblow. Therefore, manager should pay attention to degree of the professional commitment of the employees. Keywords: Anticipatory socialization, Professional commitment, Whistleblowing* PT Triputra Energi Megatara, Menara Kadin Indonesia Lt. 20, Jl. Abstract

This paper investigates the X-efficiency of fifteen commercial banks in Indonesia consisting of seven syariah banks and eight conventional banks. This study uses three stages of data analysis: non-parametric data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach, t-test, and multiple regression method. The results show that in the period of this study, both syariah and conventional banks in Indonesia have not reached the optimal level of efficiency. However, conventional banks obtain a higher level of allocative and total efficiency compared to syariah banks. The inefficiency of Islamic banks is stemed from allocative inefficiency rather than technical problems. The bank’s X-efficiency is significantly influenced by size, rather than number of banking channels and staff costs. This study provides important implications for syariah banking in order to improve X- efficiency and compete in the banking industry in Indonesia by focusing on the improvement of the combination of quality assets.Keywords: X-efficiency, DEA, Shariah and conventional banks* Universitas Negeri Padang, Jl.
