Abstract

Pregnancy leads to increased energy metabolism, hence the need for energy and other nutrients increases during pregnancy. Increased energy and nutrients are needed for growth and development of the fetus, the increase in the amount of the uterus, changes in the composition and metabolism of the mother's body. If  levels of iron in the body of pregnant women is less, then there will be a condition called anemia. That's because iron is an essential microelement for the body. This substance is especially needed in hemopoiesis (blood formation), ie in the synthesis of hemoglobin. The purpose of this study was  to determine Knowledge of Pregnant Women About Iron Deficiency Anemia and Family Role With Compliance In Consuming Iron Tablet in health center . This study was a quantitative research, analytical, with cross sectional study subjects all mothers who have antenatal and get a tablet Fe in Tanjungpinang health center  based on data consist of 40 respondents. The result of this study was significat relationship between knowledge of pregnant women to iron deficiency anemia with Compliance Consuming Tablet iron  show the value of p 0814, the p-value is greater than the p value 0:05 was shows that no have correlation between knowledge of pregnant women about iron deficiency anemia with Compliance Consuming Iron Tablets. Family Role in monitoring drinking iron tablet  with Compliance Consuming Iron Tablets shows the value of p 0.00 is smaller than the value of α 0.05. This shows that there is a relationship between family role in monitoring drinking iron tablet with compliance consuming iron tablet. This study  indicated to increase Knowledge Level Of a Person On Iron Deficiency Anemia  Not Consume The Influence Behavior Of Iron Tablet  But Can Improve The Role Of Family In Compliance With Pregnant Women Eat Iron Tablet.

Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia is a major health problem in pregnant women and has a detrimental effect on mothers and newborns. Given the consequences of anemia during pregnancy, an easy and accurate diagnosis is important. During this measurement of hemoglobin levels by involves taking the blood invasively, causing discomfort and trauma for the patient. Therefore, a hemoglobin level gauge is required using a non-invasive oxymeter system, in which the patient will be free of pain with minimal risk of infection and allow for the monitoring of the patient in critical condition. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of hemoglobin concentration using an oxyhemoglobinometer with automated hematology analyzer as gold standard to know the difference of result of accuracy. This study is a diagnostic test with cross sectional design. 78 normal pregnant women who checked their pregnancy at the center of health in Bantul district, each of them are examined their hemoglobin level by using the oxyhemoglobinometer and automated hematology analyzer as a comparison. For the different results were used pairwise t test, and with diagnostic test formula obtained accuracy values. There is a difference between the oxyhemoglobinometer tool with the average of 12.2 ± 1.7 and in the automated hematology analyzer obtained an average of 11.6 ± 1.2. With a value of p 0.001 which means there is a significant difference between the two tools. The results of the diagnostic test analysis obtained an accuracy of 69.2%. The oxyhemoglobinometer device cannot be used as an accurate measurement of hemoglobin levels, because the tool its low of accuracy

Abstract

Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) are infections that patients get while undergoing treatment and medical procedures in the hospital or other healthcare facilities after more than 48 hours. Improving the quality of hand hygiene practices can reduce pathogen transmission that causes HAIs. Infection and Prevention Control Nurses (IPCNs) as the pioneers of infection prevention and control should play an active role in cultivating hand hygiene in the hospital environment. Unfortunately, until the present time, there is evidence that IPCNs have not played their roles optimally in making hand hygiene a culture in the hospital. This study aimed to explore the experiences of IPCNs in cultivating hand hygiene at the inpatient wards in a regional hospital in Semarang, Indonesia. This study used a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The samples were recruited using purposive sampling technique, consisting of three IPCNs as the main participants, and one Infection Prevention and Control Officer (IPCO) and three Infection Prevention and Control Link Nurses (IPCLNs) as the triangulation participants. Data were collected using semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed using the content analysis. The results revealed two themes. First, the appropriate education implementation and its documentation are important to provide an adequate understanding of medical and non-medical staffs, patients and families so that they are willing to perform hand hygiene properly. Second, the implementation of hand hygiene requires complete infrastructures and facilities, proper monitoring and evaluation system, as well as appropriate role models and motivation so that hand hygiene can become a positive culture. This study concludes that IPCNs have positive and negative experiences while trying to cultivate hand hygiene. IPCNs understand and agree that their ability to provide proper education and sensitivity to the factors affecting the implementation of hand hygiene can improve the people’s understanding and compliance with hand hygiene. In the end, hand hygiene will eventually become one of the positive cultures in the hospitals. Keywords: IPCNs, hand hygiene

Abstract

Triage is a process of patients classification based on the type and the level of emergency condition in health services especially in Emergency Room (ER). In the ER, Health Care Workers (HCWs) never know when do patients come, how many and how do their condition. For anticipating that conditions, the ER HCWs need good arrangement especially in the rapid identification of patients,  therefore patients can be classified based on the type and level of emergency. ER requires HCWs who have triage standard operational procedures (SOP) compliance to make sure the effective services. The factors associated with HCWs compliance are internal factors and external factors. The internal factors are  level of education, knowledge, motivation, age and working period. The external factors are  supervision, reward and punishment system. Key Word: Triage, level of education, knowledge, compliance of health care workers

Abstract

Fifty percent of end-of-life patients spend the last time of their life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). End of life conditions have an impact on the psychological, physical, social, and family environment that affect the quality of life of other families. Family welfare will have an impact on care outcomes, hospitalization time, and patient stressor levels. The purpose of this study was to explore the life quality of end of life patient's family in ICU. This research used qualitative method with descriptive phenomenology approach. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique with 9 participants. data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Colaizzi method.  The data validity was designed to meet the principle of triangulation of researchers and theory. The results showed 7 dimensions of life quality of end of life patient's family of physical health (fatigue, sleep disorder, headache, decreased appetite), mental health (anxiety, sadness, hope of improved family health condition), spiritual health (acceptance), health social (social support), daily life (daily life adjustment), financial health (financial burden), and environment (opportunity to get information, family infrastructure).  This study concludes that end of life condition of critical patients impacts on the 7 dimensions of family life quality. Nurses should pay attention to the family life quality because it affected the condition of the patient  and family as the care service unit. Keywords: Life Quality, Family, End Of Life, Intensive Care Unit

Abstract

The World Health Organization (2010) juga menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi interprofesi. Abstract

Abstract Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition which requires various kinds of lifetime treatment which cause grief. Grief has stages which can be passed though normally with the attainment of acceptance stage. Acceptance attainment renders a description maintaining that grief in its process is undergone normally through uncomplicated grief reaction and emotional responsiveness. A diabetics who manages to attain the acceptance stage will have a better glycemic control, while a diabetics with a low acceptance stage may experience an ineffective coping, improper self-treatment, and distress increase, all of which end up in a bad glycemic control which causes physical complications. This suggests that a description of s’ acceptance stage is important to identify. Accordingly, the aim of this research is to identify and analyze the description of diabetics’ acceptance of DM diagnoses. The method utilized is descriptive-observational, the data collected using the ‘Acceptance of Disease and Impairments Questionnaire’ (ADIQ). The analysis employed in this research is a descriptive analysis. The sampling technique used is consecutive sampling. The research result shows that, based on the diagram of ADIQ administered on 20 s, there are 30% found to be in the stage of acceptance, while there exist 70% to be in the stage of not yet attaining acceptance, which comprises denial (20%), resistance (10%), and sorrow (40%). Failure in attaining the acceptance stage is caused by the s’ still being in the states of denial, resistance, and sorrow. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the s dominantly stay at the stage of not yet attaining acceptance. The diabetics who have attained acceptance may still be exposed to the risk of undergoing a maladaptive response which may trigger depression, anxiety, worsened physical health, self-treatment discontinuation, powerlessness, low self-esteem, social isolation, even suicidal drive. This is all caused by grief which constitutes a fluctuate condition where every diabetes can contribute to describing his or her condition at every stage. Keywords: stages of grief, acceptance, denial, resistance, sorrow
