Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of price, design, and brand image on gold purchase decisions at Utama Jewelry Store. This research is a quantitative study that utilizes questionnaires as a measurement tool. The questionnaires were distributed to 108 respondents using incidental sampling techniques. The collected data were processed using SPSS, employing the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to obtain factor scores, followed by multiple regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis in this research show that both price and brand image significantly influence purchase decisions, while the design factor does not have a significant impact. Brand image has a higher influence on purchase decisions compared to price. The coefficient values for each variable are 0.241 for price and 0.671 for brand image, while for design is 0.024. The findings of this study corroborate extant knowledge on the important of price, design, and brand image on purchase intention and are expected to assist the management in taking a series of actions to improve sales.

Abstract

Covid -19 is a disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This disease attacks all ages, from babies and children to the elderly. The clinical characteristics of disease progression and outcome in children and young adults appear to be much milder than in older people. Compared to adults, the number of confirmed children cases is very low and the severity and mortality is even lower. The research design used is a descriptive research design with a sample using secondary data with a total of Covid -19 cases in March 2020 to June 2021 in 3231 cases of children. The results found that the 11-15 age group had the most Covid -19 cases at 30.1%, with the number of cases between women and men almost balanced. The majority of children suffering from Covid -19 do self-isolating treatment with a rate of 81.1% and only 0.7% of children have comorbid diseases. Most of the children domiciled in urban areas are 71.6%, and most of the children as many as 72.8% get transmitted from cluster families. Covid -19 cases in children experienced a spike in October 2020 with the number of cases of 706 children infected with Covid -19. Koto Tangah and Kuranji Villages are recorded as the highest cases of Covid -19 in children with more than 500 cases in each village.

Abstract

The transition from a physical resource-based economy to a knowledge-based economy has encouraged researchers to look for new ways to measure intangible assets such as intellectual capital. This study tests and analyzes the effect of intellectual capital on company performance and the role of educational background in the influence of intellectual capital on the performance of banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange for the period 2018-2022. This study uses secondary data obtained from the official website of the sample company. The number of samples in this study was 47 banks listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). The value-added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) method was used to measure the added value of intellectual capital. This study uses quantitative methods with panel data regression to analyze the effect of intellectual capital on company performance and the effect of managing directors’ educational background on the relationship between intellectual capital and company performance. These findings show how IC elements of intellectual capital affect financial performance. We discover that IC improves the ROA and ROE of Banking Companies Listed in Indonesia, data analysis results indicate that the educational background of the managing director has a varying impact on the relationship between intellectual capital (IC) and company performance, as measured by return on assets (ROA) but not to return on equity (ROE). To the best of the author’s knowledge. This is the first empirical study to evaluate the Role of a CEO's educational background in affecting Intellectual Capital in the performance of banking companies listed in Indonesia.

Abstract

The flow of overseas migration that has occurred in Indonesia has existed for a long time, since the Dutch colonial era. After Indonesia's independence, the same thing still happened, but the destination country was different. During the New Order era, Malaysia and the Middle East became favorite destination countries for Indonesian migrant workers. Currently the destination country for Indonesian migrant workers is East Asia, namely Hong Kong, where Hong Kong is far more advanced than Indonesia. 2019 is a political year for Indonesia, the Indonesian people choose a candidate for President and candidate for Vice President for the next five years. The political atmosphere in Indonesia is also felt by Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong. Even though the distance between Indonesia and Hong Kong is quite far, the political processes that go through are not much different. In Hong Kong, polling stations were also set up in strategic places to make it easy for Indonesian migrant workers to exercise their political rights. The political participation of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong in 2019 has increased compared to 2014. Even though, when viewed from the voters list, it is still very small. The increase in political participation is also in line with research in the field. Of the 100 respondents studied, there were 82 respondents exercising their right to vote. In the future, if overseas election committees are more massive and use various methods for outreach, it is possible that the political participation of Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong will increase.

Abstract

This research aims to see how far the adoption of digital payment systems and electronic financial transactions in Indonesia is based on the factors used in the theory acceptance model (TAM) method, such as perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Several factors, such as social influences, financial literacy, security and privacy, and government support, are added to the effects of the intention to adopt digital payments, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Data processes with SmartPLS 3 and uses SEM-PLS method to see that all the factors are supported to adopt digital payment systems in Indonesia. Results show that perceived usefulness and ease of use are the factors that drive the intention to adopt digital payment systems. Besides that, government support drives the intention to adopt digital payment systems by regulations to develop digital payment ecosystems. Others such as social influences, financial literacy, and security-privacy aren’t influenced on intention to adopt digital payment systems in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of consolidation on the performance of Krakatau Medika Hospital below a group called Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC). The concept of consolidation in the healthcare sector is the focus of the study due to the lack of research that examines this phenomenon in depth. The data used includes several hospital performance indicators, such as operational efficiency, service quality, finance, and other important aspects. By using Balance Scorecard and paired Friedman test, the study reveals that even though the score of performance from the Balance Scorecard gradually improved after the consolidation, the significance of the analyzed data is below 0.05, indicated that there are no remarkable impact of consolidation towards the hospital’s performance. It is advised to take more time to do in-depth research to see how the consolidation actually impacted the hospital.

Abstract

To cope with the unpredictability of the stock market, investors should have a solid understanding of the ups and downs of bullish and bearish phases. This is especially true when looking at Indonesia's LQ45 index, which consists of 45 of the most liquid stocks in Indonesia. This study carefully predicts the future direction of movement of the LQ45 stock price index by first figuring out its bearish and bullish periods, and then finding important macroeconomic factors. In this study, techniques such as X13 ARIMA SEATS, Bry-Boschan, and Binomial Logistic Regression are used to find clear bullish and bearish phases in the LQ45 index time frame. These techniques also point out certain macroeconomic indicators, such as Motor Sales, Retail Sales, Oil Price, BI Rate, 1-month Deposito Rate Working Capital Rate, Rupiah Exchange Rate, Inflation Narrow Money, Broad Money, US PMI Manufacture, and US Inflation, which have a great effect on these market conditions, as indicated by their p-values. Based on these insights, predictive models were created to show how the LQ45 index may change in the future. These models provide asset management companies with a solid basis for making smart investment decisions, with a tendency to be more aggressive when the market is up and more cautious when the market is down. This study is special because it combines the analysis of LQ45 index market trends with important macroeconomic factors in a way that has never been done before in the Indonesian market.

Abstract

The most common cause of 46 XX DSD is due to congenital adrenal hyperplasia with varying degrees of virilization. Females with CAH do not produce an anti-mullerian hormone (AMH), therefore the internal genitalia, which are Mullerian derivatives, develop normally. We report a unique case of CAH with aplasia of the uterus and upper vagina. The clinical, laboratory, and imaging findings of the patient are presented with a review of the literature. We report an ongoing case of a 20-year-old patient with ambiguous genitalia and primary amenorrhea. On physical examination, we found that she had an underdeveloped breast and clitoral virilization with separate urethral and vaginal openings. We performed a G-banded chromosome analysis, with 46 XX results. Laboratory test showed her 17-hydroxyprogesterone level was immensely elevated, while her FSH, LH, and estradiol level was below normal. Ultrasound imaging revealed the absence of uterus and cervix. Nevertheless, we found a diminutive uterine remnant during diagnostic laparoscopy with normal ovaries and fallopian tubes. On vaginoscopy examination, we found her vagina to be 5 cm long with blind end. In the presence of primary amenorrhea in patients with CAH, it is important to investigate for possible associated mullerian anomalies.

Abstract

Childhood blindness is defined as a group of eye diseases occurring in childhood or early adolescence. Good parental knowledge of childhood blindness is important for early detection and management of the lifelong burden. The aim: This study aims to provide an explanation and prevent children with blindness and visual impairment Methods: By comparing itself to the standards set by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) 2020, this study was able to show that it met all of the requirements. So, the experts were able to make sure that the study was as up-to-date as it was possible to be. For this search approach, publications that came out between 2013 until 2023 were taken into account. Several different online reference sources, like Pubmed and SagePub, were used to do this. It was decided not to take into account review pieces, works that had already been published, or works that were only half done. Result: In the PubMed database, the results of our search brought up 1751 articles, whereas the results of our search on SagePub brought up 120 articles. The results of the search conducted for the last year of 2013 yielded a total 11 articles for PubMed and 8 articles for SagePub. In the end, we compiled a total of 5 papers, 4 of which came from PubMed and 1 of which came from SagePub. We included five research that met the criteria. Conclusion: The causes of childhood blindness from the available blind school studies revealed that causes of childhood blindness have mainly shifted from corneal causes to whole globe abnormalities.
