Abstract

production capacity constraints. A key issue is the limited capacity of the grinding machine, which frequently overheats, leading to production delays and exceeding standard working hours. To address this problem, an investment in an additional grinding machine is proposed. A feasibility study was conducted by analyzing market, technical, and financial aspects using Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PBP). The results showed an NPV of IDR 4,824,298,738, an IRR of 34.72%, and a PBP of 3.85 years, indicating the investment’s feasibility. Additionally, an incremental cost analysis was performed to compare the existing condition with the proposed alternative, yielding a ∆ROR of 98%, which exceeds the Minimum Attractive Rate of Return (MARR) of 11.01%. These findings confirm that adding a grinding machine is the most viable alternative to enhance production capacity, accommodate growing demand, and improve operational efficiency. By implementing this investment, the company can optimize its production process, reduce overtime costs, and ensure a stable supply to meet market needs. The feasibility study provides valuable insights for decision-making in similar industries facing production limitations due to equipment constraints. Keywords: Feasibility Analysis, Incremental Cost Analysis, NPV, IRR, PBP

Abstract

This study aims to develop an anthropometric database for individuals aged 19-21 in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province to support ergonomic product design tailored to local physiological needs. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving direct measurements of body dimensions in a sitting posture from 52 samples selected via purposive sampling. Key measurements included sitting height, eye level while seated, shoulder height, popliteal length, and other relevant dimensions, analyzed for normality, sufficiency, and consistency. The data followed a normal distribution with sufficient sample validity. Percentile values (P1, P5, P50, P95, P99) revealed significant variations in body dimensions, providing a robust reference for ergonomic design across sectors like creative industries, education, healthcare, and agriculture. The anthropometric database enables designing inclusive, comfortable, and safe products that accommodate various body sizes, enhancing user experience and efficiency in NTB’s key industries. The study is limited to NTB’s 19-21 age group and seated posture measurements, restricting its applicability to Indonesia’s broader population or other postures. Future research should expand geographic scope and include diverse postures to enrich national anthropometric data. Keywords: Anthropometry, Ergonomic Design, Seated Posture, Percentiles, West Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Organization X reported that 75% of its application development projects from 2020 to 2023 were overscheduled, with the ABC application project being the most delayed. Field observations attributed these failures to inadequate planning and the absence of structured feasibility evaluations. This study addresses the gap by designing a dynamic feasibility model for the ABC project using a System Dynamics (SD) approach grounded in the TELOS criteria—Technical, Economic, Legal, Operational, and Scheduling. Unlike traditional static methods, the SD model captures feedback loops and interdependencies between project variables, enabling dynamic scenario simulations. Applied research methods were used to develop causal loop and stock flow diagrams, which were verified and validated via the Vensim tool. Baseline simulations yielded an average feasibility score of 7.26, exceeding the viability threshold. Among four tested scenarios, a combined intervention—adding 30%-time reserve, increasing team size, and enhancing quality control—produced the highest score of 7.35. Singular adjustments to time, cost, or quality were less effective than the integrated approach. This study demonstrates the novelty and effectiveness of applying SD to TELOS-based feasibility analysis, offering a predictive and adaptive tool for strategic project planning. The model enables proactive identification of critical phases and supports more informed decision-making, improving alignment with organizational objectives and overall project success. Keywords: Project Feasibility, TELOS, Dynamic Systems, Decision Making, Project Management

Abstract

This study analyzes the root causes of underperformance in PT Bank XYZ’s credit card partnership program with F&B merchants. Using the Kepner-Tregoe (KT) Problem Solving Framework and the SMART (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique), the research adopts an exploratory-descriptive qualitative approach involving Forum Group Discussions (FGDs) with internal stakeholders. The analysis identified two main problems: weak internal coordination between the EDC and Marketing teams, and low merchant and cashier engagement in executing promotional programs. Three alternative solutions were evaluated: (1) Integrated Merchant Engagement Program, (2) Internal KPI Synchronization Framework, and (3) Real-Time Performance Dashboard. The SMART evaluation determined the first alternative as the most effective, with the highest score (4.3), based on impact, feasibility, and ROI. The solution includes digital training, promotional kits, and incentive systems to enhance cashier performance. Supporting frameworks and monitoring systems were also proposed to ensure sustainable impact. The findings emphasize the importance of data-driven decision making, internal alignment, and proactive merchant involvement to enhance the success of banking partnership programs. This study contributes to strategic decision-making literature in the financial services sector by demonstrating the effective integration of KT and SMART to resolve operational inefficiencies.  Keywords: Kepner-Tregoe, SMART Technique, Credit Card Partnership, Decision Analysis, Banking Strategy

Abstract

This study focuses on a rattan-based manufacturing unit producing Base Plant Stand products, where a significant number of defects—2,305 units out of 9,000—were identified, resulting in a current sigma level of 3.14. By employing qualitative and quantitative research approaches, the study aims to identify root causes of product defects and propose process improvements to minimize their occurrence. Using the DMAIC framework of Six Sigma, the most frequent defect types were mold (27.9%), imprecision (22.7%), loose tie (20.9%), and pinhole (15.88%). Key contributing factors included excessive humidity, limited production space, insect infestation, and insufficient operator skills. Based on field research and literature, the proposed improvements include covering products with tarpaulins during rainy conditions, expanding work-in-progress (WIP) space, providing operator training, and developing clear standard operating procedures (SOPs). These recommendations aim to enhance product quality and increase the sigma level through systematic, continuous improvement. The findings are a practical reference for similar small-scale manufacturing operations seeking to optimize their production processes through quality management tools. Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5W+1H, Product Defects, Rattan

Abstract

The quail farming industry in Indonesia has recently experienced significant growth, which has led to an increase in demand for quail eggs. This shows substantial challenges in quail egg farming, namely low operational efficiency and high levels of waste in the production process. This study aims to improve operational efficiency by reducing waste in a quail egg farming production at CV. Vigaza uses lean manufacturing and the theory of constraints. Lean tools such as value stream mapping, waste assessment model, and value stream analysis tools are applied to identify the dominant wastes. The theory of constraints is used to determine the root cause using the current reality tree. The process activity value-added ratio has improved from 60.73% to 68.91%, lead time has decreased from 12.1 to 10.99 days, and the defect rate has reduced from 0.68% to below 0.5%. Overproduction is recommended to align production with the market demand rather than the production cycle. Integrating the lean method and the constraint theory effectively reduced waste in a small-scale agricultural production, a quail egg farm. These findings suggest a potential for adopting lean techniques in the agricultural sector in Indonesia. Keywords: Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, Waste Assessment Model, Value Stream Analysis Tools, Theory of Constraints

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of mental workload and work stress on employee performance in a retail setting, specifically at PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, Tbk. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing questionnaires distributed to employees. The collected data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that mental workload significantly influences employee performance (p = 0.020), whereas work stress does not have a significant effect (p = 0.962). However, when examined simultaneously, both variables have a significant combined impact on performance (F = 10.216, p < 0.000). These results highlight the importance of managing mental workload to enhance employee productivity while ensuring that work stress is controlled to prevent adverse effects on performance. To optimize workforce efficiency, organizations should implement strategies for workload distribution and structured stress management programs. This study provides valuable insights for companies in the retail sector, emphasizing the need for balanced work demands and employee well-being to maintain high performance levels. Keywords: Mental Workload, Work Stress, Employee Performance, Retail Industry, Work Environment

Abstract

Layout is an element that must be considered in industrial design. A layout that considers the distance and proximity of departments will have better productivity. Facts on the ground show that there are still many industries that have not paid attention to this, one of which is the Meatball Manufacturing Factory, Brenggolo Street, Kediri. The purpose of this study is to minimize material handling costs while increasing productivity through improved design of meatball production facilities, analyze the sensitivity of layout changes, and compare the efficiency of the Blocplan algorithm and the Aldep algorithm in solving problems in meatball production by considering uncertainty. The method used in this study uses the Blocplan and Aldep algorithms, added with sensitivity analysis through several scenarios. The results showed that Blocplan and Aldep were able to provide recommendations for improving the layout of the meatball manufacturing factory's production facilities with good flow and efficient operational costs. Blocplan produces a cost of Rp. 1,366,761.6 or save 13.6% of the actual layout. While Aldep generates a cost of Rp. 797,040 or save 49.6% of the actual layout. In the sensitivity and Monte Carlo analysis, it was found that Aldep has the potential for future projection and has a near-perfect positive probability compared to Blocplan. This shows that the Aldep approach is a good and recommended layout proposal for the company. Keywords: Aldep; Blocplan; Layout; Material Handling Cost, Sensitivity
