Abstract

Jakarta’s widespread internal migration also complicate efforts to provide its citizens with the care they needed. Pandemic exacerbates the social vulnerabilities of the urban people and increasingly shows the inequality that exists in the city. The question that this paper tried to answer is “To what extent the urban poor could access their entitlements to sustainable livelihood?”. To help enhance our understanding on how urban poor access their rights and entitlements to sustainable livelihoods, sustainable livelihood framework needs to be combined with other approaches. Poor people stood at the centre and were seen to build their livelihood strategies on a set of vital resources. People found ways to make ends meet and got on with their lives. In the case of urban poor in Jakarta, it is important to note, that while the sustainable livelihood model stresses that poor people are the experts on their own conditions, it is condescending to assume that all of the people’s livelihood strategies are inherently right. Many urban poor households lack access to information, broader overviews, and a knowledge of prior experiences outside their own area which mean that they may make mistakes and adopt livelihood strategies which are unsatisfactory at best or doomed to failure at worse. Keywords: migration, sustainable livelihood, urban poor in Jakarta, pandemic

Abstract

Consumptive behavior that occurs in society occurs because of increasingly rapid technological advances and the many kinds of marketplaces. The trend of usage and penetration rate of e-commerce in Indonesia in 2017-2023 grew very significantly in recent years, especially during the last pandemic. With activity restrictions, people shop online once a month. Based on the results of research by Harbolnas.com, it shows that the National Online Shopping Day Transaction (Harbolnas), a three-day internet shopping event, recorded transactions of Rp. 4.7 trillion, up 42 percent (Rp. 1.4 trillion) from last year's event. From this background, this study aims to find out how consumptive behavior is in shopping online on beautiful dates through the Shopee site. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, while the data collection technique in this study uses Snowball and is obtained through interviews. The results of this study found that the occurrence of consumptive behavior in society was motivated by factors, namely external factors, including culture, family. And internal factors include motivation and economic conditions. Online shopping activities are carried out to meet needs and buy products based on discount shopping vouchers in the form of free shipping vouchers and cashback on beautiful dates given by Shopee. Thus, people become consumptive because they buy goods not based on needs but desires. Keywords: Consumptive Behaviour; Online Shopping; E-Commerce

Abstract

This study focuses on the use of Instagram posts as a personal branding medium to build image reputation in social reality. The problem raised in this study is how the results of using Instagram posts as a personal branding medium to form image reputation in social reality. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method of phenomenology and sampling through snowball sampling and data collection techniques through interviews, documentation, and observation. The theory used in reviewing the problems raised in this research is the dramaturgical theory proposed by Erving Goffman and uses the theory proposed by Mcnally and Speak to see the basis for the formation of a strong personal branding, namely there are three basic things that must be met, including distinctiveness, relevance and consistency. The result of this research is that all informants play their roles on stage according to the role of the lifestyle they want to instill in the minds of followers. Meanwhile, backstage, it was found that all the informants had a more casual lifestyle. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that there is an element of irrelevance from their personal branding, but the four informants still get a good image reputation in their social reality. Keywords: Instagram, personal branding, image reputation, social reality, dramaturgy
