Abstract

Islamic boarding schools not only function as religious educational institutions, but also have a strategic role in producing economically independent students. This study aims to analyze the role of the Al Azhar Azzayyadiyah Islamic Boarding School Cooperative in developing students' entrepreneurial skills. This study uses a qualitative approach, with a case study approach, data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the Islamic boarding school cooperative functions as an experiential learning vehicle that equips students with technical skills (sewing, batik, knitting, and marketing), while also developing soft skills such as discipline, communication, leadership, and responsibility. These findings also show an increase in students' self-efficacy in managing businesses, in contrast to previous studies that highlighted students' weak self-confidence. This study proves that Islamic boarding school cooperatives are not only economic units, but also strategic educational tools in empowering students. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating cooperative programs into non-formal education to produce independent students who are ready to compete in the business world. This research contributes to the development of religious community-based entrepreneurship education theory. In practice, this research strengthens the position of Islamic boarding schools as agents of local economic development through systematic and sustainable empowerment of students.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has created new spaces for interaction while simultaneously increasing the risk of online gender-based violence against women. In response, the Islamic concepts of aurat and hifz an-nafs within Maqashid Syariah offer a normative-religious approach to digital protection. This study aims to explore how these two principles can serve as a foundational framework for developing a secure and just digital environment for women. Employing a qualitative, descriptive-analytical method based on literature review, data were sourced from tafsir, fiqh, policy documents, and contemporary research. Findings reveal that aurat signifies not only physical modesty but also the safeguarding of dignity, privacy, and identity in digital interactions. Meanwhile, hifz an-nafs promotes protection against digital violence in both physical and psychological forms. The integration of these concepts supports the formation of ethical, gender-sensitive policies and underscores the relevance of Islamic values in shaping a safe digital culture. In conclusion, aurat and hifz an-nafs can provide a comprehensive ethical framework for digital protection. Further studies are encouraged to examine their application in cyber law and digital education.

Abstract

Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is a term referring to the anxiety or worry individuals feel about missing out on information, experiences, or events happening elsewhere. Factors contributing to FOMO include the ease of access to information, especially through social media. While social media, with all its features, greatly assists human work, this is only true if accompanied by effective self-regulation. Conversely, abundant information can negatively impact a person's psychological stability. This study aims to analyze the ulama's interpretation of the nafs verses (Ammārah, Lawwāmah, and Muṭma’innah) as a basis for understanding the dynamics of the human soul. These three verses were selected because commentators explicitly cite them as crucial categories in discussions of the human psyche. The research analysis was conducted in three stages: (1) exploring scholars' interpretations of the nafs verses; (2) mapping FOMO symptoms based on modern psychological literature; and (3) integrating the two to find common ground specifically, how the nafs verses can explain the FOMO phenomenon and simultaneously offer a Qur'anic solution. The findings show that the nafs concept in the Qur'an is highly relevant to the FOMO phenomenon, particularly in explaining impulsive urges, self-reflection, and inner peace as strategies for coping with digital anxiety.

Abstract

Ideal and character-based teachers are an important foundation in shaping a quality generation, but the current moral crisis and decadence demonstrate the need for transformation in education and educators. Teachers, as the spearhead of education, are required not only to possess academic competence but also to be role models for students. This study aims to describe the views of the concept of ideal and character-based teachers according to Imam Al-Ghazali and Sheikh Az-Zarnuji, and analyze their relevance to the 18 character education values in Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach and philosophical analysis. Primary data sources include the book Ihya' Ulumuddin by Imam Al-Ghazali, the book Ta'limul Muta'allim by Sheikh Az Zarnuji, and a copy of Presidential Decree Number 87 of 2017. Secondary data include books, articles, journals, and other supporting written works. The data collection technique uses the documentation method, while data analysis is carried out using content analysis through the stages of description, comparison, and interpretation. The results of the study show that the concept of an ideal and characterful teacher according to Imam Al-Ghazali emphasizes the spiritual, moral, and intellectual dimensions of the teacher as a guide towards moral perfection (insan kamil). Teachers must have in-depth knowledge ('ilm), wisdom (hikmah), and the ability to purify the souls of students (tazkiyah). Meanwhile, Sheikh Az-Zarnuji in his book Ta'limul Muta'allim emphasizes the practical and methodological aspects of the learning process, where the ideal teacher is a figure who has moral integrity, pedagogical competence, and the ability to create a conducive learning environment. Comparative analysis shows that both figures have similarities in emphasizing the importance of teacher moral character, but have different emphases in learning approaches. Imam Al-Ghazali emphasizes the spiritual-Sufi dimension more, while Sheikh Az-Zarnuji focuses more on the practical-methodological aspect. The relevance of the concept of ideal and character teachers from both figures to Presidential Decree Number 87 of 2017 shows significant conformity with 18 character values which include: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love of the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, love of peace, love of reading, care for the environment, care for society, and responsibility. This research contributes to providing a theoretical and philosophical basis for the development of the concept of an ideal and character-based teacher that is sourced from classical Islamic intellectual treasures and is relevant to the context of contemporary character education. These findings can be used as a reference in the preparation of teacher competency standards that are not only oriented to the technical pedagogical aspects, but also to the formation of character and moral integrity of teachers as character educators.

Abstract

In the daily learning process, several major problems arise. Teachers find that some students have difficulty maintaining previously memorized material, are inconsistent in adding new memorization content, and have not yet fully mastered proper reading techniques before proceeding to the next stage. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Ahsanul Qira’ah, Murojaah, and Ziyadah (AHQMUZI) method and its impact on the achievement of the students’ tahfidz program at MDTA Al-Munawwarah Pamekasan. This research employs a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the AHQMUZI method is a memorization activity that begins with students reciting verses in a tartil and correct manner using the Ahsanul Qira’ah method. This approach helps improve the quality of students’ recitation before memorization and provides positive effects and strong motivation on students’ memorization. Overall, the AHQMUZI method is effective in supporting the success of tahfidz learning in non-formal basic educational institutions.

Abstract

Science that is currently progressing throughout the world, initially came from the embryo of Muslim scholars' thoughts. In its journey, a paradigm of dichotomy of science and religion emerged which caused a separation between religion and science, as well as religious people and scientists. However, it cannot be denied that science that is currently developing rapidly, in its historical center is Muslim scholars who took part in studying Science based on the first source of Islamic law, namely the Qur'an, one of whom was the 'ulama who lived during the Mamluk Dynasty Imam as-Suyuthi. There are many verses of the Qur'an that indicate knowledge, but other evidence is needed to strengthen it. Departing from this paradigm, the author then analyzes the process of how Imam as-Suyuthi carried out the process of classifying the sciences that originate from the Qur'an which we call istinbath. First, the author determines the verses of the Qur'an, or the opinions of other scholars that indicate or discuss a science. Then, he includes evidence in the form of verses, narrations that are interrelated in the process of istinbath as-Suyuthi until finally a science can be determined, and the branches of science from it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of transparency principles in the financial management of Jelegong Village, Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency, and review it from the perspective of Siyasah Dusturiyah. Transparency in village financial management is based on the provisions of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure, and Permendagri Number 20 of 2018 concerning Village Financial Management as a normative basis for realizing accountability and public information disclosure at the village level. This study uses an empirical juridical approach with a descriptive qualitative method. The results show that 1) the Jelegong Village government has implemented the principle of transparency through the dissemination of financial information in village deliberation forums and public information boards, but its implementation has not been fully optimal due to limitations in information updates, minimal use of digital media, and low levels of community participation; 2) the implementation of transparency in village financial management from the perspective of Siyasah Dusturiyah has, in principle, reflected the values of trust and maslahah, but has not fully realized justice and information disclosure equally for the entire village community.
