Abstract

The United Nations (UN) was founded on October 24, 1945 or after World War II ended. At the time of its establishment, the UN consists of 51 member countries and continues to grow until now it has 193 members. The birth of the UN was motivated by the failure of The League of Nations because it could not realize the desire of its founders to create peace throughout the world by preventing war. After World War I, it turned out that World War II was still followed. The UN is considered successful in preventing a widespread war so that until now there has been no World War III. However, in the current situation, wars in several parts of the world have recurred, such as in Syria, Palestine, Azerbaijan and others. The existence of the UN as a universal organization that maintains peace is again being questioned. The ability, especially the Security Council, as one of its organs to prevent war, needs to be improved. Keywords: The Security Council, UN Charter, Veto

Abstract

Historical facts show that in their heyday, the kingdoms in the archipelago such as Majapahit and Sriwijaya were maritime kingdoms with enormous power. With the ability to project their military power on and through the media of the sea, the two great empires were able to control the entire archipelago and even abroad. Although the government has declared Indonesia as the world's maritime axis, in its implementation there are several obstacles and among them are related to the culture of border communities who still do things that are contrary to the laws and regulations in Indonesia. The object of the research in this study is focused on the culture of the Indonesian people who are on the border area of Indonesia and the Philippines in the province of North Sulawesi, which has hundreds of years and for generations, has a relationship with the Filipinos. So that by examining the variables related to the culture of border communities, it will be possible to determine the best maritime policy that can have positive implications for Indonesia's national security. This study aims to obtain a conceptual model that can present the cultural influence of border communities on the Indonesian government's maritime policy and its implications for Indonesia's national security, this model is needed as a basis for determining maritime policies that can have positive implications for strengthening Indonesia's national security. The conceptual model and framework are based on quantitative descriptive analysis method by describing the relationship between the variables and the indicators of each variable. The results of the study show that there is a significant influence between X1 (social culture of border communities) and Y1 (Maritime Policy), there is no significant effect between X2 (Economic activities of border communities) and Y1. Keywords: Social culture, economic activity, illegal activities, maritime policy, national security.

Abstract

ABSTRACTEfforts to increase the degree of public health as high as possible are carried out by creating a clean life, eliminating breeding grounds for disease causes and agents, keeping food and beverages clean and not contaminated by disease-causing and intermediate bacteria, and implementing healthy habits. Rats are nuisance animals that harm humans because they eat all types of food eaten by humans. The Rat can become agents of several pathogens that cause disease in humans because the relationship between rats and humans is often parasitic, one of which is PES. The disease can be transmitted directly by saliva urine, and feces, or through ectoparasite bites in rats (fleas, fleas, and mites). This type of research aims to see the efficiency level of single trap type mouse trap with double trap type in Kade Jamrud and Kade Perak, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. This type of research is pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design, that is, in this design, the treatment or intervention has been carried out (X), then the measurement (observation) or post-test (O) is then analyzed in statistical calculations using the t-test calculation. with a significant level of 5%, to find out which type of trap is the most effective compared to other types of traps. The results of this study indicate that out of 200 traps placed in 5 different warehouses, each warehouse has 40 traps with the same composition ratio. During the study, the number of a rat trapped was 14. The double trap mouse trap received the highest number of rats, namely 10 or 71.4%, while the single trap mousetrap only received 4 or 28.6%. From the results of the study, a statistical test was carried out where the t count the source of treatment variation was 1.630 while t table was 1.860, so it can be concluded that between single trap and double trap mouse traps showed no significant difference in the number of a rat trapped. Keywords: Single Trap, Double Trap, t-test.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the training implementation of the cadet of the operation corps which is not optimal because there are empty rooms in the Andromeda Building do not use optimally. The main objective of determining this strategy is that the empty room in the Andromeda Building can be used optimally. The formulation of the problem from this research is to determine the right strategy in optimizing the Andromeda Room to support cadets of the operation corps. This research is quantitative, this research was conducted by collecting respondents using a questionnaire with a purposive sampling technique. This study uses SWOT analysis, the first step is to create IFAS and EFAS matrices by giving weights to find the total score of the IFAS and EFAS variables. The second step is to formulate a strategy, namely SO, WO, ST, and WT. Further study shows that the advantages of the Andromeda bridge simulator building are designed like the KRI class Sigma. The disadvantage is that the navigation equipment contained in the bridge simulator is not ready in terms of quality or quantity. The results of this study are in the quadrant 3rd position where this condition is to minimize existing internal problems by maximizing existing opportunities through a review strategy to produce something new.
