Abstract

Determination of category abrasion or sedimentation to applies formulation of empiric developed by Sunamura and Horikawa, with height and wavelength, median measure item sediment and coastal gradient as determinant. Current data and tidal applied as the determinant supporter. Waving maximum found at area Bisokeng part of south with height 0,52 metre and long 25,82 metre. Low is found in area Kahukahu with height 0,17 metre and long 8,71 metre. Coastal gradient alongside location of research is met [by] two categories namely flat at area Takkalalla and Muara Sungai Bua, and sloping category at other area. Median measure item the biggest sediment is found in area Bisokeng part of South and smallest at area Marana. Based on the determinant is obtained [by] information that six locations in research area experiences coast abrasion (north Baringeng, south Baringeng, Marana, south Jahung-jahung, north Bisokeng and north stone Ujung). The eight locations is permanent in stable condition (neutral). Result of prediction of coastal stability applies prediction waving it is known that from 61.11% case of wave is enabling the happening of 54,4% coast to experience abrasion, 6,6% remain to be stable and 39% experiences sedimentation.

Abstract

Light is one of the artificial stimuli to attract and concentrate fish on the catchable area. Each fish species can recognize a particular wavelength by photo pigment in its retina. The influence factors to retinal adaptation are color light, light intensity and time of exposure. Fish retinal adaptation on light is indicated by change of cone cell movement level. The objectives of this research were to reveal pattern of ponyfish reaction toward blue and red color light. Experiment was carried out in Pelabuhan Ratu Bay and Fish Culture Laboratory at Bogor Agricultural University, November 2005 to January 2006. The results indicated that ponyfish is fototaxis fish and more perceive blue light than red color light. Light intensity has an effect on rise number of fish schooling.

Abstract

The aim of this research is not only to find the carrying capacity and economic of Sea Farming management but also to build the model of shallow water ecosystem at Semak Daun Island. For that purpose, the researcher uses the amount of Serranus sp as an indicator with two kinds of assessment methods. The first method is denseness assessment. Using this method the amount of Serranus is in between 1575 and 1890 fish for year. The second method is tranfer of energy in the trophic level. By this method, the researcher find that the amount of Serranus lays in the wider range than the first one it is from 1575 to 7875 fish for year. According to the result of simulating the model for all scenarios in 10 years, the highest income get from the third scenario, Rp 4,074,830,000.00, with the proportion of KJA (cage culture) and Sea Ranching fund is 75% and 25%, there is aninstitution with Rp 50,000.00 as a monthly fee. Meanwhile, the 25th scenario only give Rp 806,130,000.00 as the income with the proportion of KJA (cage culture) and SR fund is 25% and 75% without an institution and only Rp 10,000.00 monthly fee.

Abstract

Decreasing of mangrove area at the OKI east coast in the South Sumatera Province caused by the conversion the mangrove area for fish pond. The purpose of this research to analyzing the mangrove condition and its wide changing using Landsat TM satellite data. This observation is conducted on 13 to 16 May 2006 at the Lumpur River in the OKI Regency. The analyzing of the Landsat TM Satellite Data is conducted on 22 May to 13 June 2006, this research is using survey method, tracking up the sample of mangrove to be identified its species and mangrove land-cover analysis using multitemporal Landsat TM satellite data (1992, 2000 and 2003), supervised classification and density classification using NDVI formula. The results of this research showed that the mangrove species which dominate at the OKI east coast are Avicennia sp. (api-api), Sonneratia alba, Rhizopora sp., Bruguiera and Nipah. The distribution and mangrove land-cover are decreasing, cause of conversion in 11 years (1992 to 2003). The decreasing of mangrove area is escorting by increasing of living area and open-land, also the appearing of new class, fish-pond. Total mangrove area at OKI east coast on 1992 is 56.418,57 ha, 8 years later (2000) less became 47.781 ha, then on 2003 its just 32.021,64 ha.

Abstract

Coral reefs have functions as the place of biology, chemical and physical globally cycles that has high productivity level. The importance of coral reefs function are to supervise and to protect the ecosystems from activities that lead to damage. Coral reef ecosystem on Bangka Island is in danger because of human activities which could destroy indirectly such as sedimentation caused by tin mining. Sedimentation process can damage to coral reefs and affects on its growth form. Besides of sedimentation, natural factors can affect to corals growth and coral growth form. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to review directly the condition of diversity of coral growth form, especially on the Teluk Limau Shore as efforts to look after of coral reef ecosystems in Bangka Regency in the future. Observation of coral growth forms using Line Intercept Transect Method. Roll meters is being stretched 10 meters long and parallel to the coastline at a depth, but if in one of the depth there is no coral reef, the observation was not done. The results showed coral growth form is more prevalent in the Teluk Limau Coast on transects 1 and 2 are flat / crawl or Coral Encrusting (CE), whereas coral growth form in transect 3 the most dominant is Encrusting Acropora (ACE). Coral growth forms is influenced by hydrodinamis pressure, such as waves or currents, sediment and subareal exposure.

Abstract

Fish represent one of protein source. Patin ( Pangasius Sp) is representing one of prospect commodity because it has been cultured better. Fish snack (product extrusion) is food which it enhanced with fish to increase its nutrition. Water rate become critical point and determine characteristic of snack during production and depository. Assessment of age keep fish snack was done by acceleration method pursuant to rate of critical water with sorption curve approach. This research aim to evaluate age keep fish snack with critical water rate approach that is isothermal sorption approach curve and compare it with age keep determined by manual calculation. measure This research is divided become 2 phase; especial research and antecedent research. Antecedent research was conducted in a few phase which are making of fish snack, measuring of rout snack parameter through consumer survey, and determinating of characteristic early product using proximate analysis and cracking test. Especial research are conventional method for rate proximate analyze, TPC, TBA, cracking, and organoleptic every week during depository temperature 30 0C. Calculating of critical water rate, balance water rate, model and isothermal sorption curve, MRD value, slope, package permeability, weight and wide package for calculation of age keep Labuza at acceleration method using critical water rate approach. Based on this research; equation model chosen is model Caurie. Critical water rate both types of the product by hedonic; fish snack without flavor is 0,125 g H2O/G solid and fish snack with flavor is 0,078 g H2O/G solid. Based on critical water rate, both types of the product; fish snack without flavor is 0,124 g H2O/G solid and fish snack with flavor is 0,077 g H2O/G solid. Cracking value that obtained on hedonic test 1164,74 gf for snack TF and 874,54 gf for snack DF. Based on rating test, value of cracking is 1164,04 gf for snack TF and 861,38 gf for snack DF. Value of aw for snack TF is 0,15 and 0,16 for snack DF. Age keep fish snack through isothermal sorption curve approach is 2,9-4,3 month for snack TF and 0,4-0,9 month for snack DF by rating test and also hedonic test on RH depository condition about 85 %. At conventional depository method, fish snack have shown of quality retreating of depository for four weeks, but still be consumed. Isothermal sorption curve approach is representing more precise method in determination of age keep fish snack though has not perfect sigmoid curve, according to Labuza statement. Influenced factors of age keep in general are early water rate, critical water rate, balancing water rate, RH, and packaging. Based on this research can be proved that that isothermal sorption curve approach has advantages; easy to be done, effective, efficient, and cheaper than conventional method in determination of age keep fish snack (product extrusion)

Abstract

Indonesian’s fish processing industry developed very rapidly. During the operational production, these industries consumed clean water in enorrmous volume, as much as wastewater has been produced. One of technologies frequently used is using wasterwater aeration pond. This clean treated wastewater can be used as a liquid organic fertilizer, as it contains nutrient such as N, P and K which is good for growing plant. The research objective is to study utilization of treated fishery industry wastewater by activated sludge as a liquid organic fertilizer for growing of spinach vegetable (Amaranthus sp.). The study resulted that spinach fertilized by liquid treated wastewater grew better than the one that fertilized by other treatments. Concentration of liquid fertilizer from wastewater within treatment was not significant.
