Abstract

Besides to impact on changing of landscape and biodiversity, tin mined left heavy metal contaminants, and phytoremediation (the use of plants to accumulate heavy metals) is a chosen method. This studymeasures Pb (Lead), Cu (Copper), Zn (Zinc) in soil and dominant terestrial plants in tin mined landand Fe (Iron), Al (Aluminum), As (Arsen) in root and shoot of dominant plants in ex-tin mined pond.Dominant species was determined by vegetation analysis of quadrate method. Metals analysis wasconducted using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Pb in secondary forest (8 ppm), in revegetatedtin mined soil (10,80 ppm) and in 0 year abandoned tin mined soil) (20,70 ppm) exceed qualitystandards. There is no potential of becoming accumulator plant for Pb, Cu, Zn in tin mined land, butSchima wallichii was found potential to be Cu accumulator in secondary forest because it hastranslocation factor (TF)>1. The highest Fe > 2% in shoot and > 3% in roots. Al > 2% in shoot and >3% in root. As was not detected. Keywords: Tin mined soil, Bangka, Metal, Accumulator plants

Abstract

Coal is a kind of energy that really close to thermal properties. Low rank coal in Indonesia is hardly tobe used as a raw coal. The making of biobatubara briquette is one of a thing people managed to uselow rank coal. In this research talk about the influence of the pressure in making biobatubara briquetteto know the burning characteristic. The analysis is done by using Thermogravimetric Analyzer. Thepressure that used is 75, 100, 125 and150, in kg/cm2 units. The result of this research showed thattemperature of ITVM between 263-269 ºC , ITFC between 271-274 ºC, PT between 397- 404 ºC , BTbetween 288-290 ºC.

Abstract

As one of the island that producing tin ore mineral (cassiterite), Bangka Island has probably a bigpotential of tin associated mineral that contains radioactive elements like Thorium (Th) and Uranium(U). Th and U can be one of potential future prospect elements expecially for nuclear energy. Th andU elements bearing minerals in Bangka Island not yet exploited. They take out from the tin ore miningand becoming tailing, and then through the surface water flows or shallow sea water as sediment. Thestudy goal is to getting the number of radioactive Th and U elements using surface sediment sampleand then interpretation some part of their spatial distribution form. The Surface sediment data hasbeen collected on 2 sites Kolong in Muntok District West Bangka Regency, 3 sites in MerawangDistrict Bangka Regency, 9 sites in Pangkalpinang City, 2 sites in Central Bangka Regency and 2sites in South Bangka Regency. Chemistry analysis of sediments for identification the presence of Thand U elements. Radioactive element of Uranium (U) almost presence at all shallow surfacesediment 4.842 - 229.2 ppm except nul in 1 sample. Thorium (Th) just presence in a part of sedimentsample. One site as especially case study Kacang Pedang Retention Ponds, shows Th and Uradioactive elements has the heterogenity spatial pattern.

Abstract

The condition of water, soil and rock in Bangka Belitung University can be one of reference forconservation area and future development. Field observation known that the research location isgrouped into formation of sedimentary is Tanjung Genting Formation. Average pH of water 5,3; TDS41.1 mg/l; TSS 11,1 mg/l and Al content 0,18 mg/l; Fe 0.32 mg/l; Cu 0.14 mg/l taken from groundwaterand surface water samples. Rock samples of static test results obtained that the rocks are acidic butinto the category is uncertain. However, from the paste pH it was found that the pH of rocks is 5,39and this shows that the rocks are not potentially acidic.

Abstract

The research sites are located in the village of Berambang, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency,West Nusa Tenggara Province. This area was dominated by volcanic rocks composed of dasiticvolcanic rock, diatrema breccia, and diorite intrusion. Berambang area shows alteration in the form ofpotassic, propylitic, advanced argillic, and argillic alterations where in some places accompanied bypyritisation and stockwork structure, the type of mineralization in this area is a porphyry copper-goldtype. In the potasic alteration zone there are minerals that have a strong anomaly response to themagnetic due to the presence of oxide minerals magnetite (Fe2O3). Mineral sulfides such as pyrite(FeS2) and chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) will also provide significant anomalous responses that have anabundance of 2-5% in the potassic zone. In a propylitic alteration zone characterized by chlorite, calcite and epidote minerals that do not respond to magnetic anomalies, the presence of pyriteminerals, hematites and chalcopyrite with abundance of ≤1% will provide some magnetic anomaly inthe propylitic zone. As for advanceargillic alteration zones characterized by mineral andalusite, aluniteand quartz, there will not be any magnetic anomalies, the phenomena was due to the rarity ofmineralization in this zone gives an insignificant anomalous impact. Meanwhile, for the argillic zonecharacterized by mineral illite, kaolinite and smectite will not have anomalous magnetic impact, veryrare mineralization in the argillic zone so that the magnetic anomaly is not significant. From the floatingEuler 3D shows an anomalous source from a depth of 0 meters to a depth of more than 400 meters.

Abstract

The simplest way to interpret polarimetric imagery for land cover classification is to use visualinterpretation methods. The existence of interpretations key as a tool for visual interpretation becomesimportant when different interpreters can produce different results. The quality of the results of theinterpretation of land cover is then determined by the quality of the interpretation tool, in this case, thekey to the interpretation of land cover. The purpose of this study was to make the key to land coverclass interpretation in the Full Polarimetric ALOS PALSAR image, then the interpretation key wasused for reference in making land cover maps and measuring the accuracy of the results of the visualinterpretation. The image used in this study consisted of HH, VV, HV and VH bands. The location ofthe study was in parts of Sleman District. The analysis is done visually by on-screen digitizing onALOS Palsar composite HH + VV HV + VH HH-HV image, which is then interpreted key. The truetest is done by means of the overall accuracy test and Kappa. Visually, ALOS PALSAR imagery isable to distinguish 12 land cover classes in the research area, namely built land, rice fields, mixedgardens, moorlands, salak garden, grass, forest, shrubs, open land, airports, water bodies and lavawith 83% Overall accuracy, and 78% Kappa accuracy.

Abstract

This research about water quality testing on unconventional mining land in Merawang District,Bangka Regency to be used as a water source for fulfilling daily needs for the surroundingcommunity.Sampling is done by purposive sampling by taking into account the considerationof the condition and state of the landscape from the research area. The sample points weretaken as many as 2 samples with different conditions where sample 1 was obtained from thewater under the results of the dominant tin mine tailings in the form of sandstone and claystones and sample 2 from the water under the results of tin mine tailings in the form of kaolin. The taking distance from the two samples is close to about 5 Km. From the results of fielddata collection and laboratory analysis, the pH value in sample 1 was 5.71 and sample 2 was5.57, TSS had a value in sample 1 of 7 mg / L and sample 2 of 8 mg / L, while the TDS valuein sample 1 was 92 mg / L and sample 2 was 8 mg / L. Whereas from laboratory analysis ofdissolved metals obtained values in sample-1 and sample-2 in the form of copper (Cu) havethe same value of 0.0153 and lead (Zn) 0.0531 while sample-2 value of lead dissolved metal(Zn) is 0, 0977. From the chemical and physical parameters and analysis of dissolved metalsif based on the Minister of Health Regulation No. 416 ,1990 about Water QualityRequirements and Supervision and Government Regulation No. 82, 2001 aboutManagement of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control is still classified under the qualitybook and is determined by the value of the Pollution Index based (IPj) on the Decree of theMinister of Environment Number 115,2003 about Guidelines for Determining the Status ofWater Quality. This method is used to determine the level of pollution relative to permittedwater quality parameters. The results obtained indicate that the water quality in the twosamples is categorized as inappropriate (light polluted) as a drinking water qualityrequirement because it has a pollution index value for designation (IPj ) sample-1 was 2.15and sample-2 was 1.86.

Abstract

Study of stability and pillar failure mechanism with a variety of methods have beencarried with empirical and analytical approach. H. Moomivand dan V.S. Vutukuri in 2008 doto research with physical model of coal cubic with ratio of 0,25 to 10 with surface of pillar ishorizontal, this research aims to investigated changes in the ratio of pillar on compressivestrength and pillar mine failure mechanism, to study the relationship do the physical modellingwith 5 variations of height of 5 cm – 40 cm each pillar geometry has 7 variatons inclinedsurface 0o-30o. Samples of the pillar of testing with direction of the axial load on the body pillaruntil failure. Other than that do to 2D numerical modelling with finite element methods withassisted of software Phase2 (Rockscience). Physical modelling result showed the value ofthe compressive strength and the strength of pillar will be increased with the increasing ratioof pillars w/h. Effect of change in the inclined surface pillar to the compressive strength andpillar of strength showed no behavioral changes in the compressive strength and the strengthof the pillars to change the angle of the surface of the pillar. Changes in strength factor andsigma 1 showed decreasing of the value when the angle of the pillar is increasing eventhough the changes in the value of the numerical modeling results are not significant.
