Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of information technology-based flipped classroom learning model on creativity and learning outcomes for grade four Civics at SDN Bligo. This research was an experimental research with a pretest post test control group design. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students of SDN Bligo Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques were through creativity test and learning outcomes tests. Furthermore, the data were tested by using validity and reliability tests, while the learning tools were tested by expert validation. The requirements of the data analysis test were normality test and homogeneity test. The analytical technique used was t test. In this case, the t-test was carried out twice, first, to determine the initial conditions (pretest) of the experimental group and control group and second, to determine the condition after being given treatment (posttest). The results showed that (1) there was an effect of the information technology-based flipped classroom learning model on the creativity of students on Civics education at the fourth grade of elementary schools; (2) there was an effect of the information technology-based flipped classroom learning model on students’ learning outcomes on the Civics lesson at the fourth grade of elementary school. In short, this learning model could be used as a solution for learning from home or online learning that students were currently doing due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the supervision activities by supervisors in Subject Teacher Organization (or MGMP) could improve teachers' abilities to implement the active, creative, effective, and fun learning (or PAKEM). To obtain the data needed, this study involved 34 teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Tasifeto Barat and was carried out in three months, starting from 18 August 2019 to 13 October 2019. The results of this study indicated that the teachers’ ability to prepare PAKEM model increased after coaching was carried out by supervisors in the MGMP. The increase was proved by an increase in the average percentage of lesson plan (RPP) preparation, that was 61.19% in cycle I and 67.77% in cycle II as well as the teachers’ ability to compile learning scenarios and components in designing classroom management by determining the types of learning activities that provided opportunities to involve students with detailed and challenging steps for improvement. Therefore, it was suggested that supervisors and school principals took the advantage of the school MGMP forum as a target for teacher training to improve their quality of learning activities and teachers could actively participate in MGMP activities, as one of the forums for improving their quality.

Choosing social media in carrying out learning is necessary because social media did not recognize space and time, it made it easier to communicate with people who were far apart. Thus, it was necessary to train teachers in using WhatsApp as an alternative to learning by using action research methods or often school action research. This research involved 8 teachers at SDN 18 Bengkalis. The results of the study found that the teachers’ understanding in online learning in Cycle I was 51.13 with sufficient category. After making improvements and seeing reflections from learning, it was continued with cycle II with the results obtained an average of 73.13 with good category while the teacher's ability in learning in cycle I got sufficient category. In cycle II, out of 8 teachers, 2 teachers got very good category and 6 people got good category. In the learning carried out by the teacher using WhatsApp, there was an increase compared to cycle I.
