This research conducted with the aim to determine differences in the effectiveness of the model of Discovery Learning and Problem Solving of problem solving ability mathematics students of class IV primary school. The type of the research is quasi-experimental with the use of test prerequisites that consist of normality test and homogeneity. In this study, prerequisite test was conducted to determine normality and homogeneity. From the T test using Independent Samples Test showed t count > t table with value 7,113 > 2,007 with significance 0,000 < 0,05 that means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Based on the results obtained there are differences in the effectiveness of significant. The results of the test N-Gain there is an increase after the treatment is given in the experimental class using the model of Discovery Learning by 0.40 and the control class there is an increase after a given model Problem Solving of 0.16. Based on these results, it showed that the model of Discovery Learning is more effective when compared with the Problem Solving model to increase problem solving ability in mathematics of students of class IV primary school.

Communication skills are the ability to express ideas both verbally and non-verbally. Learning outcomes are the level of acquisition of student knowledge related to the development of competencies. Both of these can be improved in the classroom by using Questioning and Answering techniques. The purpose of the study is to improve communication skills and student learning outcomes in class IV SDN 006 Langgini. The study design used a Classroom Action Research design which consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 29 students in class IV SDN 006 Langgini. The instrument for measuring communication skills used observation sheets while learning outcomes were assessed by providing tests. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed communication skills in first cycle was 63.22 and in second cycle amounted to 73.99 which meant an increase from first cycle to second cycle. Learning outcomes also increased by 74.21 in first cycle and 89.66 in second cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the application of techniques Questioning and Answering can improve communication skills and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 006 Langgini in semester 2019/2020.

This type of research was classroom action research with the method used was the CTL (Contextual Teaching Learning) method. The subjects of the research were students of class XII IPS SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru. The aim of the research was to increase the activities and student learning outcomes carried out by two cycles. Before conducting the learning process, a pre-cycle test was administered with the total score (2390); cycle I (2885), and cycle II (3070). For the average score of pre-cycle test was 68.29, then the first cycle increased to 78.92, and the second cycle increased to 87.71. The results obtained based on the criteria minimum mastery (KKM) 75. This research found that only 8 students (22.86%) fulfilled the minimum criteria while 27 students (77.14%) did not. In the first cycle, the number of students who meet the criteria was 24 (68.57%) with 11 students (31.43%) were incomplete. In the second cycle, 34 students (97.14%) were complete and 02.86% were incomplete. The results based on the high and low pre-cycle score were the highest score of pre-cycle was 85 and the lowest 45; the highest score in cycle I was 95 and the lowest was 80. Based on the range and criteria value with the percentage of pre-cycle was 31.43% (enough); first cycle was very high 37.14 and second cycle was very high criteria 51.43%. The activity of students in each cycle increased ie cycle I amounted to 71.43 and cycle II amounted to 85.71. It can be concluded that learning using the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) method can improve student learning outcomes.

Based on the results of the TIMSS-R study (2015), students' critical thinking skills in Indonesia are still low. This is due to the lack of variation in the learning model used. Therefore, the research conducted aims to improve students' critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The subject of this research was grade 5 SDN Pledokan District Semarang with the total of 16 students (8 male students and 8 female students). This research was a classroom action research with 2 learning cycles. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire critical thinking instruments and test questions for student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. The technique of analyzing data used was comparative descriptive analysis pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The results of this study were an increase in the ability of students from pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. In the pre-cycle conditions of critical thinking skills of students in the high category 18.75%, 37.5% in the moderate category, and 43.75% in the low category, in the first cycle there was an increase in the high category 31.25%, the moderate category 56.25% and in the low category 18.75%, in the second cycle again increased to the high category 43.75%, the medium category 50% and the low category 6.25%. Completeness of student learning outcomes in mathematics in pre-cycle reaches KKM only 37%, then in the first cycle increased to 43.75% and in the second cycle again increased to 75%. Based on these data, there is an increase in critical thinking skills in each category and an increase in student outcomes by 38%.
