Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Game-based Learning model supported by ROMERE teaching aids on student learning activity. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method type, namely Quasi-Experimental Design with a Non-equivalent Control Group design form. The research population involved all students at SDN Langensari 02 Ungaran Barat, consisting of class III A students (as a control class) and class III B students (as an experimental class). The data collection technique used was non-test, in the form of questionnaire sheets, observation sheets, unstructured interview sheets, and documentation (photos/pictures). The data analysis techniques used were the Independent Sample T-Test and the Simple Linear Regression Test. The research results revealed an effect of using the Game-Based Learning model supported by the ROMERE teaching aids on student learning activity. This can be proven from the Simple Linear Regression Test with a sig value of less than 0.05, namely 0.001 <0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that applying the Game-Based Learning model supported by ROMERE teaching aids influences student learning activity. Furthermore, the simple linear regression test revealed an R square R² = 0.401, or 40.1%, indicating that the variable of the Game-Based Learning model supported by ROMERE teaching aids accounts for 40.1% of the variation in learning activity, with the remainder influenced by other variables.

Abstract

One of the issues discovered in the learning process of third-grade students at SDN Gendangank 03, Ungaran District, Semarang Regency, is the low level of student knowledge, as reflected in the average learning outcomes, which still require improvement. This academic achievement indicates that the learning process has not effectively captured students' interest, largely due to the teacher-centred approach. To address this issue, the researcher proposes the Example and Non-Example learning model supported by Horseshoeing tools to enhance students' learning interest. The t-test results displayed a t-value of 4.987 with a degree of freedom (df) of 54 and a p-value (both one-sided and two-sided) of less than 0.001. This indicates that the difference in learning interest between the two groups is statistically significant at a 95% confidence level. In other words, the Example and Non-Example learning model incorporating the horseshoeing tools is significantly more effective in increasing students' learning interest. The statistical analysis of both groups revealed differences in the average learning interest between the control and experimental groups. The control group consisted of 26 students with an average learning interest score of 74.42, a standard deviation of 9.091, and a standard error mean of 1.783. This suggests that the learning interest within the control group exhibited considerable variability among students.

Abstract

Science process skills are an essential aspect that supports critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. The reality reveals that science learning in schools is still dominated by traditional methods focusing on memorising concepts. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) offers a promising approach to improving KPS. PjBL is a student-centred learning model, where students work collaboratively to design, implement, and evaluate projects that are relevant to real life. This study determines the effect of the project-based learning model on empowering students' science process skills by using a systematic literature review (SLR). Systematic Literature Review involves searching and analysing relevant literature from various sources published from 2016 to 2024. A systematic method could identify relevant literature studies to the pre-determined criteria. The applied content analysis ensured the model, method, focus, and results achieved from the study. The results indicate that (a) project-based learning improves students' science process skills, (b) project-based learning is feasible to use for teaching and learning activities, and (c) project-based learning is effective in science learning, especially for improving science process skills. Educators are advised to consider using the project-based learning model in learning strategies to support students' science skills development comprehensively.
