Abstract

Bermudan option is a type of option that has characteristics between American option and European option whose its value never exceeds the value of the American option and is never less than the European option. The objective of this research is to calculate Bermudan call option of John Keels Stock through the binomial tree method using statistics software of Matlab R2010a. Assessment of Bermudan type option relates to discrete issues, in which the Bermudan type option has a certain number of times of early exercise specified in the option contract, where such times can only be made at some time prior to the option due date. Precise pricing for Bermudan type option can be obtained by discrete models such as the binomial tree method, a numerical method that is one of the most popular approaches for calculating option prices. This research uses time series data obtained from BNI Financial Update Corner, FEB UGM. The Bermudan call option price calculation will be compared with the calculation of European option pricing and American option price with underlying asset without dividend. The results show that the price of John Keels's Bermudan type call option using the binomial tree method yields the same value as American type call option and European type call option. Keywords: Bermudan Type Option, Binomial Tree Method, Matlab R2010a, Spss 20

Abstract

For determining the total income amount and load precisely in the same period, there are two available choices which are able to be the recording basis by accountants which are the cash basis and accrual basis. With accrual based reporting, users are able to identify the government’s financial position and its change, how the government funds its activities corresponding with the funding ability, so the real government capacity is able to be measured, In 2010, the accrual based Government Accounting Standard has finished being arranged by the Government Accounting Standard Committee and determined as a Government Regulation in Government Regulation Number 71 Year 2010. Abstract

The accountant has become one of the most prestigious professions around the world since a few decades ago. Research concerning accountant professions has simultaneously been famous and even abundant since then. A number of existing studies discussed these fabulous professions, namely public accountant and chartered accountant, from college students’ point of views. This research offers a new perspective with respect to the type of professions and group of respondents. By undertaking questionnaire survey and interviews with government officers as selected respondents, this study tries to reveal the public officers' perceptions, instead of students, towards accountancy professions in the line ministries and government agencies. The questionnaires were distributed to government employees whose jobs are related to public finance management amounted to 300 questionnaires in total. 104 questionnaires were successfully returned, and from those 97 are valid. This preliminary study focuses on government officers’ attitude because this topic has been unusual. The study becomes more challenging since it also discusses the impact of Ministry of Finance Decree No. 25 of 2014 concerning State Chartered Accountant on the willingness of government officers to choose professional accountant in public sector as an option to pursue their career. We find that respondents agree with the obligation of re-register of chartered accountant and the role of Indonesian Accountant Association in the process of registration. However, respondents who have already been registered in National Chartered Accountants were not sure whether they would be able to undertake continuous learning program until the retirement ages. This study also discloses that most respondents tend to say that in upcoming years, government accountants have more important roles in audit, taxation, education, local government finance, national budget, cost of public services, and non-tax revenue. Finally, this research proposes policy recommendation that government should take professional accountants into account in arranging career path for public officers. Abstract

The application of Accrual-Based Government Accounting Standards (SAP) since 2015 still causes problems including misstatement in Local Government Financial Reports (LKPD). The role of the Inspectorate in minimizing these problems is manifested in conducting a review of LKPD. Preliminary research shows that the implementation of LKPD review in Bandung District has not been effective in detecting financial statement misstatements. This study aims to evaluate and design a risk-based review plan on accrual-based LKPD at the Bandung District Inspectorate, and also expected to be a guideline for Regional Government Inspectorates in planning LKPD reviews to generate government financial reports in accordance with SAP. This study uses a case study approach with qualitative methods. The results of the study show that the LKPD review planning at the Bandung District Inspectorate has been carried out according to regulations and IIA standards, but there are weaknesses at the stage of entity's understanding and risk identification. The design of review procedures that have not implemented a risk-based approach also has an impact on an ineffective review, therefore in this study a risk-based LKPD review plan was designed. The output of this review plan will contain testing procedures in accordance with the risk areas of the financial statements.
