Abstract

Terpenoid Isolated and characterization of terpenoid from the ethyl acetate extract of stem bark of Shorea conica had been done by usingextraction, vacuum liquid chromatography and column chromatography methods. The aim of this research was to isolation and characterization thesecondary metabolites of stem bark of Shorea conica The research results obtained pure compound EA2 the form ofamorphoussolid coloredyellowish-white and has a melting point of 207oC-209oC, soluble in ethyl acetate with RF 0.5 in comparison eluent hexane:ethyl acetate 6: 4 whichpositive with reagent Liebermann-Bouchard. Abstract

Formaldehyde or better known as formalin is one of the food additives that are prohibited and should not be added to the diet according to thelegislation in force. The method used is a qualitative analysis using the reagent kromatofat acid and resorcinol. This study aims to determine thepresence or absence of formaldehyde in salted fish sold in the Pasar Bawah Pekanbaru. Salted fish sampling method used is purposive samplingmethod. The results of a sensitivity test using a chemical reaction reagent kromatofat acid and resorcinol at each concentration as follows: 0.5; 1; 1.5;2; and 2.5 ppm obtained the same results that both kromatofat acid and resorcinol reagent has a minimum sensitivity at a concentration of 1 ppm givepink-purple and purple rings / purple. Abstract

Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan peningkatan kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Kelainan kadar lemak bukanlah suatu penyakit, tetapimerupakan faktor risiko bagi penyakit lainnya terutama penyakit jantung dan pembuluh darah. Berat badan adalah ukuran yang lazim atausering dipakai untuk menilai keadaan suatu gizi manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada penurunan kadar kolesteroldarah dan berat badan pada mencit putih jantan setelah pemberian sari buah jeruk nipis. Metode yang digunakan adalah cholesterol metertest. Dari hasil penelitianmenunjukkan hasil kadar kolesterol yang signifikan (p<0,05). Pada Post Hoc Testterdapat perbedaan signifikan<0,05 antara T0 dengan T1, antara T2 dengan T3 dan T4 tetapi tidak terdapat perbedaan antara T0 dengan T3 dan T4 dan juga tidak adaperbedaan yang signifikan antara T3 dan T4. Pada hasil berat badan menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara T0 dengan T1 daT2, tidak terdapat perbedaan antara T3 dengan T4. Hasil dari analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa sari buah jeruk nipis dapat menurunkankadar kolesterol dan berat badan secara signifikan pada mencit putih jantan, tetapi secara signifikan tidak terjadi perbedaan yang bermaknaantara sari buah jeruk nipis 1,7 ml dan 2 ml.

Abstract

Extraction by percolation method of meniran herb and its characterization has been done. The extraction was carried out by using boiled distilledwater and the resulting percolate was concentrated by using rotary evaporator until the remainni g volume was equivalent to theweight of meniranherbs extracted. The aquaeous extract of meniran herbs was further studied for its characters in terms of non specific, specific and chemical content.It was found that the extract has values of 93.80% ± 4.27 % for loss on drying, 4.78% ± 0.27% for residu of ignition, 0.71% ± 0.18% for insolubleacid ash value and 1.07 for specific gravity parameters. Theinthlayer chromatogram pattern save three spots in which one of them indicated thepresence of quercetin since it has the same Rf value (0.30) to the standard solution of quercetin applied.

Abstract

Identification of optimization studies have been conducted borax in grilled meatballs with diethyldithiocarbamate reagent (DEDTC) and detected byUV-Vis spectrophotometer. Abstract

The research of jelly candy formulation of leaf extract of sweet potato concentration 2% as food suplement has been studied. The formulation consistof six formula with used gelatin as gel forming material. Gelatin concentration 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, and 16% for each formula. The evaluationincluding organoleptic evaluation, panelists test, pH ,weight h omogenity, water rate, and fitochemistry test was been done for each formula. Theresult showed that formula 6 with gelatin consentration 16%, pH 6,22, and water rate 17% the best formula. The data from panelist test wereanalized by one way ANOVA SPSS 17 program, the result showed th at there was significant difference of elasticity, shape and colour for eachformula (p<0,05) and there was not significant difference of s mell and flavour for each formula (p>0,05). Formula 6 was the best formula, that wasnot significant different with jelly candy comparator (COMBI KIDÒjelly).

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fourth with the highest number of patients with gastritis after USA, England and Banglasdesh which totaled to 430 million people.Gastritis become one of the top ten most prevalent disease in outpatient in Indonesia which totaled to 30.154 cases (4,9%). The purposes of this studyto provide an overview of the usage of gastritis drugs quantitatively on outpatient at Departement of Internal Disease at one hospital in RiauProvince, according the proportions of gender, age range, type of gastritis, patent or generic, classes of drugs, type of gastritis drug and combinationsand interactions among the gastritis drug. The type of this study is observational with descriptive method using retrospective data. The selected data isgastritis patient medical record outpatient. The population of this study are the gastritis patient who outpatient at Departement of Internal Disease atone hospital in Riau Province totaled to 124 patients. The highest proportion based on gender totaled 67 persons (54,03%) are women, based on agerange totaled 99 persons (79,84%) are adult (18-55 years), based on type of gastritis totaled 48 cases (38,71%) are limfositic gastritis, based on patentand generic totaled 173 items ( 62,91%) are generics, based on classes of the drug totaled 115 items (41,82%) are proton pump inhibitor, based ontype drug of gastritis totaled90 items (32,73%) are Dexanta [A l(OH)3, Mg(OH)2, DMPS] and Lansoprazol, based on combinations and interactionsamong the gastritis drug totaled 65 items (30,66%) are combination of [Al(OH)3, Mg(OH)2, DMPS] and Lansoprazol.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignancies to women and it is still become a problem because of the increasing cervicalcancer patients. Cervical cancer is the most causing of death in women and generally the patients in advance stage already come to thehospital. the purpose of this research is to evaluate the used of cytostatics agent in cervical cancer patient. This research is an observationalresearch, data collected was used as retrospective by using patients medical record and analysed by using descriptive non-analytic method.Sample collected was taken by using purposive sampling method. The sample were then choose with particular criteria and only 86 patientsincluding the criteria. The evaluation of drug used in this research include right medicine, right indication, right patient and right dose.Result showed the presence of incorrect cases were incorrect doses, incorrect frequencies and incomplete data of 1.01%, 4.04%, 11.11%repectively.

Abstract

Antioxidant activity of combination ethanol extract of starfruit leaf (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and purple sweet potato leaf (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) was measured using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) with vitamin C as comparison . This study aims to determine the best antioxidant activity from the combination of extract of starfruit leaf and purple sweet potato leaf. The extraction was done by maceration method using ethanol solvent. The combination of the two extracts was prepared by comparison (1: 0), (0: ​​1), (1: 1), (1: 2), (2: 1) using ethanol solvent with concentration 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm, 250 ppm and tested its antioxidant activity with DPPH method by Spectrophotometry UV-Vis at 518 nm wavelength to obtain IC50 (Inhibitory Concentration) value. The results showed that IC50 for combination starfruit leaf extract and purple sweet potato leaf with ratio (1: 0), (0: ​​1), (1: 1), (1: 2), (2: 1) were 138.41 ppm, 74.95 ppm, 105.27 ppm, 28.31 ppm, 43.92 ppm and vitamin C is 17.62 ppm. So it can be concluded that the combination of ethanol extract of starfruit leaf (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and purple sweet potato leaf (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) can increase the antioxidant activity of single extract.
