Abstract

This study aims to describe the creativity involved in the process of making leaf-patterned batik using the ecoprint technique among fifth-grade students at SDN 25 Kota Bengkulu. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with the participants being fifth-grade students. Data collection instruments include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification, with data validity ensured through triangulation and member checking. Creativity was analyzed based on four indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. In terms of fluency, Group 1 quickly agreed on a main idea, while Groups 2 and 3 showed more dynamic discussions. Flexibility was observed in all groups' ability to adapt to various challenges throughout the process. Originality was evident in the design ideas, choice of leaves, and motif arrangements, all of which were developed independently without interference from teachers or other groups. Elaboration was shown through the addition of various types of leaves to enrich the details and meaning of the design, as well as strategic adjustments during the drying process to ensure clean and optimal results. In conclusion, each group demonstrated different combinations of creativity indicators during the batik-making process. More than one indicator of creativity could emerge within a single process for each group.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of smart box learning media on the learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) of fifth-grade students at SDN Gugus III, Bengkulu City. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach and the Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were fifth-grade students of cluster III, Bengkulu City. While the research sample consisted of two groups, namely class VA students of SDN 17, Bengkulu City as the experimental group and class V students of SDN 57, Bengkulu City as the control group. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretest and posttest tests in the form of multiple-choice questions to measure student learning outcomes that had been prepared according to learning objectives and cognitive level indicators. The results of the hypothesis test in the experimental group showed that the t count value > t table (3.217 > 2.021) and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.003 < 0.05. These data indicate that there are differences in learning outcomes in the experimental group and the control group due to different treatments, namely learning using smart box media in the experimental group and conventional learning without using smart box media in the control group. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of smart box learning media on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Cluster III, Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the environmental care attitude of fifth-grade students in elementary schools in Bengkulu City. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Group Design. The research population included SDN 69, SDN 71, SDN 72, SDN 88, SDN 89, and SDN 103 in Bengkulu City. The sample consisted of fifth-grade students from SDN 69 (experimental group) and SDN 71 (control group). The instrument used was a questionnaire on environmental care attitudes administered through pretests and posttests. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and t-tests. The results showed that the t-count (2,807) > t-table (2,004) and the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0,007 < 0,05. The average score of environmental care attitude in the experimental group was 44,10, while the control group scored 40,88. This indicates a significant difference in posttest results between the two groups, caused by the different treatments. The experimental class applied the PjBL model with a real project such as ecobrick making, which provided hands-on experience and was more effective in shaping environmental care attitudes compared to the control class that only used the PBL model without a real project. Thus, it can be concluded that the PjBL model has an effect on the environmental care attitude of fifth-grade students in elementary schools in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interactive multimedia based on Canva on the understanding of IPAS concepts among fifth-grade students at State Elementary School Fourteen in Bengkulu City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a matching only pre-test–post-test design. The research sample consists of fifth-grade students at State Elementary School Forty-Five in Bengkulu City as the experimental group and fifth-grade students at State Elementary School Forty-Two (SDN Forty-Two) in Bengkulu City as the control group, selected through cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a 5-question essay test administered through pretest and posttest. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical tests, prerequisite tests, and inferential tests. The average posttest score for the control group was 56.67, while the average posttest score for the experimental group was 77.50. The results of the independent sample t-test on the posttest showed that the calculated t-value of 3.539 was greater than the table t-value of 2.023 (df = 41, α = 0.05) and the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05. This indicates a significant difference in the understanding of IPAS concepts between the two groups. The difference in scores is attributed to the different treatments applied to the two groups. Based on this, it can be concluded that interactive multimedia based on Canva has a positive effect on the understanding of IPAS concepts among fifth-grade students at State Elementary School Cluster Fourteen in Bengkulu City
