The Merdeka Curriculum which currently implemented in Indonesia is designed to optimize students' knowledge, morals, and characteristics through intracurricular activities, by focusing on competency development. This study aims to find out (1) the history of the establishment of the merdeka curriculum, (2) the implementation of the merdeka curriculum, and (3) its impact on SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi. The research was conducted through qualitative descriptive method. Research data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation during the period from October to completion. The results of the study showed that SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi was selected as a School of Mover after going through a strict selection process. This program focuses on developing student learning outcomes holistically, creating a pancasila student profile, and strengthening human resources through training and mentoring. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in this school includes diagnostic assessments to understand student needs, make lesson plan, and the use of flexible and creative teaching methods. Learning is carried out through intracurricular activities, co-curricular activities, and projects to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile. As a result, the Merdeka Curriculum has created a more active and participatory learning environment at SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi. Students develop 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. In addition, teachers and principals play a key role in supporting the success of this implementation. The conclusion of this study shows that the Merdeka Curriculum makes a significant contribution to improving student learning outcomes overall, emphasizing the importance of the role of educators in supporting this change.

Abstract

Studies in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) often focus on researching English needs in the context of commercial tourist attraction areas. Little research has been done in addressing the English needs of community-based tourism (CBT). This study aims to investigate the English needs, specifically the English communicative skills of tourist guides on Untung Jawa island. The investigation is a mixed-method study. Data was collected using a survey questionnaire, interviews, and observation (job shadowing). Twenty-two (22) participants responded to the questionnaire and two tourist guides were interviewed. Job shadowing was also conducted with two tourist guides to record the communicative functions often used in their professional practice. Findings indicated that spoken English communicative function was not an immediate need for the tourist guides considering the little encounter with international tourists. There are some indications that written form of English may be needed in their tourist area. The results imply that the tourist guide needs scripted text that they can use in specific communicative events.

Abstract

Education is essentially a process to develop students' potential comprehensively, including knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values. Teachers play a central role in the success of education, not only as deliverers of material but also as managers of learning. One of the important competencies that teachers must possess is creativity. Teacher creativity is defined as the ability to present new ideas, varied learning methods, and innovative strategies that are able to adapt to the needs of students. The goal of teacher creativity is to create learning that is interesting, motivating, and encourages optimal student learning outcomes. The research method used a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects were 21 grade XII students majoring in Building Modeling and Information Design (DPIB). Data were obtained through questionnaires for the teacher creativity variable, and documentation for the learning outcome variable. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression. The results of the study showed a positive and significant influence between teacher creativity and student learning outcomes. The simple regression equation obtained was Ŷ = 43.093 + 0.497X, meaning that every one unit increase in teacher creativity increases learning outcomes by 0.497 points. Hypothesis test (thitung = 3.165 > ttabel = 2.072) with a significant value of 0.005 (<0.05) indicates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 34.5% indicates that teacher creativity contributes to student learning outcomes, while the remaining 65.5% is influenced by other factors outside the study. In conclusion, teacher creativity plays a very important role in improving student learning outcomes, but other factors such as teaching quality, motivation, facilities and infrastructure, and the learning environment also need to be considered to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
