Abstract

The tradition of Sedekah Laut in Muarareja, Tegal City, is a crucial aspect of the social and cultural life of urban fishing communities. This tradition not only holds religious significance but also plays a vital role in maintaining collective identity and social cohesion amidst rapid social and economic changes. This study aims to elucidate how the ritual of Sedekah Laut in Muarareja functions as a social mechanism among urban fishing communities. Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilized semi-structured interviews with 7 urban fishermen and 3 community members from Muarareja, direct observations, and documentary analysis for data collection. Findings indicate that Sedekah Laut serves not only as a religious ceremony but also as a manifestation of strong social solidarity and sustainable social networks within the fishing community. The study concludes that firstly, Sedekah Laut plays a crucial role in preserving the cultural continuity and community identity of fishermen in Muarareja; secondly, it strengthens social relations among individuals and groups within the community; thirdly, the ritual demonstrates its adaptability and relevance amidst the dynamic social and economic changes along the coastal region. This research provides a foundation for understanding how local traditions can support social and cultural sustainability in continuously transforming coastal communities. The study recommends further interdisciplinary research to deepen understanding of the impacts and significance of this tradition in an evolving global context.

Abstract

Policy is a government activity aimed at providing positive impacts for the wider community. The success of a policy is determined not only by its formulation process but also by its implementation.The implementation of the subscription parking policy in Tuban Regency has shown quite effective results with the involvement of various stakeholders working together with the Tuban Regency Environmental and Transportation Agency, leading to an increase in parking fee revenue. Therefore, this study aims to further examine the implementation of the subscription parking policy in Tuban Regency.The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, analyzing based on Adam Smith's Implementation Model with several research focuses, including idealized policy, target groups, implementing organization, and environmental factors.The results of the study show that the focus on idealized policy has been effective, as evidenced by the interactions initiated by policy formulators such as the Environmental and Transportation Agency, the Regional Revenue Management Unit (UPT PPD), BPKPAD, the police, official parking attendants, and parking service users. The focus on target groups has been effectively achieved by raising public awareness and ensuring the safety and comfort of parking service users. However, the implementing organization was less effective due to insufficient attention to parking service users. The focus on environmental factors, influenced by cultural, social, economic, and political elements, supports the success of the subscription parking policy in Tuban Regency.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and rapid media development, films as a form of popular entertainment have a significant influence in shaping society's understanding of gender equality and feminism. This research aims to analyze gender equality in Barbie films from a feminist perspective, with a focus on Indonesia's young generation, towards gender equality for women in the family and public spaces. The film was chosen as the subject of study because it has the potential to shape the views of the younger generation regarding gender issues and the feminist movement in Indonesia. In line with this aim, this research has a qualitative approach, with an explanatory type of research through case studies. For data collection techniques through primary data and secondary data. Primary data through in-depth interviews, and secondary data through library research and document studies. The theories used are The Politics of Presence by Anne Phillips and The Media of Film by Triana Robbins, Peter Coogans, Bradford W. Wright, and Will Broker, and Tolstoy. The results of this research are to provide a better understanding of variations in public perceptions of gender equality in Barbie 2023, as well as how identity politics factors, including gender identity and patriarchal culture, influence these perceptions. These findings provide in-depth insight into the role of entertainment media in shaping the attitudes and political views of Indonesia's young generation towards gender equality with a focus on gender issues, as well as assisting policy makers in designing communication strategies that are more sensitive to gender equality. The patriarchal culture in the film Barbie 2023 is still a big obstacle to gender equality. The Barbie film helps highlight this issue and invites society to give equal rights to women.

Abstract

Songs can be a means of communication that singers and songwriters want to convey to listeners about what they feel. In songs, there are song lyrics which are part of literary works which contain outpourings of personal feelings, emotions, and expressions of soul experiences in the form of an arrangement of words. One of them is the song lyrics on the album Naura & Genk Juara. The lyrics on the album contain many implied meanings, so analysis is needed using Schleimacher's Hermeneutics theory which is used to understand the meaning of the song from the psychology of the song writer. The aim of the research is to describe, analyze and interpret the psychology of the song lyrics on the album Naura & Genk Juara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include (1) listening to the song carefully, (2) noting the song lyrics carefully, (3) understanding the psychological aspects of the song. Data analysis uses Schleirmacher's hermeneutical approach. The results of the research show that Schleilmacher's psychological interpretation on the album song Naura & Genk Juara describes enthusiasm and never giving up on being a champion, parents' anxiety about their children, preserving nature, annoyance with friends, motivation for having dreams, regrets for children who don't listen to their parents' advice, optimism about being a winner, and friendship.  At the psychological interpretation stage, it can be seen that the lyrics he wrote were created from phenomena that were occurring at that time, many Indonesian children were not mentally strong enough to face challenges in achieving their dreams, so lyrics emerged that provided motivation, besides that, many Indonesian children who do not want to listen to advice from their parents, causing regret.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the pros and cons of women's political cadres in Indonesia by examining Yusuf Al-Qardhawi's thinking as a comparative study. Since ancient times, women have been involved in politics. This is not a new phenomenon; for instance, there are differences of opinion among scholars about the role of women in politics, particularly on the controversial topic of Muslim women's leadership. In addition to other gender equality issues, the debate over the 30-percent quota for women in politics continues to this day. The study compares Al-Qardhawi's thinking with the political reality of Indonesian women using qualitative methods and literary study approaches. The findings show that a moderate and inclusive view came from Yusuf Al-Qardhawi, who stressed the importance of education and women's empowerment as a measure to ensure wider and more effective participation in politics. In his diverse viewpoints and assessments of women's role in government issues, he believes that the above assumptions are not limited to the text, but should also take into account specific circumstances. He believes that man is amukallaf, meaning that he is obligated to love God, observe religion, fulfill commitments, engage in both good and evil actions, and have a purpose.  Al-Qardhawi establishes a number of unique conditions that allow women to assume social roles like judges. He believes that the position does not conflict with social interests; instead, women are required to participate in social activities. The research is expected to provide policymakers and society with new insights into the pro and contra dynamics of women's political cadres in Indonesia, as well as theoretical foundations for the development of more inclusive and fair policies for women in politics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and provide alternative strategies for Muslim fashion clothing traders in the Aek Kanopan Inpres Market who are affected by e-commerce. This research uses qualitative methods to explore the strategies used by traders in facing digital transformation. The object of this research is the Aek Kanopan Inpres Market, with a sample of clothing traders selected using the purposive sampling method. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that merchants apply three main strategies in dealing with e-commerce: focus strategy, differentiation strategy, and low-cost advantage strategy. In the face of increasingly fierce e-commerce competition, traditional Muslim fashion clothing traders in the Aek Kanopan presidential market are implementing various practices to maintain the quality of their products and services. They prioritize product quality by choosing the best materials and following the latest trends in the clothing industry. In addition, they emphasize personalized and friendly service to each customer by holding special promotions and loyalty programs. A focus strategy involves prioritizing the service of loyal customers and maintaining a good relationship with them. The differentiation strategy emphasizes the importance of maintaining product quality and uniqueness to meet customer expectations and compete with e-commerce. The low-cost advantage strategy is implemented by maintaining competitive prices through direct purchases from wholesalers and the use of social media for promotion, which helps reduce marketing costs. Overall, although currently traders at Inpres Aek Kanopan Market operate traditionally, adopting these strategies can help improve competitiveness, attract more customers, and manage business more efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

This study discusses the renewal of the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) concept based on transcendental values and its conceptual implications for empirical legal research and governance policies. PRA is a participatory rural assessment method based on the assumption that villages should be developed from within through a participatory process. The objective of this research is to develop an effective PRA concept and perspective for rural communities with a religious orientation. The research method uses a qualitative approach through description and explanation of legal phenomena and thoughts related to PRA. The findings indicate that the application of PRA in rural assessment and empowerment requires adaptation and alignment of values to maintain the existence of local values and wisdom that shape the characteristics of villages. The integration of the concept of syuro (an Islamic principle) into PRA will result in a concept that respects the participatory nature of PRA and the religious norms of the community. This concept ensures that village governance and development are guided by religious and ethical considerations, creating a more holistic and culturally sensitive approach. In conclusion, PRA adapted with transcendental values can be an effective tool in the empowerment of religious-based rural communities.

Abstract

This study examines creative content strategies in shaping brand image on social media, focusing on PT. Yelo Solusi Kreativa and Rio Purba as the founder. The background of this research is the rapid development of information technology, which has made social media an essential platform for companies to expand their marketing reach and strengthen relationships with consumers. The study aims to understand the effective and strategic application of creative content in shaping brand image. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews, and secondary data came from books, journals, the internet, and other relevant sources. The research subjects were selected through purposive sampling, involving individuals with knowledge and experience related to the topic. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and document analysis. The analysis was conducted systematically and objectively to identify relevant characteristics. The results showed that Rio Purba uses personal social media as a communication and information tool. Social media content was categorized into four types: collaboration, entertainment, information, and education. From June 2023 to March 2024, 45 pieces of content were collected and analyzed. Collaborative content played a role in building personal branding and increasing followers. Entertainment and educational content helped maintain audience engagement. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of creative content strategies in shaping a strong and relevant brand image on social media, which not only enhances visibility but also strengthens relationships with consumers.

Abstract

According to the Minister of State for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Regulation No. 11 of 2011 concerning development policies for child-friendly districts/cities, child-friendly cities are districts/cities that have a development system based on children's rights through planned integration of commitment and resources of the government, community and the business world. comprehensively and sustainably in policies, programs and activities to ensure the fulfillment of children's rights. One of the cities that implements a child-friendly city policy and has received the highest title in Indonesia is the city of Surabaya, however this is not in accordance with the fact that there are still many acts of violence against children and the number is increasing from year to year. Which can be interpreted as meaning that children's rights have not been fulfilled. The aim of this research is to find out how the Surabaya City Government collaborates with the private sector and the community to create a child-friendly city in the City of Surabaya. This research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach by conducting analysis using the Collaborative Governance method from Ansell and Gash which consists of Starting Conditions, face to face dialogue, trust building, commitment to process, shared understanding, intermediate outcomes, Institutional Design, and Facilitative Leadership. The results of the research show that the collaborative process in realizing a child-friendly city in the City of Surabaya has been carried out and has been quite successful, as evidenced by actors ranging from the Department of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection as well as Population Control and Family Planning in the City of Surabaya, the PLATO Foundation and the Children's Forum The city of Surabaya has carried out collaboration well, even though at the share understanding and institutional design stage between parties there is no specific vision and mission or written memorandum of understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of priority village policy programs in accelerating stunting reduction in Sidoarjo Regency. Referring to Siagian's theory of effectiveness which includes the role of government as a stabilizer, innovator, modernizer and implementer, this research examines how these roles are implemented in the local context. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through literature studies which included policy documents, government reports and relevant scientific articles. The technique for determining informants was carried out purposively, by selecting informants who had relevant experience and knowledge regarding the implementation of stunting programs at the village level, namely the Sidoarjo District Health Service. The research results show that the government's role as a stabilizer is reflected in the political and social stability that supports the desires of these programs. As an innovator, the government has succeeded in introducing various new initiatives that improve the quality of children's nutrition and health. The role as a modernizer can be seen from efforts to modernize health and sanitation facilities, as well as educating the public. As implementer, the government shows high commitment by directly implementing various program interventions. This research concludes that a holistic approach that integrates these four government roles has shown significant effectiveness in reducing stunting rates in Sidoarjo Regency. From the series of programs and policies implemented in Sidoarjo Regency to accelerate stunting reduction, holistic effectiveness has been implemented through various program implementations. such as Stabilizers to expand the scope of interventions, Innovators to integrate cross-sector activities, and Modernizers to improve data and information management. As the implementer itself, Sidoarjo Regency also implements regulations and establishes a responsible team, stunting programs can produce a significant positive impact in preventing stunting.
