Burn injuries remain to be a significant issue. The environmental condition in Indonesia contributes to the prevalence of diverse bacterial infection associated with different types of wounds, including burns. The biofilms production at the site of burn wounds significantly contributes to the ineffectiveness of burn treatment protocols. Hereby in this paper we discuss about the mechanism of antibiofilm and the novel therapy for the burn injury. This study was classified as a systematic review approach. The compilation of references will be derived from journal articles obtained using search engines such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and EBSCO. Subsequently, the authors proceed to gather and reevaluate pertinent material and scholarly articles. The occurrence of biofilm is closely associated with burn injuries. These bacterial communities evoke antibiotic resistance, hence impeding the effectiveness of conventional treatment approaches. It is noteworthy that substantially 60% of burn-related mortality is attributed to biofilms. This condition has the potential to develop into a persistent wound, ultimately resulting in sepsis. The development of biofilm or invasive burn wound infection serves as a significant catalyst for the occurrence of sepsis. The administration of anti-biofilm drugs holds significant potential in this context as a proactive measure for reducing the worsening effects of burns. Conclusion : The utilization of anti-biofilm agents has the potential to serve as an innovative therapeutic approach for the treatment of burn wounds in the future. Further investigation is required to explore the potential outcome as well as adverse effects of this drug linked to its potency.

A lipoma is the most typical mesenchymal tumor. Over time, lipomas can grow into substantial masses. Case, A 71-year-old woman complained of a mass in her upper right arm but reported no pain or discomfort. The mass is 13 x 11 x 6 cm in size. Histopathological analysis and a wide excision surgical approach were used. A mass more than 5 cm in diameter is considered a giant lipoma. A differential diagnosis of liposarcoma can be made using a computed tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The two surgical procedures of wide and marginal excision are typically used to treat lipomas depending on the size of the lipoma mass. The histopathological examination has an important role in confirming the diagnosis. The researchers describe a lipoma tumor with a large size in the upper arm after wide excision surgery.

Cancer is a condition characterized by abnormal and uncontrolled cell growth, is aggressive, and can cause death. In Indonesia, the number of cancer cases continues to increase every year. The latest data states that there are around 400 thousand new cases with the death rate reaching 240 thousand cases. Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery are commonly used as modern treatment therapies in cancer patients, but can cause various side effects. The Tapak Dara plant (Catharanthus roseus L.) is one of the popular cancer treatment alternatives, especially the content of alkaloid-derived compounds namely vinblastine and vincristine which have potential as anticancer agents. This review aims to review the benefits and effectiveness of tapak dara as a cancer treatment. Based on the literature review, tapak dara is proven to be effective in treating cancer as the compounds vinblastine and vincristine exhibit anticancer activity through the mechanism of inhibiting cell division. Thus, tapak dara (Catharanthus roseus L.) can be an effective alternative cancer treatment, but needs to be used under close supervision

Prehypertension is a condition in which blood pressure is above the normal range but has not yet reached the threshold for hypertension. This condition increases the risk of developing hypertension and cardiovascular diseases and is also associated with decreased sleep quality. One nonpharmacological approach that may help reduce blood pressure while improving sleep quality is the regular consumption of butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea) infusion. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of Clitoria ternatea infusion on blood pressure and sleep quality in individuals with prehypertension. This study employed a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design. A total of 34 participants with prehypertension were recruited using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. After the intervention, the mean systolic blood pressure decreased to 113.71 ± 8.09 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure to 73.00 ± 4.52 mmHg. The mean heart rate decreased to 73.97 ± 7.14 beats per minute, and the mean Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score improved to 4.41 ± 0.96. Statistical analysis showed significant reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, and a significant improvement in sleep quality, as indicated by a decrease in PSQI scores (p < 0.001). This study concludes that the administration of Clitoria ternatea infusion is associated with a reduction in blood pressure and an improvement in sleep quality among individuals with prehypertension.

Information in society, each person's body that is found can vary in condition, whether it is still fresh or has already rotted. Forensic science is needed to assist the investigative process, including determining the estimated time of death and the suspected cause of death. Thanatology is a branch of forensic science that studies the bodily changes that occur after death and provides definitive evidence of death. Decomposition of tissue is one of the sure signs of death caused by microorganisms both in the body and the environment. The objective of this research was to analyze the difference in decomposition time between the brain and the lower gastrointestinal tract in male Wistar rats buried in lowland soil and highland soil. This research is an experimental study with a repeated measures design. There are two treatment groups, each consisting of six male Wistar rats. Each group was euthanized using chloroform inhalation. The six rats in one group were buried in lowland soil, and the six in the other group were buried in highland soil. The brain and lower gastrointestinal tract organs were dissected. The Mann-Whitney test yielded p = 0.011, indicating significant differences in decomposition time between lowland and highland soil. Additionally, the decomposition time of the brain and lower gastrointestinal tract also showed significant differences, with p = 0.001. There are differences in the decomposition time between lowland and highland soils due to the distinct characteristics of these terrains. The lower gastrointestinal tract decomposes faster than the brain due to a higher population of bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, which aids in the digestion process.

Pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF) is among the most troublesome complications after total laryngectomy (TL), being the cause of substantial postoperative morbidity and prolonged hospitalization. The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical benefit of conservative management with compression dressing in patients who developed PCF following TL. Methods: This case series was performed via an evidence-based strategy based upon the PICO framework. Structured literature search using PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar to identify pertinent studies that support the intervention. Our three patients with post-TL PCF, two of whom obtained complete fistula closure through compression dressing alone. No complications related to treatment were observed; clinical improvement and increased quality of life were apparent. Evidence from the existing literature, while limited, corresponds with these findings. We propose that compression dressing is an effective, cheap, and feasible conservative option for the management of PCF after TL, especially in a resource-limited environment.
