Abstract

This research used constructed wetland system. Flow rate variation used 7,5 l/day, 11,25 l/ day and 15 l/ day with 2 controls. The measurement was done to the concentration of BOD5, N-total, P-total, K-total, coliform and percentage of the rice leaves which were infected. Liquid wastewater from septic tank was used for reactor influent. The results showed decreases BOD5 concentration 91,04% at flow rate 11,25 l/day (Hydraulic Loading Rate = 62,5 l/hari.m2) and the wastewater nutrient concentration for N 55,91% at flow rate 11,25 l/day, P 99,61% at flow rate 15 l/day, K 12,59% at flow rate 11,25 l/day and decreases coliform concentration 98,51% at flow rate 7,5 l/day.

Abstract

Pembangunan dalam arti fisik seperti perumahan dan sarana lain yang semakin meningkat, sehingga kebutuhan akan bahan bangunan juga semakin meningkat termasuk diantaranya paving block. Peningkatan bahan bangunan tersebut berarti peningkatan kualitas maupun kuantitas. Pada penelitian terdahulu serat yang pernah digunakan adalah ijuk, serat bambu dan sisa kompos. Dalam penelitian ini dicoba sampah sebagai serat, akan tetapi sampah disini bukan sampah basah melainkan berasal dari timbunan sampah. Sampah yang digunakan telah mengalami proses pemilahan, pengeringan selama 24 jam, pengayakan dan pemotongan untuk menghasilkan potongan-potongan yang kecil sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai serat dalam paving block.

Abstract

Photocatalytic using UV light and semiconductor particle is an alternative solution for removal NOx. This study is about the removal of NOx originated from pure gas with photocatalytic process using TiO2, where the TiO2 are placed in a continuous flow multiplate reactor and beamed by UV light. This study examined the effect of the plates spacing variation, initial concentration of NOx, and the use of UV light and catalyzes. NOx analyzed using Horiba NOx Analyzer with 0.8 lt/min flow rate. The result showed that photocatalytic process using TiO2 depend on UV light intensity, the plates spacing variation and initial concentration of NOx. Removal efficiency of photocatalytic process using TiO2 + 62 % at the optimal condition.

Abstract

Studi pengendalian lindi dari landfill diawali dengan menggunakan tanah asli dari landfill dengan sterilisasi maupun tanpa sterilisasi dan pasir pantai ria Kenjeran. Kemudian dilakukan pendekatan hasil dengan komposisi tanah yang sama dengan tanah asli landfill Kenjeran. Parameter yang digunakan adalah COD, pH, TDS, kekeruhan dan DO. Guna menunjang hasil yang memuaskan, penelitian ini dilengkapi dengan uji toksisitas terhadap Chanos-Chanos (FORSK) yang merupakan organisme uji yang sudah distandarisasi dan cukup merefleksikan kondisi organisme laut disekitar landfill pantai ria Kenjeran, Surabaya. Hasil yang didapat yaitu nilai konsentrasi LC-50 7,00%, batas atas 13,30% dan batas bawah 3.68% dari hasil uji toksisitas leachate terhadap ikan bandeng.

Abstract

Toxicity test was conducted to obtain the tolerance limit of cadmium concentration for the growth of green algae. The test were done for zinc (ZnSO4) concentrations of 0,2; 1; 5; 25 and 50 mg/l. Observations were done continuously for a period of 96 hours at pH of 5 and 7. Statistic test for concentrations, pH and detention time effects were determined. The results of observations show that the limit of tolerance for green algae (Chlorella sp.) for zinc was 0,29 mg/l at pH of 7 and 0,0052 mg/l at pH of 5. Statistics test showed that the interaction of concentration, pH and detention time decreased green algae’s growth, while the concentration had a greater effect.

Abstract

Air limbah konsentrasi sulfat yang tinggi dijumpai pada air limbah domestik, efluen minyak kelapa sawit dan industri karet. Masalah yang ditimbulkannya adalah bau dan korosi dari reduksi sulfat menjadi hidrogen sulfida. Reduksi ini terjadi pada kondisi anaerobik oleh aktifitas SBR. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengidentifikasi SBR dengan metode PCR pada MBR. MBR yang digunakan terdiri dari 2 kompartemen. Kompartemen pertama dijaga pada kondisi anaerobik sedangkan kompartemen kedua diletakkan membran mikrofiltrasi dengan ukuran pori 0,2 mm. Hasilnya adalah SRB 385 dijumpai sebagai komunitas mikroba yang dapat mereduksi sulfat pada air limbah.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the unit of slaughterhouse treatment plant and find the basic problems, which caused it couldn’t work as properly. Then designed a strategy to attract the operator of illegal slaughterhouses to do the activity at the legal slaughterhouse. The result showed that there were several strategies that could be implemented on this case and divided into two major strategies, which were technical strategy and the non technical strategy with depend on its urgency which were long term strategy, middle term strategy and short term strategy.

Abstract

Dengan memanfaatkan perbedaan isapan matriks tanah dan variasi gradasi butiran tanah dengan sistem butiran keatas yang semakin kecil sebagai media yang ditanami dengan tanaman Kana (Canna sp) dan Pacar Air (Impatiens balsamina) untuk mengalirkan air limbah domestik secara upflow dan mengevapotranspirasikannya sehingga terjadi penurunan kadar air limbah domestik dan total coli dalam tanah. Untuk tanaman Kana, berdasarkan evapotranspirasi komulatifnya didapatkan yang optimal adalah variasi I yang tersusun dari tanah taman-pasir 0,15 mm – pasir 0,297 mm dengan nilai 5.055,5950 gram. Removal coli terbesar yaitu 99,62 %. Untuk tanaman Pacar Air, berdasarkan besar evapotranspirasi komulatifnya yang optimal adalah variasi IV dengan susunan tanah lempung-pasir 0,297 mm – pasir 0,425 mm dengan nilai 5.620,6816 gram. Removal coli terbesar yaitu 98,89 %.

Abstract

An aerobic sequencing batch reactor (SBR) was used to investigate the optimum organic concentration and the ratio of fill – react time. The synthetic wastewater used had approximately COD of 10,000 mg/l; 8000 mg/l; 4000 mg/l; and 2000 mg/l, in the room temperature between 23 – 26 °C. The ratio of fill – react time was (2:2) hours, (2:4) hours, and (2:8) hours. The results showed that the optimum COD reduction of 70.62% was achieved in the influent concentration of approx. 4000 mg/l COD with the fill-react ratio of (2:2) hours.

Abstract

This research used three kinds of concentration of detergent, three kinds of coal media size, three kinds of media height in columns adsorption and three kinds of detergent type and was done in laboratory scale. This research resulted for the influence of condensation concentration, seen [by] that excelsior of condensation concentration, on the wane operation time. While for the influence of media height, a high addition of media will improve the efficiency removal. This research have also yielded by the kinetics constantan of adsorption and capacities of coal media for the detergent of So Klin, Rinso And Daia.
