Abstract

Metal pipes with large diameter are mainly used for main distribution networks. As prevention effort to corrosion pipe used coating or combining by cathodic protection as protection complement intended to protect part of main distribution pipe, that is use the type of coating coatlar cathodic protection with impressed current. From result of analyst and system evaluation, in the reality in some cases system of cathodic protection at this mains distribution pipe was not operated properly due to poor design, construction, and maintenance.

Abstract

This research conducted to know the efficiency degradation of PV and oil content at IPAL PT Pantja Motor with addition of Santabac GC 603, in laboratory scale and field with the time detensi 1 day. Result got for the efficiency of laboratory scale without addition of Santabac GC 603 is PV 78,1-80% and also oil content 49-51%, while with the addition of Santabac GC 603 is PV 81,9-82,9 % and 78,2-80 % oil content. For the scale of field, efficiency without addition of Santabac GC 603 is 76,6-78,3 % PV and 47,1- 48,4 % oil content and also with the addition of Santabac GC 603 is 79,5-81,1 % PV and 77,1-79,4 % oil content.

Abstract

Aggradation of the urban drainage channels caused by sediment transport discharge from upstream Sq, sheet erosion from catchment area Se, and decomposition of domestic solid wastes entering to the channel Sd. Formulation for the aggradation is S = Sq + Se + Sd. Each is from Engelund and Hansen, formulation of the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) from Wischmeier and Smith, and Marsudiantoro and Soeryantoro. From the result, the influence of sediment transport and sheet erosion to aggradation process of channel are small (5,39% and 7,45%), while the most part of aggradation came from solid waste's decomposition (87,16%).

Abstract

Based on this study, it was revealed that the combination of alum, peat, and lime could neutralise pH and remove color, turbidity, and organic content. Optimum removal was achieved with alum, peat soil, and lime content of 40 gr/l; 40 gr/l, and 20 gr/l, consecutively. The pH changed from 7,06 to 7,86 , while the removal of color, turbidity, and organic content was 97,5 % (from 500 TCU to 12,5 TCU), 98,5 % (from 119,66 TCU to 1,8 TCU), and 90 % (from 476,55 TCU to 47,48 TCU).

Abstract

Rotatable reactors were used in this experiment. Oxygen was continously supplied into the reactors until the compost was mature. Using a motor, the rectors were rotated daily at a speed of 1.5 rpm for 5 revolutions. Domestic waste sludge was added to the reactor to have an initial C/N ratio of 30. The sludge was mixed with the compost before being inserted to the reactors. The results showed that oxygen of 9.07-114.4 l/kg.day was required in order a mature compost within 7 days. This was proved by having a C/N ratio of < 20 and stable temperature. The compost quality was adequate as shown by the pH of 6-8.5 with N concentration of 2.2-2.5%, P of 0.21% and K of 0.34%.

Abstract

In this project, Sequencing batch reactor (SBR) was operated under anaerobic condition during acidogenic phase for high glucose concentration biodegradation. The results show that for COD concentration of 30.000 mg/l the ratio of fill detention time and react time as 2 : 4 (hour/hour) gave the optimum COD removal of 49,2% and for 60.000 mg/l COD the optimum ratio was 2 : 8 (hour/hour) which gave 58,29% COD removal. From the total volatile and production point of view, the optimum condition for both concentrations was 2 : 8 (hour/hour). Biomass concentration was still above 2.000 mg VSS/l, whereas methane was relatively not be able to be detected.

Abstract

The research used aerobic digester reactor in batch system and sludge dryer used sand as media. Variable used were aeration time, oxygen supply system and time of drying. The observed parameter were optimum aerator time, reaction rate coefficient, drying time, and solid content, water content, C/N ratio, and coliform bacteria. The optimum aeration time is 12 days. During the aeration time, microorganism grow at specific growth rate (m) 0,1952/day and the decay rate (kd) 0,5341/day. The air supplay with constant system at 5,5 L/min is better than fluctuation system, because gives C/N content 21:1, that suitable for mature compost standard. The time of drying of digested sludge 14 days at 70% moisture is better than 7 days, with C/N content more than 30:7 and water content close 30 %.

Abstract

Abstract Result of air quality at road sides for Nox, SO2, O3, CO and SPM10, were still below ambient quality standard, with the average from morning till afternoon were NOx : 0,0127 ppm, SO2: 0,0251 ppm, O3 : 0,0535 ppm, CO: 0,0610 ppm, and SPM10: 54,4 ug/M3. The average hydrocarbon was more than air quality standard. The result of evaluation with ISPU on busy time where was classified as medium which was cause by the SPM10. Meanwhile, average lead (Pb) contain in tea leaf was 5,00 ppm in dry plant.

Abstract

Pursuant to analysis efluen of textile wastewater treatment plant, still contain high of color in the effluent. This research using Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) and lime to remove the color in a batch or continuous mode. A jar test was used for the batch while sedimentation vessels were for the continuous experiment. From research result obtained that PAC can remove the colour efluen aboat 73,51 % and with the kaolin addition can remove 78,92 % of the color.

Abstract

Hybrid aerobic laboratory scale reactor study was aimed to examine the reactor performance at different recirculation ratios and COD feed. Four reactors were constructed and run in parallel with recirculation ratio of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. Using a synthetic wastewater, COD feeds were 200 mg/l, 400 mg/l, and 600 mg/l. The reactors performance, in fact, was affected by the recirculation ratio and COD feed. Higher recirculation ratio caused a better COD and ammonia removal. On the other hand, the removal decreased when COD feeds were increased. Based on the soluble COD and BOD concentration, the COD, BOD, and ammonia removal at two hour hydraulic retention time were 60 – 78%, 80 – 90%, and 30 – 55% respectively. Although the ammonia removal was happened, nitrification was not identified.
