Abstract

The ship with the outboard engine is intended to make it easier for fishers to operate and maintain. However, the magnitude of the vibration due to the excitation of the engine during operation adversely affects the surrounding structures. It is evidenced by measuring the vibration amplitude of more than 0.02 mm at several points around the ship engine foundation. This study aims to reduce these vibrations by changing the canal's dimensions as a foundation and using damping rubber as the simplest solution. The analysis was carried out by calculating the vibration parameters of 2 types of machines, SR1110 and S1100. The numerical method is used to calculate the vibration's amplitude by varying the value of channel stiffness and rubber damping on the machine foundation. Supporting data is obtained by measuring the vibration amplitude at several points around the foundation. The magnitude of the previous vibration amplitude is 0.078 mm for the SR1110 type and 0.069 mm for the S1100 type, which exceeds the limit still. The amplitude is reduced by changing the foundation's dimensions and using a rubber damper (c). With the new foundation dimensions, the amplitude for the diesel engine type SR1110 becomes 0.0245 mm and type S1100 becomes 0.0238 mm. Increased stiffness and the addition of rubber succeeded in reducing the vibration amplitude by a significant value. The amplitude was reduced by 69% for the SR1110 engine type and 65% for the S1100 engine type within the allowable limit of less than 0.02 mm to 0.03 mm based on Barkan's observation results.

Abstract

The welding use correct process parameters will produce joint with optimum in mechanical properties. The current is a very important process parameter in welding. Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process carbon steel A53 Gr B uses current variations can be an option to get the best quality joints. The purpose of this research is to get optimum mechanical properties and microstructure by varying the current. The experimental method uses GTAW process by varying current in welding A 53 Gr B using a single V butt joint and a 5G welding position, the Argon protective gas flow rate of 15 liters per minute with filler rod ER 70 S-6. This process also uses 11-13 Volt voltage with DCEN polarity and current 70, 90, and 110A. Based on ASME Section IX, the test results show that the specimen with a current of 90A gives optimum results with a tensile strength of 480 MPa and a hardness value of 190 HV, whereas specimens with welding current of 70A bring incomplete penetration defects in the weld area. The use of welding current 90A in this research provides welding results with better mechanical properties and microstructure compared to the use of currents of 70 and 110A

Abstract

Pada Vector Control terdapat dua pengaturan arus stator, d-axis dan q-axis. Arus stator d-axis dan q-axis berdampak terhadap performa motor induksi. Pengendalian d-axis dan q-axis dapat menggunakan pengendali PID, akan tetapi sulitnya untuk menentukan nilai Kp, Ki, dan Kd. Algoritma Particle Swarm Optimization dapat mencari nilai optimal dari beberapa kelompok. Pada tulisan ini akan diberikan suatu cara pengaturan performa motor induksi metode arus stator d-axis dengan menggunakan kontroler PID yang dioptimalkan dengan algoritma Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) berbasis LabView sebagai validasi sistem. Evaluasi yang akan diamati adalah performa motor induksi dengan skema pengujian beban bervariasi saat kecepatan nominal. Dari kedua pengujian pengendali arus stator d-axis menggunakan PID algoritma PSO dan PID tanpa algoritma PSO, PID-PSO menghasilkan performa  kecepatan yang baik serta mampu mereduksi konsumsi arus fasa, ripple arus stator d-axis dan THD arus fasa dibandingkan tanpa PID-PSO. Sehingga, PID-PSO didapatkan efisiensi sebesar 89,02% pada kecepatan nominal dan beban 5 Nm.
