Abstract

The use of wireless communication system as a communication medium in control system has been getting popular. Sending information is getting easier with wireless network for example internet. SMS technology has also been used in the house as remote control switch, but there are still many weaknesses including user must know the format of SMS text and have trouble when more and more switches are used. Beside location and condition of the switch in the house is not known directly. Therefore we need a system that can control house’s switch by knowing location and condition directly through pictures.The purpose of this final project research is to design and create a tool that can  control switch remotely using wireless communications with the image display’s position of switch so that we can immediately find out controlled switch . Switch condition is analogue with condition of the  microcontroller pin ATmega8535. In this final project the system is divided into two, namely transmitter and receiver. Transmitter section prepares house plans image data that has been processed and then sent to receiver while receiver interprets image data to determine commands to the microcontroller ATmega8535. Condition of switch can be seen on LED that is connected to microcontroller pin. Based on the test results, it is found that installation image character, changing the color of image character and scanning house plans image in accordance with determined run. Command are sent through serial port properly executed by microcontroller. There’s no error that occur during entire course of the program. In using of ad hoc networks have influencing factors  that is the distance, type of laptops and barrier. Keyword :   transmitter, receiver, house plans image, image character, ad hoc network, serial port,  microcontroller ATmega8535

Abstract

Iris is a part of the circle around the eye pupil. Iris has a very unique pattern, different in each individual. On this basis the iris can be used as the basis for the introduction of biometrics. To identify the texture of the iris in an eye image, method of texture analysis can be used. There are several methods of texture analysis, one of which is to use a wavelet based on image feature extraction energy. The analysis uses the energy characteristics contained in wavelet transform. Based on that reason, in this research an application program to identify the iris of the eye based on Daubechies order 4 wavelet transform.  Eye image used in this research was acquired and processed, beginning take on the characteristics and texture of the iris image which converted into polar form. Then the feature extraction is done using Daubechies wavelet transform order 4. The characteristics obtained is in the form of the energy value. The next stage is the recognition  using nearest normalized Euclidean distance. Tests carried out in the research consist of four types: influence of sample database, influence of the decomposition level of Daubechies wavelet transform order 4, influence of different input image formats, and testing on eye images which are not in database. From the test results, it can be concluded that the highest recognition rate with the parameters shown in testing Daubechies wavelet transform order 4 level 4 with two samples iris image stored is 86.66%. The lowest recognition rate is shown in tests with Daubechies wavelet transform order 4 level 6 with one sample iris image stored is 62.5%. Then from the results of testing the influence of different input image formats, it can be concluded that the samples taken from 40 individuals which one sample is take for each person, use the format BMP as  well as with use JPEG format. Whereas, from the test result for eye images which are not in database with threshold 0.3559, of the recognition level is 96%. Keyword :   texture analysis, Daubechies wavelet transform order 4, iris, Euclidean distance

Abstract

OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is a transmission technique uses multiple frequencywhich each carrier is orthogonal. Each sub-carriers are modulated with a conventional modulation technique at a low symbol rate. This modulation can be modulated Phase Shift Keying (PSK).Problem of interference or multipath fading can be handled withMIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output). This system uses a number of antennatransmitterand receiverto make the signal reflection as the main signal amplifier so that will support each other . This final project ​​simulates performance of MIMO-OFDM  with Alamouti STBC (Space Time Block Code) and MRC (Maximal Ratio Combining) withQPSK modulation at Rayleigh Fading Distribution Channel and AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise). The simulation results shows it need s Eb/No = 5dB to achieve BER = 10-5in both MIMO techniques.BER = 0 when Eb/No greater than 5 dB at STBC and BER = 0 when Eb/No greater than 5 dB at STBC . Better BER of MIMO STBC than MIMO MRC  found on almost all values ​​of Eb/No. Based on the simulation,  performance ofSTBC-OFDM technique have advantages 1 dB fromMRC-OFDM technique to achieve BER = 0. Keyword :   OFDM, STBC, MIMO, BER

Abstract

The higher the risk of poisoning for passive and active smokers if they smoked in a closed room. More than 4,000 chemicals and carcinogens contained in cigarettes would be more dangerous as cigarette smoke trapped in confined spaces. Poisons can enter the body in the maximum amount and in a short time. Leaving the window open space will not solve the problem. Cigarette smoke is often blew back into the room and continue to stay in the room for hours. In this final project, designed a special room to smoke a smart, using a special ventilator that will absorb the smoke of ciagrette combustion. Ventilator will do the absorption of gases from burning cigarettes based on the many levels of CO gas in the room. Control is performed by the microcontroller ATmega 8535 using Proportional Control method based on carbon monoxide gas sensor MQ7. Abstract

Object-oriented concept is a set of methods for the analysis, design, and programming that enables software developers can build software that is reliable, easy to use, easy in maintenance, and well documented. The concept of Inversion of Control (IoC) is able to handle this by allowing class to organize existing objects. Java programming language is one of object-oriented programming language. Google Guice is a Java framework that embraces the concept of the IoC. This framework has several components, such as the binder, annotation, and modules. Information system application that is built to give the IoC concept modeling with Google Guice framework. While the  undertaken research steps is the analysis of the required classes, designing system with the Unified Modeling Language, implementation of the concept of IoC with Google Guice framewrok, and testing of desktop applications. From the testing that has been done, it can be concluded that,  firtsly, the design produces modeling program with programming concepts IoC, secondly Google Guice framework configuration placing objects in another class, thirdly Google Guice can help software developers in doing the development, modification, testing, and facilitate the reuse , the fourth Google Guice framework can reduce the interference in class user interface. Keyword :   Inversion of Control, framework, Google Guice, Java, object oriented.

Abstract

Motor induksi adalah alat listrik yang mengubah energi listrik menjadi energi mekanik. Motor induksi mempunyai banyak keunggulan di segi teknis maupun ekonomis, karena itu motor induksi terutama jenis motor induksi 3 banyak digunakan pada banyak dunia industri. Akan tetapi motor induksi juga mempunyai kekurangan, antara lain arus awal (start) yang besar (5 sampai 7 kali arus normal) yang dapat mengakibatkan penurunan tegangan sistem dan mengganggu kerja sistem peralatan lain dalam satu saluran. Diperlukan suatu metode pengasutan pada motor induksi yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi arus pengasutan awal yang besar.  Metode pengasutan yang digunakan pada tugas akhir ini yaitu metode soft starting, diharapkan tegangan dan arus dari sumber tenaga dapat mengalir masuk kedalam motor AC secara bertahap, sehingga tidak memerlukan arus pengasutan yang besar.  Soft starting  dilakukan dengan menggunakan komponen elektronika daya yaitu triac, sedangkan tegangan masukan motor induksi diatur dengan memberikan sinyal tunda dan sulut pada triac dengan waktu tertentu. Sinyal tunda dan sulut untuk triac diatur oleh mikrokontroler ATmega 8535.Pada perangkat keras soft starting dapat digunakan juga sebagai pengereman soft stoping dengan mengurangi secara perlahan tegangan yang masuk ke beban. Modul soft starting yang dirancang mempunyai waktu soft start selama 24 detik dan waktu soft stop 9 detik. Pada beban motor induksi 3 fasa besar arus starting relatif terkendali dan lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan metode DOL dan wye delta walaupun masih terjadi sedikit lonjakan arus saat starting. Sedangkan untuk soft stoping dapat menghentikan motor secara perlahan walaupun tidak bias berhenti secara langsung. Keyword :   Motor induksi 3 fasa, soft starting, triac, mikrokontroler atmega 8535.

Abstract

Pada era teknologi informasi seperti sekarang ini, efisiensi waktu dan tenaga, serta kemudahan dalam mendapatkan suatu informasi sangatlah dibutuhkan. Dalam perusahaan eksport hasil laut kecepatan dalam pengolahan data  sangatlah penting. Oleh karena itu, harus ditunjang dengan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai. Pada perusahaan ini masih menggunakan system computer manual dengan mencatat semua data menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft office excel sehingga proses penelusuran laporan barang masuk dan keluar menjadi lama karena melihat sheet by sheet . Sehingga sangat dibutuhkan suatu sistem yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dibuat aplikasi sistem yang mampu memberikan informasi untuk laporan persediaan barang secara cepat dan tepat. Untuk membangun sistem tersebut, maka dapat dilakukan pembuatan aplikasi berbasis web dengan menggunakan framework PHP sebagai kode programnya dan MySQL sebagai basisdatanya. Adapun langkah-langkah penelitiannya meliputi: analisa kebutuhan sistem, perancangan metode  dengan UML meliputi diagram use-case, urutan, aktifitas dan statechart, implementasi atau pembuatan kode program, dan pengujian sistem. Aplikasi sistem informasi yang dibuat dalam tugas akhir ini memberikan kontribusi yang cukup berarti bagi sistem laporan perusahaan eksport hasil laut. Dari hasil pengujian dapat diambil beberapa kesimpulan, di antaranya adalah: bahwa sistem dapat mengetahui secara pasti dan cepat jumlah ikan yang masuk setiap harinya, sistem dapat memberikan kemudahan kepada manager perusahaan untuk melihat mengambil keputusan bisnis, sistem juga dapat memberikan laporan transaksi pembelian raw material dari suplier. Keyword :   sistem informasi, raw material, persediaan barang,  codeigniter.
