Abstract

This study aims to 1) describe the different characteristics of racing pigeons and doves male high (eye color, fur color, head shape, and the shape of the body). 2) identifying differences in the characteristics of high male pigeons and racing pigeons male). The research was conducted in December 2015 in captivity and pigeon racing pigeons high on the road abdinegara number 43 Sumur Batu, Teluk Betung and Pagar Alam road number 49, Tanjung Karang Barat, Bandar Lampung. This study used survey method with the observation of qualitative and quantitative characteristics. The results showed qualitative characteristics at high male pigeons dominated by the color of the yellow, the color of feathers tritis, rounded head shape and body shape banana. As for the male pigeon racing is dominated by the color of the iris yellow, Prumpung coat color, head shape turtledove, and body shape banana. High pigeon males have an average length of beak 2,53 ± 0,50  cm longer and shorter body weight ie 331,32 ± 15,36 gr compared to males racing pigeons which have a longer half-life 2.46 ± 0,50 cm and weight 444,03 ± 55,31 gr and wide flutter higher saayap namely 28,93 ± 1,08 cm compared to the racing pigeons 25.16 ± 0,79 cm and length leg lower 8,46 ± 1,30 cm than racing pigeons cm 14.93 ± 0,86 cm. Abstract

This study are determines to: 1) the effect of ND vaccine dose to the number of white blood cells produced in the female ducks; 2) the effect of ND vaccine doses to the amount of antibody titers produced in the female ducks. This research was conducted in December 2015 until January 2016, located in the Sabah Balau, District of Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung regency. Analysis of white blood cells (WBC) conducted in the Central Veterinary of Lampung, while the number of antibody titer was conducted in PT. Vaksindo, Jakarta. The experimental design used in this study is completely randomized design with three replications and 6 treatments (P0: injected 0.5 ml of distilled water, P1: 0.1 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P2: 0.2 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P3: 0.3 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P4: 0.4 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P5: 0.5 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses). The treatment given to 5 days old female ducks with inactivated ND vaccine.  White blood cells are tested by using the WBC test while antibody titers were tested by using the HI test.  The data result were analyzed by ANOVA at 5% significance level and will be continued by Least Significant Difference (LSD) in white blood cells because the value of analysis of variance showed tangible results. The results of this study showed that giving of inactivated ND vaccine doses significantly (P <0.05) to the number of white blood cells, but did not significantly affect (P> 0.05) titer of antibodies. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate and evaluate of the physiological responses of Mojosari’s male ducks that given different levels of crude protein (16, 18, 20, or 22% from dry feed). This study has been conducted for 75 days at the Integrated Laboratory Department of Animal Husbandry, of the Agriculture Faculty of the University of Lampung. The total amount of male’s ducks about 48 animals consisted of 16 ducks that is placed in a different plots, so that each plot consists of three male ducks. The male’s ducks are divided into four treatments, which is giving feed in a different protein levels, 16 , 18 , 20 , and 22 % . Each treatment repeated four times. The design of this research using randomized block design and data obtained are analyzed. In conclusion, that ration with crude protein levels of 16, 18, 20, and 22% has no significant effect (P>0.05) on physiological responses of Mojosari’s male ducks and all ration treatment provides the same physiological response ducks on ration levels crude protein 16, 18, 20, and 22%. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to observe the potential of crop residues as the alternative forage feed to development of ruminant livestock in South Lampung Regency. This research was carried out in South Lampung Regency on December 2015 until April 2016.This research used survey method with Purposive Sampling. Edible Porpotion or portion that can be consumed based on the calculation of this research, the total production of crop residues based on dry maatter of the three materials was 611.257 tons per year. The result of this research showed that the carrying capacity in 17 subdistricts located in South Lampung regency based on Animal Unit (AU) were 268.095,00 AU. The Concentration Index Livestock based on the calculation in South Lampung Regency has a range valeu from 0,15 until 2,49 by the average valeu was 1,00. Based on the calculation of ruminant livstock population increase capacityobtained the highest grade in Palas Subdistrict of  25.351 AU, but there was four of subdistricts that has value minus is Jati Agung, Merbau Mataram, Sidomulyo and Rajabasa Subdistrict so it was not potential to increase  number of ruminant livestock if only rely on carring capacity from residues crops. Keywords : Residues Crops Production, Carring Capacity, IKT, KPPTR

Abstract

This research aimed to determine microbiologic status observation of the Ettawa Crossbred milk in Sungai Langka Village Gedong Tataan District Pesawaran Regency. This study used a survey method. Data retrieval in this research by questionnaire. The study was conducted from Mei—Juni 2016 in the Laboratory Veteriner Office of Lampung. The study used 15 samples from Ettawa Crossbred Goat in Sungai Langka Village Gedong Tataan District Pesawaran Regency. Parameters of microbiologic status observed total plate count, coliform, and E. coli. The result showed that 26,67% or 4 samples (KU-3, TH-1, TH-2, and TH-3) of milk sample had total plate count (TPC) excess of standard SNI, 83,33% or 11 samples of milk (Y-2, Y-3, KU-1, KU-4, TH-1, TH-2, TH-3, ED-1, ED-2 BD-1, and SK-1) had coliform excess of standard SNI, and 13,33% of milk sample had E.coli. Standard used the National Standardization Agency (NSA) 7388:2009 about the maximum limit of microbial contamination in milk.
