Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efficiency of marketing channels and margins of melinjo chips in Sukamaju village, Teluk Betung Timur Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City. The research is conducted by survey method, in which location is determined purposively.  Respondents of this research, producers of melinjo chips in Sukamaju village of Teluk Betung Timur, Bandar Lampung, are drawn by simple random sampling method.  This research uses analysis method of marketing channel, margin producer's share analysis, and price transmission elasticity. The results of this study indicated that there were two types of marketing channels in Sukamaju village.  The first channel was producer to consumer, and secondly was producer to retailer then consumer.  The marketing of melinjo chips in Sukamaju village had a margin percentage and a market share of 42.00% and 58.00% on channel I; of 33.33% and 66.67% on channel II respectively. Marketing of melinjo chips had been economically efficient with competing margin percentage, but based on Price Transmission Elasticity (Et) marketing system was not efficient with Et by 1,13 (Et >1).Key words: efficiency, margin, marketing channels,  melinjo chips

The data was collected in October 2017 by interviewing 53 respondents consist of 8 PPLs and 45 rice farmer who were drawn by purposive sampling method.  The data was analyzed by qualitative-descriptive analysis, tabulation and Rank Spearman correlation. The study showed that the performance of PPL in BPP Kalirejo was considered high. The competence, work environment, motivation and leadership PPL are related to the performance of PPL. The performance of PPL was related to the productivity of rice.  However the productivity was not related to the income of rice farming.  Although, the productivity of the rice was increasing, income of the rice farmer was considered low due to low price of rice. Key words: income, performance, productivity

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the financial feasibility and the risk of oyster mushroom cultivation which is conducted in Lampung Province, especially in Metro and Bandar Lampung City.  The locations of the research are chosen purposively by considerating that both places were the largest harvesting areas and the highest oyster mushroom production.  The data is collected in month of May 2017, in which respondents are taken by census method with the amount of seven cultivators. They are divided into three categories based on their techniques they use, i.e., the cultivators producing the  planting media to be cultivated and partly to be sold, the cultivators producing the planting media to be cultivated only, and the cultivators purchasing the planting media to be cultivated.  Furthermore, the financial and risk analyses are analyzed by the quantitative analysis.  The result showed that the oyster mushroom cultivation on the three categories were profitable and feasible to be developed based on the value of investment criterias (Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Period (PP), Gross Benefit Cost Ratio (Gross B/C Ratio) and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C Ratio)).  The risk analysis showed that CV (Coefficient of Variation) value was ≤ 0,5 and value of lower limit (L)was  ≥ 0; hence the cultivators were able to avoid the risk.Key words : cultivator, feasibility, financial, oyster mushroom, risk

The results showed that chilli, tomato, chicory, cucumber, and cabbage farming are profitable because of the values of R/C ratio > 1. The income of vegetable farming cropping pattern 1, 2, 3 in a row are Rp203,826,644.43; Rp221,730,908.34 and Rp253,833,536.82 so that the cropping pattern that most profitable for farmers is vegetable farming cropping pattern 3 (chili-tomato-cabbage) with the value of R/C of 3.98.  Key words: cropping pattern, income, vegetable farming

Abstract

Corn is a strategic commodity in the Indonesian economy because corn is for either food or feed. As an important agricultural commodity, the corn production is highly targeted by the Indonesian government, i.e. 24.70 million tons in 2019 or 125% of the 2015 corn production. This target is better stochastically forecasted that its result is an interval in a certain probability level. Therefore, the goal of this research is to stochastically forecast the corn production. The data are time series and obtained from the FAO and the Indonesian Central Bureau Statistics. The data is analyzed by econometrics. The result showed that the corn production would be 18.93 million tons in 2019 with its 95% confidence interval between 17.09 million tons and 20.76 million tons.Key words: corn, forecast, production, stochastic
