Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efficiency of paddy marketing system and value added of rice in Pesawaran District.  This research was conducted by survey method.  The research location is chosen purposively i Kota Jawa Village and Gunung Sari Village, Way Khilau Subdistrict Pesawaran District with consideration that the location is one of the central of paddy production.  The samples of this research were 51 paddy farmers who were selected by simple random sampling. The research data was collected in June–July 2017 and analyzed by descriptive and quantitative analysis.  The method used in this research is the analysis of the model of S-C-P (structure, conduct, and performance) and used Hayami method to determine the value- added of the rice.  The S-C-P model was used to analysis marketing system efficiency.  The results showed that paddy marketing system in Pesawaran District was efficient, it could be seen from the producer’s share who greater than 50%.  There were three rice milling unit (RMU) in research location and all of that rice miling unit gave a positive value-added to owner. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze the impact of El Nino phenomenon in 2015 on rice farming income and on cropping pattern of farmers and to figure out mitigation efforts of farmers to anticipate the impact of the phenomenon. This research was conducted in two villages in Natar Subdistrict South Lampung Regency in August - November 2016. They are Pancasila Village which represents a pump irrigation area and Negararatu Village represents a technical irrigation area. Respondents were 76 rice farmers who were chosen simply randomly. The study used a quantitative descriptive analysis method. The study showed that El Nino phenomenon had no effect on farming income, and on cropping pattern.  Farmers mitigated by increasing the costs of water pump.Key words: cropping pattern, el Nino, farming income, mitigation

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the level of farmers’ participation, the factors associated with the level of farmers’ participation and the relationship between the level of farmers’ participation and the success of the program.  Data of this research were collected in February-March 2018.  The respondents are 66 rice farmers members of farmer groups joining the program who are chosen randomly  The research is a survey and data are analyzed using Rank Spearman and descriptively.  The results showed that the level of farmers’ participation is in a low catergory.  Factors related to the level of farmers’ participation in PUPM program are farmers’ knowledge on the program, frequency of their participation in extension activities, and level of farmers’ cosmopolitan character.  There is a significant relationship between farmers’ participation and the success of PUPM program in Palas Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the profitability, factors that affect production and production efficiency of cassava farming.  The research is conducted by survey method in Natar District of South Lampung Regency from June to August 2017. The 56 research samples are obtained by simple random sampling method.  Primary data is obtained from direct questionnaires interview with cassava farmers and secondary data obtained from several related institutions.  Data is analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by income analysis and production function of Cobb Douglas.  The results showed that cassava farming in Natar District of South Lampung Regency was profitable for farmers of Cassesart variety and not profitable for other varieties.  Factors affecting cassava farming for respondents of Cassesart variety were land area, urea fertilizer and labor, for respondents of other varieties were land area and labor.  Production process was not efficient and in increasing return to scale phase.Key words: cassava, efficiency, production, profit

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing mix and development strategy which is applied to the agroindustry of Coffee Powder of Intan Brand in Bandar Lampung City.  This research was conducted purposively in the agroindustry of Intan Brand Coffee Powder in determined Bandar Lampung City of Lampung Province.  Data collection of this study was conducted from March to April 2017.  This research is a case study, employed 14 people as respondents.  The research data is analyzed by qualitative descriptive and SWOT analysis.  The results of this study indicated that the marketing mix applied to the Intan Brand Coffee Powder agroindustry were (a) good quality product, (b) price determined by competitor price, (c) located at strategic place, and (d) promotion activities that have been applied by Intan Brand Agroindustry Coffee Powder was by face-to-face sales and sales promotion.  The development strategy of Intan Brand Coffee Powder agroindustry in Bandar Lampung City were (a) the owner of agroindustry was determining the policy on utilizing the technology, (b) utilizing the location in the market and continuing to cooperate with PTPN 7 in order to have a bigger opportunities (c) maintaining good quality product so that the product could still competing with similar business at the market, (d) empowering the ability and human resource skills to resolve the limitations of capital in following technological developments.Key words: coffee powder, development strategy, marketing mix

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the economic and noneconomic benefits received by the members, the participation level of cooperative members and affecting factors. This research was purposively conducted at KSP Subur Makmur Sejahtera, Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung Regency from January to February 2018 with 48 respondents randomly taken by using Simple Random Sampling method. Data were collected by using a survey method and were analyzed descriptively using Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Seemingly Unrelated Regressions (SUR). The results showed that the average of economic benefits received was Rp789,05.,62 per year, and noneconomic benefits received as the satisfaction level of cooperative members was classified at the level of satisfied members. The participation level of the cooperative members attending annual meeting, paying compulsory savings, and utilizing the cooperative enterprises were each considered as average, low, and high category. Factors which affected members to participate in attending annual meeting were age, formal and nonformal education, the number of dependent family members, noneconomic benefits, distance, and members’ perception. Mean while formal education, noneconomic benefits, and distance affected the participation level of compulsory savings payment.  Lastly, ages, formal and nonformal education, the number of dependent family members, economic benefits, and distance affected the utilization of cooperative enterprises.Key words : cooperative, members, benefits, participation

Abstract

This research aims to know how much income of producer of klanting agroindustry, marketing channels, and the efficiency of klanting agroindustry marketing at Karang Rejo Village, Negeri Katon Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency, and Lampung Province.  The research is conducted by a survey method.  The total of respondents is 32 producers and 146 merchants. The research data was collected in December 2016 until March 2017 and analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative.  The result showed that the amount of klanting agroindustry producers’ income was Rp2,018,932.67/month with R/C 1.38 on cash and Rp1,649,645.49 /month with R/C 1.29 on total cost. It meant that the klanting agroindustry was feasible to be run.  In addition, there were four kinds of marketing channels on klanting agroindustry at Karang Rejo Village. Marketing system of klanting agroindustry was still not efficient, because the value of elasticity transmission price was less than one.Key words: agroindustry, efficiency, klanting, marketing

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze implementation of bioindustrial program, the level of farmer’s participation,and factors associated with participation.Research was conducted in August-September 2017.  All 44 farmer members of four farmer groups carying out the Bioindustry program are respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively using Rank Spearman correlation test. Results showed that the program is implemented well and structured.  The implementation phase consists of: village potential surveys, formation of farmer groups, and socialization and training activities. The four farmer groups conduct different activities, namely: makinh biogas by Tunas Harapan farmer group, making biourine by Harapan Jaya farmer group, and making compost by Mulia Jaya and Mekar Berseri farmer groups. The products of Bioindustry program are exhibited among farmer groups. The participation rate of farmers in the program is classified as high. Factors related to farmers' participation in the Bioindustry program are frequency on extension activities, land size, and the number of cattle owned.Key words: bioindustry, implementation, participation

Abstract

Rice is the staple food for Indonesian people and Indonesia was in self-sufficiency for rice in 1984. Based on the Agricultural Ministry’s Strategic Planning for 2015 – 2019, the government targeted that the self-sufficiency in rice in 2019 by 82,078 million tons of the rice production. It is better that the production is stochastically forecasted in form of the interval of projection possibility with the certain probability level. Therefore, the objective of this research is to know the growth of rice production and to stochastically forecast it. The data used in this research is the production of rice in the period of 1961 – 2015 obtained from the Food  and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Indonesia. The research data is analyzed by econometric method. The result revealed that the rice production would be 77,487 million tons in 2019 and it was 95% confidence interval would be between 74,901 and 80,071 million tons. The growth rate of the rice production in 2018 – 2020  would be 0.6 percent per year. We could conclude that the government target of the rice production was higher than the result of stochastic forecasting.Key words: forecast, paddy, production
