Abstract

Background: Premature rupture of membranes (PROM)is a rupture of membranes before any signs of labor and awaited before the labor occurs. The problem of PROM is a major obstetric issue, because the impact of PROM is an infection in the maternal and ends in an increased incidence of cesarean section due to a failed normal childbirth and neonatal. Factors that causePROMitself is not known for certain, but if we know earlier about the predisposing factors of PROM preventive efforts will be more helpful and reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Objective: Relationship of maternal age, parity, gestational age, and over distention with incidence of premature rupture of membranes in Yogyakarta Hospital. Research Of Method: This research uses retrospective study approach with data focus case control approach. The case population in this research is all maternal mothers who experience premature rupture of membranes in RSUD Yogyakarta in 2017 obtained from medical record. Sampling technique is by total sampling with the number of 427 respondents. Data analysis used is bivariate analysis. Result: Parity has nothing to do with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes due to the value of p value 0.142> 0.05, with the OR value of 0.814. Age of pregnant women has nothing to do with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes because the value of p value 0.671> 0.05, with the value of OR 1.062. Age pregnancy has nothing to do with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes because the value of p value 0.288> 0.05, with OR 1,207 nialai. Uterine overdistesi has nothing to do with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes due to the p value of 0.571> 0.05, with the value of OR 1.240. Conclusion: There is no relationship between maternal age, parity, gestational age, and overdistence with premature rupture of membranes in Yogyakarta Hospital. Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible kidney damage or dysfunction caused by the body's failure to maintain metabolism, fluid and electrolyte balance. Most of the CKD in Indonesia is diagnosed an advanced and late stage, so dialysis is necessary to solve this problem. The most common complaints of hemodialysis patients are muscle weakness. Patients with muscle weakness are due to reduced activity, muscle atrophy, muscle myopathy, neuropathy or a combination of them. One way that can be done as muscle strengthening to support and protect the internal organs and tissues is to do physical exercise. Physical exercises include flexibility exercises, strengthening exercises, and cardiovascular exercises. The exercise was done by giving video education to the patient for 60-90 minutes and 2 sets at the time of hemodialysis. Video is one of the educational media so that patients easily understand and imitate the steps of physical exercise. Objective: To know effectiveness of patient education with video to hemodialysis patient knowledge about physical activity exercise. Methods: This study used quasi experimental method with one-group design pre-post test design. Results: This research is a non parametric statistic test with Wilcoxon test method and got the result of 0.000 (p<0,05). Conclusions: Video education can improve the knowledge of patients with chronic renal failure who run hemodialysis. Abstract

Background:Breastfeeding is not always easy. Mother should have high confidence to breastfeed the infant to get positive response in facing difficulties of breastfeeding. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the methods of self-care and home visit as the efforts to increase mothers’ brestfeeding self- efficacy. Methods: A comparative analytical study using quasy experimental design including 23 subject selected in the home visit group and 23 subjects in the self-care group by using consecutive sampling technique was taken place in two hospital at Balikpapan, Indonesia. The data were then analyzed by using Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test. Results: The results showed that mothers’ breastfeeding self-efficacy score before treatment in both groups ( self care =65.52; home visit =63.65) while self-efficacy score after treatment in both groups ( self care =73.39; home visit =74.91). The self-efficacy score in self care groups before and after treatment (ZW = 5.317, p>.05) in home visit groups were Zw=3.564 (p>.05). Mothers’ breastfeeding self-efficacy score in home visit and self care groups before treatment was ZMW = .231 (p>.05). as compared to self-efficacy score in home visit and self care groups after treatment was ZMW = .793 (p>.05). Conclusion: The study showed that home visit method and self-care method are equally good in increasing mothers’ self-efficacy. Keywords: Breastfeeding, home visit, self-efficacy, self care.

Abstract

Backgraound: Labor process begins with the process of cervical dilatation, which is commonly accompanied by pain. Labor pain caused by uterine contractions can cause thinning of the cervix. Effects of labor pain includes inflammation in uterus and labor dystocia. Effleurage and counterpressure are complementary treatment to stimulate uterine contractions. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of effleurage and counterpressure massages on the progress of cervical dilatation. Method: This was a quasi-experiment study with pre-post test nonequivalent control group. Population was the women in labor in stage I active phase. Research subjects were 68 people that were divided into two groups. Sampling technique was consecutive sampling. Instrument used in this study was the internal examination. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney. Results: The progress of cervical dilatation before and after the intervention of the effleurage was 4.74±0.83 vs 7.47±1.21 with p=0.00 and the result for the counterpressure group was 4.59±0.66 vs 8.03±0.96 with p=0.00. The average improvement of cervical dilatation on the effleurage and counterpressure groups was 2.73 vs 3.44 with p=0.00. Conclusion: The counterpressure has the more significant effect than the effleurage on improving the cervical dilatation. Keywords: Cervical dilatation, counterpressure, effleurage
