Abstract

Honey is a key raw material in the traditional medicine industry, processed through a supply chain that involves various stakeholders, such as suppliers, producers, and distributors. However, the management of the honey supply chain faces several challenges, particularly related to waste, including overproduction, excess inventory of raw materials, and defective products. This study aims to develop a framework for reducing waste in the honey supply chain using a Seven Wastes approach to identify problems, conduct root cause analysis through a fishbone diagram, and map the roles and classifications of stakeholders in implementing solutions. The results indicate that waste is caused by various factors, and the roles of stakeholders are classified based on supply chain drivers. This classification includes the management of machine capacity and maintenance at facilities, the implementation of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Just-in-Time (JIT), safety stock systems, as well as improvements in raw material quality in inventory management and procurement, and information classification using a forecasting system based on historical data. The implementation of these solutions is expected to optimize supply chain management and reduce waste.

Abstract

Abstract[Total Productive Maintenance Strategy for Improving OEE in Industry: A Systematic Literature Review] The problem of repeated machine breakdowns and low efficiency of the production process is still a major challenge in the manufacturing industry. To address this, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is applied as a strategic approach to improve equipment effectiveness and productivity. This article presents a systematic literature review of 50 scientific articles published between 2018 and 2024 that discuss the practice of implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in various industrial sectors. The majority of studies used Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as the primary parameter to measure the success of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), with an average OEE improvement of 10% to 30%. However, various barriers were found, especially in the SME sector, such as budget constraints, lack of technical training, and low management awareness of the importance of maintenance. In addition, the distribution of literature still focuses on medium and large-scale industries, while research focusing on SMEs is still very limited. Thus, there is a great opportunity to develop a TPM implementation model that is simpler, adaptive, and suited to the limited resources of SMEs. This study is expected to serve as a basis for the development of more inclusive and applicable TPM policies, training, and implementation strategies in the future. Keywords: Total Productive Maintenance; Overall Equipment Effectiveness; 8 TPM Pillars

Abstract

In the wake of digital disruption and operational volatility, organizations are compelled to reimagine productivity beyond traditional efficiency. This study introduces an adaptive productivity model by fusing Lean Office practices with Industry 4.0 technologies—specifically IoT, AI, and Big Data analytics—within administrative systems of professional service firms. Using a mixed-methods design, data from 44 participants in a public valuation office were analyzed through multiple regression, revealing a strong predictive capacity (R² = 0.908). Lean Office (β = 0.281, p = 0.016) and Industry 4.0 (β = 0.253, p = 0.020) both demonstrated significant contributions to enhanced productivity and operational responsiveness. Over 93% of respondents observed reduced process time, while 98% acknowledged improved cross-functional collaboration. These results confirm that digital-lean convergence fosters an agile, sustainable, and data-informed working culture. The proposed model offers a future-ready framework for administrative transformation—one that is lean by design, smart by technology, and resilient by culture.

Abstract

Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) On Cartoner Machine Using Six Big Losses In Pharmaceutical Company. This research aims to improve the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the Cartoner machine at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Cikarang, Indonesia. The main problem identified was low availability, primarily caused by frequent leaflet jams and delays in spare part replacement. Root cause analysis using Fishbone Diagrams and Pareto Charts revealed that leaflet jams contributed 67% of unplanned downtime. The study applied the Six Big Losses framework, focusing on downtime reduction. Two improvements were implemented. Technically, the suction system was redesigned to enhance leaflet handling and make a form for complaint to the supplier. Digitally, a Spare Parts Inventory Management System was developed using Microsoft Power Apps, enabling real-time stock monitoring, automated alerts, and faster spare part requests. After implementation, OEE improved from 75.36% to 81.90%, and availability increased from 76.94% to 83.62%. This research demonstrates that combining technical upgrades with digital tools can significantly reduce unplanned downtime and enhance production efficiency.

Abstract

Abstract[Bio-Supply Chain Optimization: an Integrated Renewable Energy Supply Chain System as The Implementation of Phytoplankton-Based Biodiesel]The growing demand for renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources has driven the use of renewable fuels such as phytoplankton-based fuels as alternative fuels for the future. This study aims to examine an integrated and optimized bio-supply chain model to support the production of phytoplankton-based biodiesel in Indonesia. A qualitative-descriptive approach was employed through literature review and conceptual analysis, focusing on the development of a sustainable and efficient supply chain system relevant to national conditions. Biomass supply chain management and optimization were analyzed using a hierarchical decision-making framework at three levels: strategic, tactical, and operational. At the strategic level, long-term decisions include the selection of supply chain configurations, allocation of phytoplankton resources, investment in processing infrastructure, and production capacity planning. The results indicate that applying strategic decisions across all stages of the biomass supply chain significantly enhances overall system efficiency. A case study involving the selection of Teluk Penyu as the cultivation site, the application of a mixotrophic cultivation system, and the use of floating photobioreactor (PBR) technology illustrates key strategic choices that support productivity and sustainability in phytoplankton-based biodiesel production. These findings provide a foundational framework for developing an integrated bio-supply chain system in the renewable energy sector. Keywords: bio-supply chain; phytoplankton; biodiesel
