Abstract

Value Stream Mapping (VSM) telah menjadi alat ukur kinerja penting di berbagai industri, namun penelitian tren penggunaannya terbaru minim. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren VSM terhadap publikasi yang terindeks Scopus dalam 5 tahun terakhir (2019-2024) menggunakan analisis bibliometrik. Data dianalisis menggunakan VOSviewer dan Pivot Table. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 528 artikel yang dipublikasikan dalam 149 jurnal selama 5 tahun terakhir, negara dengan jumlah penelitian VSM paling produktif adalah Indonesia, serta jurnal yang paling banyak menerbitkan artikel VSM adalah Sustainability Switzerland. Analisis VOSviewer menunjukkan 6 kluster penulis dan 5 kluster kata kunci. "Sustainable Development" dan "Decision Making" teridentifikasi sebagai kata kunci terkini dengan kemunculan dan kekuatan tautan total paling besar. Celah penelitian yang teridentifikasi antara lain Menghubungkan VSM dengan Sustainable Manufacturing dan Sustainable Development, Menghubungkan Agile Manufacturing Systems dengan Smart Manufacturing, dan Menerapkan VSM dengan kata kunci terkini lainnya seperti Risk Assessment, Lean Six Sigma, Health Care, Construction Industry, Smart Manufacturing, Machine Learning, dan Lean Production. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran komprehensif tentang perkembangan penggunaan VSM untuk pengukuran kinerja dan mengidentifikasi peluang penelitian baru di bidang ini. [Value Stream Mapping as an Analysis Tool in Lean Manufacturing: Bibliometric Analysis] Value Stream Mapping (VSM) has become an important performance measurement tool in various industries, but research on the latest trends in its use is minimal. Therefore, this study aims to analyze VSM trends towards Scopus-indexed publications in the last 5 years (2019-2024) using bibliometric analysis. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer and Pivot Table. The findings showed that there were 528 articles published in 149 journals over the last 5 years, the country with the most productive VSM research was Indonesia, and the journal that published the most VSM articles was Sustainability Switzerland. VOSviewer analysis showed 6 author clusters and 5 keyword clusters. "Sustainable Development" and "Decision Making" were identified as the current keywords with the greatest occurrence and total link strength. Research gaps identified include Linking VSM with Sustainable Manufacturing and Sustainable Development, Linking Agile Manufacturing Systems with Smart Manufacturing, and Applying VSM with other current keywords such as Risk Assessment, Lean Six Sigma, Health Care, Construction Industry, Smart Manufacturing, Machine Learning, and Lean Production. Abstract

This study investigates the role of user experience and task type on Human-Computer Trust in the ChatGPT system. The method used in this research is an experiment where respondents are asked to do mathematics, descriptive, translation, and programming tasks on the ChatGPT application. After completing each task given, respondents were asked to fill out the trust questionnaire that had been prepared. Respondents in this study were divided into two categories: novice and expert. The total number of respondents in this study was 32 respondents. The result of this research is that the level of user experience significantly influences human-computer trust in the ChatGPT application in Task 1, Task 2, Task 3, and Task 4. However, there is no significant influence from differences in the types of tasks on human-computer trust in the ChatGPT application.

Abstract

The growing competition among coffee shops demands effective strategies, including the development of optimal pricing. An optimal pricing strategy must account for both changes in coffee ingredients and consumers' willingness to pay (WTP). This study investigated the factors influencing consumers' WTP and determined optimal prices through sensory evaluations of iced coffee. This study explored how demographic factors and sensory characteristics affect consumer WTP. This study involved direct consumer tastings, where participants provided subjective ratings of iced coffee and indicated their WTP. The coffee samples included variations in milk (white and black coffee) and sugar content (granulated sugar, palm sugar, and no sugar). To measure WTP, the Becker-DeGroot-Marschak (BDM) mechanism was employed, while a demand function was used to determine the optimal price. Stepwise backward logistic regression further analyzed the factors affecting WTP. The factors influencing willingness to pay were further analyzed using stepwise backward logistic regression. The findings reveal that optimal pricing varies, with iced coffee that includes both granulated sugar and milk commanding the highest WTP. Consumer WTP is significantly influenced by factors such as gender, frequency of coffee consumption, and individual taste preferences. There was a marked difference in WTP based on the amount of milk and sugar added, with coffee variations containing both granulated sugar and milk achieving the highest WTP. These results can serve as a valuable reference for coffee shops, helping them to determine the ideal product composition and pricing strategies to maximize revenue.

Abstract

Persaingan ketat di sektor Industri telah memaksa setiap perusahaan untuk berinovasi pada produknya. Sebagai salah satu hasil penelitian dan pengembangan di sektor industri, prototipe memainkan peran untuk mendukung terciptanya inovasi produk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memodelkan dampak belanja, jumlah personil, skema jenis kerjasama litbang dan skala industri terhadap status penciptaan prototipe dalam lingkup industri. Analisis dilakukan pada data hasil Survei Litbang Industri Indonesia tahun 2021 melalui regresi logistik. Adapun regresi yang dilakukan menggunakan stepwise untuk menghasilkan model dengan variabel yang memiliki tingkat signifikansi terbaik. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa jumlah personil litbang, skala industri, kerjasama SDM dengan institusi asing dan kerjasama pendanaan dengan pemerintah pusat menjadi faktor yang signifikan dalam menghasilkan luaran prototipe. Industri skala menengah cenderung lebih banyak menghasilkan prototipe jika dibandingkan skala besar. Adapun kerjasama pendanaan dari Pemerintah Pusat merupakan aspek yang memiliki signifikansi paling tinggi dalam mempengaruhi luaran prototipe. Investasi SDM litbang yang kompeten bisa menjadi solusi untuk mengantisipasi kecilnya nilai odds ratio pada variabel jumlah SDM litbang. Selain itu, otoritas yang berwenang perlu terus meningkatkan ekosistem pendanaan riset industri yang lebih baik. [Logistic Regression Model of Prototype Creation as an Output of Industrial R&D Activities] Intense competition has forced every company to innovate its products. As one of the research and development outputs in the industrial sector, prototypes play a role to support the creation of product innovation. The purpose of this study is to model the impact of expenditure, number of personnel, type of R&D cooperation scheme and industry scale on the status of prototype creation in the industrial scope. The analysis was carried out on the data from the Indonesian Industrial R&D Survey 2021 through logistic regression. The regression was carried out using stepwise to produce the best model. The results stated that the number of R&D personnel, industry scale, HR cooperation with foreign institutions and funding cooperation with the central government were significant factors in producing prototype output. Medium-scale industries tend to produce more prototypes than large-scale ones. Funding cooperation from the central government is the aspect that has the highest significance in influencing prototype output. Investment in competent R&D human resources can be a solution to anticipate the small value of the odds ratio on the variable number of R&D human resources. In addition, the competent authority needs to continue to improve a better industrial research funding ecosystem.Keywords: industrial R&D; prototypes; R&D expenditure; R&D personnel; R&D cooperation; R&D resources

Abstract

Electric vehicles are a type of vehicle that is driven by an electric motor powered by a battery. Electric vehicles are gaining popularity worldwide due to increasing environmental awareness and various benefits such as reduced dependence on fossil fuels and being considered an efficient and sustainable mode of transportation. This research presents a comprehensive overview and bibliometric analysis of published studies related to consumer adoption/purchase intentions of electric vehicles (EVs) from 2014 to 2024. The Scopus database was used to extract the papers as it is considered the largest database of peer-reviewed academic publications colleagues. VOS Viewer software was used for bibliometric analysis of networks between authors, institutions, countries, publications, journals, and keyword occurrences. The research was conducted on March 23, 2024, which resulted in a total of 154 documents after exclusion using selected keywords. These findings show a sizable increase in publications regarding intentions to adopt electric vehicles over the past six years. China is the world leader in this research field, providing the maximum number of papers. Sustainability Switzerland Journal stands out as the most productive journal with the most publications. This analysis will help academics better understand historical trends, current challenges, and future research topics in the area of electric vehicle adoption/purchase intentions.

Abstract

The poor and hazardous work conditions of small businesses are prevalent, including the Indonesian small food-producing businesses. Observations have been commonly used to examine and describe the work conditions, although with some limitations. Despite the seemingly useful application, the ILO-PATRIS and its IPR calculation have not been used to observe the work conditions of Indonesian small food-producing businesses. This study aimed to demonstrate the applicability and usefulness of ILO-PATRIS, as an instrument to observe the working conditions of  Indonesian small food-producing businesses. A small business of tempe chips was purposively selected, with three respondents involved in the scoring of the ILO-PATRIS monitoring items. The results indicated relatively poor working conditions with ILO-PATRIS score of 30 out of 58. The IPR calculations led to the understanding that several aspects could be improved, such as the personal protective equipment and physical environment. This study demonstrated that the ILO-PATRIS and its IPR calculation are useful in observing the working conditions of an Indonesian small food-producing business. However, some recommendations of the use should be considered, which may be investigated in further studies.

Abstract

The implementation of Six Sigma methodology has demonstrated significant effectiveness in enhancing quality and reducing defects in manufacturing processes. This study examines the application of Six Sigma principles to minimize defects in automotive cylinder block production. Employing the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework, the research identifies critical factors contributing to defects and implements strategic improvements to address quality issues. The Define phase established key elements related to quality products, including processes, suppliers, customers, and their requirements, utilizing SIPOC diagrams and Critical to Quality (CTQ) factors. In the Measure phase, data collection focused on determining process baselines and root causes, employing Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) and Control Charts. Analysis revealed a DPMO value of 4,987 with a sigma level of 4.077σ. The Analyze phase identified causes of production process failures, with "Sunakui" (sand hole) emerging as the predominant defect type in cylinder block production. The study concluded that unsuitable sand composition was the root cause leading to defects. To address this issue, the research recommends implementing a Poka-Yoke system with an integrated alarm to monitor and ensure appropriate sand composition, thereby enhancing overall product quality.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan pada industri air minum dalam kemasan mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Peningkatan pada industri air minum dalam kemasan dipengaruhi oleh tingginya permintaan akan produk air minum bersih. PT X pada studi kasus ini mengalami fluktuasi permintaan yang diakibatkan tingginya persaingan antara industri sejenis. Oleh karena itu PT X pada studi kasus ini menjalin kerja sama subkontrak dalam memenuhi permintaan. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh PT X adalah meningkatnya harga per unit saat melakukan subkontrak. Tingginya harga unit subkontrak dapat mengakibatkan tingginya biaya perencanaan produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meminimasi jumlah unit subkontrak dengan mengoptimalkan produksi internal. Model optimasi dibangun dengan fungsi tujuan linear dan fungsi pembatas non linear sebagai usulan optimasi perencanaan produksi agregat. Di samping itu, berkurangnya jumlah unit subkontrak dapat mengakibatkan tingginya produksi internal perusahaan, sehingga model usulan perlu mempertimbangkan kapasitas produksi. Usulan evaluasi kapasitas dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan rough-cut capacity planning. Berdasarkan hasil optimasi model usulan dapat menghemat biaya perencanaan produksi agregat sebesar 5% dibandingkan dengan kondisi nyata. Abstract[Optimization of Single Product Aggregrate Production Planning Considering Production Capacity] Bottled drinking water industry growth has increased significantly. The increase in the bottled drinking water industry is influenced by the high demand for clean drinking water products. PT X in this case study experienced fluctuations in demand due to high competition between similar industries. Therefore, PT X established sub-contract cooperation to fulfill demand in this case study. The problem experienced by PT X was when carrying out sub-contract cooperation. The high price per unit of sub-contracted products can result in high production planning cost. The research is conducted to minimize the number of sub-contract units while optimizing internal production. The optimization model was built with a linear objective function and a nonlinear constraint function as an optimization proposal for aggregrate production planning. Besides that, the reduced number of sub-contract units can result in high internal production for the company, therefore it is necessary to consider production capacity. The proposed capacity evaluation is conducted using a rough-cut capacity planning approach. Based on the results of the optimization of the proposed model, it can save 5% of aggregrate production planning costs compared to actual conditions.Keywords: integer nonlinear programming; production capacity; aggregrate production planning

Abstract

Prolonged length of stay (LOS) in emergency departments (EDs) negatively impacts patient care and operational efficiency. This study applies simulation modeling using ARENA software to analyze and optimize ED operations at Anna Medika General Hospital in Madura, Indonesia. Three improvement scenarios were evaluated: adding one nurse, one bed, and one general practitioner. The results show that adding a general practitioner reduced LOS significantly, from 184.64 minutes (3.08 hours) to 154.37 minutes (2.57 hours), making it the most effective intervention. However, the findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach, as standalone interventions may only address isolated bottlenecks. Combining targeted staffing increases with process optimizations provides the most sustainable improvements. This study highlights simulation’s value in evaluating operational strategies, enabling hospitals to make data-driven decisions that balance cost, resource allocation, and patient satisfaction.

Abstract

In an effort to provide a high level of service to hospitals, pharmaceutical installations are often faced with problems in monitoring and determining adequate drug supply levels to respond to demand, both from outpatient and inpatient units. Inventory control by hospital pharmacies is often carried out without being supported by accurate information systems or control methods, resulting in excess inventory levels which leads to higher inventory costs. This study aims to identify and develop an e-kanban system suitable for the scope of hospital pharmacy. E-kanban as a method of controlling inventory through a simple reliable information system is expected to minimize inventory waste that occurs. The e-kanban system coupled with the use of barcodes and portable scanners is expected to provide more accurate information on drug availability. Inventory monitoring and control is expected to be much easier, both at the time of replenishment and during periodic stock-taking. The implementation of the e-kanban system is also able to eliminate waste, card use and manual recording activities, replaced by the use of simpler two-bin containers. The e-kanban system can also be integrated into the existing Hospital Information System, without disrupting the running system.
