Abstract

Membaca merupakan suatu aktivitas yang memerlukan konsentrasi tinggi untuk mencapai pemahaman maksimal.  Dalam penelitian ini penulis merumuskan masalah bagaimana kecepatan membaca mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia dan bagaimana hasil pemahaman terhadap bacaannya.Sebagai upaya untuk mencapai tujuan membaca, beragam teknik membaca dapat dilakukan. Salah satu teknik yang membutuhkan tingkat keterampilan lebih adalah teknik membaca cepat. Teknik tersebut menuntut tingkat kecepatan tertentu dalam membaca, tanpa menghilangkan tujuan utama membaca, yaitu memahami makna kata dalam bacaan.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif serta teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah melalui metode observasi, tes, dan pemahaman isi. Teknik pengolahan data menggunakan analisis uji beda. Kata Kunci: Membaca cepat, pemahaman bacaan.

Abstract

Eka Nurhidayat English Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and EducationUniversity of Majalengkaekanurhidayat16@gmail.com  ABSTRACT Debate is one of the methods which can be applied in class activity, especially in speaking class. It can improve the speaking ability of students by making group in discussion material given. The advantage of this method is doing together in learning activity, and demands students to give the strong arguments and also defend them. The use of British parliamentary debate style can improve students speaking skills and also requires students to express ideas in English. The aim of the research is to find out whether using British Parliamentary debate style can improve students’ speaking skills. The writer uses Classroom Action Research. The aim of Classroom Action Research is to improve the educational context in which the research is being carried out by using new technique. The subject of the research is taken from students debating community of LP3I Course Center Kalitanjung Cirebon. In the end of the paper, the writer tries to analyze the data as the result from individual score, observation sheet, and interview. Besides that, the researcher observes students through some questioner. After those steps, finally the writer finds that the use of British parliamentary debate style can improve students’ speaking skills. Keywords: Speaking, Debate method, British parliamentary debate style

Abstract

The success of learning is much influenced by the extent to which the students are involved in teaching and learning process. Many students fail to reach the goal of the English teaching. They are not able to communicate with the language either orally or in written form although they have learned English for many years. It call to the lecturer to find the appropriate teaching strategy. The field of this research is teaching speaking. Furthermore, this research focuses only on the observing and analyzing data about applying Role - Play strategy in the speaking class; to find out the effectiveness of Role - Play strategy and to find out students response toward applying this strategy. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The Classroom Action Research consists of four phases those are: Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. The subject of this research is PBI I - A students of English Department. In collecting the data, this research uses observation, questionnaire, and test. Based on the research findings, it can be said that using role play strategy is success since the criteria of success were achieved. The criterion of action success is 75% of students could achieve the target score. It can be concluded that Role - Play strategy is effective and students response toward applying this strategy are good and enthusiasts. Keywords: Role Play, Speaking and Teaching speaking

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi faktual mengenai pengaruh dan perbedaan antara metode latihan piramid dan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada dan kekuatan otot dada. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest design. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu atlet binaraga Jawa Barat berjumlah 20 orang, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purvosive sampling, sampel sebanyak 8 orang kemudian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu yang menggunakan metode latihan piramid sebanyak 4 orang dan piramid terbalik 4 orang. Waktu penelitian selama satu bulan setengah, jumlah latihan 16 kali pertemuan, dengan frekuensi latihan tiga kali seminggu di beberapa fitness center di Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan meteran pita dan skinfold calliper untuk mengukur hipertropi otot dada dan tes bench press untuk mengukur kekuatan otot dada. Hasil temuan penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada. (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada. (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot dada. (4) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot dada. (5) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara metode latihan piramid dan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada dan kekuatan otot dada. Diharapkan kedepannya dilakukan penelitian untuk peningkatan hipertrofi otot dan kekuatan otot dengan metode latihan piramid dan piramid terbalik terhadap jenis otot yang lain serta penelitian lebih dari satu bulan setengah dengan sampel yang lebih banyak dan lebih terkontrol. Kata kunci: Hipertrofi Otot, Kekuatan Otot, Latihan Beban, Metode Latihan Piramid, dan Metode Latihan Piramid Terbalik

Abstract

Muchamad IshakPendidikan Jasmani, STKIP Pasundan Cimahiemail: muchamadishak111@gmail.com ABSTRACTLearning approach is knowledge about how to teach that is used by the teacher and the instructor. In Physical education, the teacher must be able to choose an effective approach and can be optimized in order to make students understand about the learning material. The writer tried to compare between game approach and conventional approach. The method that was used in this research is experiment. There were 30 students from swimming club “Kampoeng Belajar SC” that was taken as population. By using saturation sampling, that is taking a whole population as sample, as many as 30 students were taken as sample that would be divided into two groups: group A and group B. Based on data analysis the writer concluded that: 1) in group A which was given treatment game approach has significant influence towards crawl stroke swimming with t test as many as 11.11 and degree of freedom = 14 that is 2.977; 2) in group B which was given treatment conventional approach has significant influence towards crawl stroke swimming with t table as many as 3.52 and degree of freedom = 14 that is 2.977; and 3) based on the calculation of the results from group A and group B, the t table of group A is bigger that t test of group B (11.11 > 3.52). It means that game approach gives more significant result than conventional approach towards the study result of crawl stroke swimming in swimming club “Kampoeng Belajar SC”Keyword: Crawl Stroke Swimming, Game Approach

Abstract

THE LEARNING MODEL OF VOLLEYBALL UNDER SERVICE  FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AGE  RUDI ABSTRACT                The purpose of this research and development is to produce the learning model of volleyball under service for junior high school age. In addition, research and development is conducted to obtain in-depth information about the development and application of the learning model of volleyball under service for junior high school age and determine the effectiveness, efficiency and attractiveness of the model created child. This research uses development methods research & development (R & D) from Borg and Gall. Subjects in research and development are the students of junior high school consisting of 60 children.               The Instruments that used in this research and development is a questionnaire, as well as the instrument volleyball service test that used to collect the volleyball under service data for junior high school age. as for the stages in research and development are: (1) analysis of needs, (2) the expert evaluation (initial product evaluation); (3) limited trial (small group testing); and (4) the main trial (field testing). The effectiveness model test used under service test to know the level of volleyball under service ability for junior high school age before giving treatment such as under service model that developed and to determine the under service ability after treatment or under service treatment that developed, from the initial tests were conducted obtained the student under service level are 3956, then after being given treatment in the form of under service model. The student under service obtained the ability level are 5572. Accordingly this volleyball under service mode is effective to raise the learning model of volleyball under service for junior high school age.               Based on the results of the development can be concluded that: (1) whit the volleyball learning model under service for junior high school age can be developed and applied in physical education learning at schools (2) the volleyball learning model under service for junior high school age which have been developed, acquired evidence of this improv went is shown in the result testing data from pretest and posttest ther is significant difference between before and after the development of a model. Keywords: Development, Model, Under Service
