Abstract

The effect of Ti2+-Mn4+substitution on microwave absorption has been studied for BaFe12-2xTixMnxO19 ferrite, where x varies from 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8.Ti2+-Mn4+ ions were obtained from TiO and MnO2 precursors which were mechanically alloyed together with BaCO3 and Fe2O3 precursors. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns for sintered samples confirmed that the materials are consisted with single phase BHF structure. Unit cell volume and crystallite size was found increase with increasing x. Crystallite size for all samples below 70 nm, but the grain morphology shown that the grains is in range of 200 - 400 nm, which concluded that each grain are polycrystalline. The saturation magnetization is increases up to x = 0.4 and decrease for higher x values, while the coercivity remains decreases monotonically. These results were interpreted in terms of the site preferential occupation of Ti2+ and Mn4+ at low level substitution.These substitution revealed of enhanced reflection loss (RL) up to 25 dB forx=0.6.It suggested that the synthesized can be employed as effective microwave absorbers in various devices.

Abstract

Transmisi optik nirkabel dengan kecepatan tinggi memiliki berbagai potensi untuk aplikasi jarak pendek terutama untuk komunikasi di dalam ruangan. Tulisan ini memaparkan perbandingan kinerja transmisi FSO menggunakan beberapa variasi skema modulasi. Pengamatan unjuk kinerja terutama dilakukan menggunakan bit error rate (BER). Gangguan turbulensi atmorferik menjadi bagian dari pemodelan kanal log normal yang digunakan dalam simulasi. Modulasi dasar spasial yang digunakan adalah on-off keying sebagai teknik klasik FSO, beserta pulse position modulation yang merupakan variasi spasialnya. Menelaah penggunaan modulasi baseband untuk sistem optik, disimulasikan PSK 2, 4, 8, 16, serta QAM 4 dan 16. Simulasi dengan data ukuran kecil menghasilkan bahwa BPSK dan 4 QAM menunjukkan unjuk kerja terbaik dengan BER rata-rata sekitar 10^-3 pada kondisi gangguan sedang sampai tinggi. Sementara tingkat error pada OOK dan PPM masih di atas 10^-0.5.

Abstract

Filter will be one of the most important components of the next generation of optical communications. Micro-ring resonators have been widely studied as a potential device for dense wavelength filter due to its advantages. In this paper, a waveguide-based microring-resonator type of interleave filter is investigated. The cascade structure is applied to obtain better characteristics of filter spectra. Our calculation shows that, compared with 2-stage or 4-stage cascade, 3-stage cascaded microring resonator has better performance with pass-band width of 22 GHz, ripple ratio < 1 dB, crosstalk of -33 dB for 1×2 interleaver and -24 dB for 1×4 interleaver. Numerical calculation also clearly shows that general optical waveguide types is reasonable as microring resonator with insertion loss < 2 dB

Abstract

One consideration during the design of long range controlled electrical system is the sudden outage of a Personal Computer (PC) caused by power failure. Frequent outage can damage the components inside the PC such that the whole system could be malfunction. This can affect the cost, time, and effort required to fix the system. Usually such system is equipped with a temporary power storage or UPS (uninterruptible power supply) with a small capacity, so the PC in the system can immediately be turned off before the UPS runs out. Therefore it is necessary to design a control system that can shutdown the PC automatically within a certain range of time after the outage. The implementation of designed system has used an ATmega8L microcontroller as a controller, an optoisolator PS2505-1 as isolator for electric components from AC signal, and Visual Basic as the programming language. The system has been tested with an input voltage of 220Vrms AC signal. The test result has shown that the PC was successfully shut down within a certain time range after the input was terminated.

Abstract

COVID-19, which has become a global pandemic since March 2020, has tremendously affected human life globally. The negative impact of COVID-19 affects societies in almost all aspects. Implementing quarantine monitoring, also social distancing, and contact tracing are a series of processes that can suppress the new infected COVID-19 cases in various countries. Prior works have proposed different monitoring systems to assist the monitoring of individuals in quarantines, as well as many methods are offered for social distancing and contact tracing. These methods focus on one function to provide a reliable system. In this paper, we propose IoT-based quarantine monitoring by implementing a geofence equipped with social distancing features to offer an integrated system that provides more benefits than one system carrying one particular function. We propose a system consisting of a low cost, low complexity, and reusable wristband design and mobile apps to support the quarantine monitoring system. For the geofencing, we propose a GPS-based geofence system that was developed by taking advantage of the convenience offered by the Traccar application. Meanwhile, we add the notification for social distancing feature with adaptive distance measurement RSSI-based set up in the android application. Based on the experiment we did to validate the system, in terms of wristband-to-smartphone communication, scanning interval in smartphone and advertising interval in wristband is best to set in 7 s for both. For social distancing notification and geofence, we measure the system performance through precision, recall, accuracy, and F-measure.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini telah didesain antena hexagonal patch array yang dapat digunakan sebagai perangkat catu daya wireless. Antena hexagonal patch array ini didesain untuk menangkap gelombang radio (RF) pada frekuensi 2,4 GHz yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai antena pada Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Desain antena dilakukan menggunakan software CST Microwave studio, kemudian dilakukan pabrikasi dan pengukuran secara riil. Parameter pengujian antena hexagonal patch array meliputi return loss, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), gain, bandwidth, dan daya. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemodelan transmission line dan corporate feed line untuk pengaturan perubahan jarak antar patch antena. Perubahan variabel juga diteliti pengaruhnya terhadap parameter antena khususnya daya terima antena yang kemudian ditransmisikan ke rangkaian power harvester. Nilai parameter antena hasil simulasi menunjukkan nilai return loss adalah -33,38 dB, VSWR sebesar 1,041, gain sebesar 8,81 dBi, bandwidth adalah 0,084 GHz, daya sebesar 0,499 W (-3 dBm). Sedangkan parameter hasil pengukuran dari antena yang telah dipabrikasi adalah nilai return loss sebesar -33,21 dB, VSWR sebesar 1,048, gain sebesar 5 dBi, bandwidth adalah 0,145 GHz, daya sebesar -33 dBm.
