Abstract

Hypertension has a high prevalence in Indonesia. The prevalence of hypertension and central obesity increases with lifestyle changes. This study aims to determine the relationship of cholesterol intake and central obesity in people with hypertension based on a variety of available literature. This study uses a qualitative approach with the literature review method. This research was conducted in May 2020. Data obtained from 10 journals were tabulated and analyzed. Research subjects are men and women with hypertension. Age of the sample 18 to 90 years, most women suffer from hypertension. Only 2 journals discuss the degree of hypertension. One journal states the highest degree of hypertension (25.4%) and one journal states the highest degree of state hypertension (56.6%). Of the four journals, three journals stated that their cholesterol intake was in accordance with the recommendations (300 mg per day). The type of food source of cholesterol that was most often consumed was chicken meat and chicken eggs. Three journals mention the highest sex of central obesity where women suffer the most from central obesity. Two journals state that there is a relationship between cholesterol intake and hypertension and two journals get the opposite results. Four journals say that there is a relationship between central obesity and hypertension and one journal says otherwise. Keywords: Cholesterol intake, central obesity and hypertension

Abstract

The population growth of the elderly above 60 years has increased rapidly. In 2015, there were 901 million people aged 60 years or over, comprising 12% of the global population. Elderly in Indonesia who are in a state of malnutrition as much as 3.4%, underweight 28.3%, ideal body weight is 42.4%, overweight is 6.7% and obesity is 3.4%. Nutritional problems in the elderly arise due to wrong eating behavior, namely an imbalance between nutritional consumption and the recommended nutritional adequacy. The research objective was to determine the effect of nutritional intake on the incidence of obesity in the elderly in the working area of the Baitussalam Community Health Center, Aceh Besar District. This research is analytic observational. The number of samples was 68 elderly (34 elderly in the obese group and 34 in the non-obese group). The research variables consisted of nutritional intake and nutritional status of the elderly. The study was conducted in January 2020, the data analysis used the chi-square test with the desired confidence level of 95%. The research data are presented in tabular and textual form. From the results of statistical tests using the chi-square test, there is no effect between nutrient intake on obesity in the elderly with the p-value on energy intake = 0.726, p-value on carbohydrate intake = 0.454, p-value on protein intake = 0.445, and p-value on fat intake = 550. In conclusion, there is no relationship between energy intake, KH intake of protein intake and fat intake on obesity in the elderly. Keywords: Energy intake, carbohydrate intake, fat intake, protein intake and elderly obesity.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Geriatric patients are elderly patients with multi-diseases who are prone to malnutrition. One of the efforts to improve macronutrient intake and the length of stay for geriatric patients who are hospitalized in a hospital is the standardized nutrition care process (NCP). Objective: To determine differences in macronutrient intake and length of stay between geriatric patients with standardized NCP and geriatric patients without standardized NCP in the hospital. Method: The type of research that has been done is a quasi-experimental with post test only control group design. The subjects who had fulfilled the inclusion criteria were 36 people then divide into 2 groups, namely the standardized NCP group at RSUD Klungkung and non-standardized NCP group at RSUD Bangli. Data collection on macronutrient intake was carried out by the food weighing method, and data on length of stay was collected by medical record observation. Hypothesis testing is done by unpaired t-test and Mann-Whitney. Results: The average age of the study subjects was 70,08 years and most were in 61-69 years. Assessment of nutritional status based on MNA was obtained at 44,4% of the subjects were malnourished. The results of the unpaired t-test produced a p-value of 0,001 (p0,05) which showed that the average macronutrient intake in the standardized NCP group was significantly higher than the non-standardized NCP group. The average length of stay in the standardized NCP group (7,33 days) was shorter when compared to the non-standardized NCP (10 days). Mann-Whitney’s test produced a p-value of 0,023 (p0,05) showed that there were significant differences in the average length of stay of the two groups. Conclusions and Suggestions. The application of standardized NCP has an effect on improving macronutrient intake and length of stay in geriatric patients, so nutritionists are advised to apply the standardized NCP to geriatric patients to improve their nutritional status. Keyword: the standardized nutrition care process, macronutrient intake, length of stay

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (PTM) is still a regional and national health problem. One of the PTM that has the highest number is Diabetes Militus. Nutritional status and blood glucose levels are closely related to diabetes mellitus. The purpose of the literature review is to find out the nutritional status and blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in Wangaya District Hospital, Denpasar. The literature review design is a case study that illustrates the nutritional status and blood glucose levels of patients with diabetes mellitus. Subjects in the study were 2 patients. The nutritional status of diabetes mellitus patients is related to the blood glucose levels of diabetes mellitus patients where the higher the nutritional status, the higher or worse the blood glucose level.Keywords: diabetes mellitus, nutritional status, blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Muscle endurance is the ability of muscles to make repetitive movements over a period of time. The purpose of research is to find out about relathionship of energy consumption level and nutritional status with the muscular endurance of judo athlete in Satria Jaya Judo Club Denpasar City. Type of observational research by cross sectional design. The study sample was 58 people by the simple random sampling method. Data collected in the form of sample characteristics, muscular endurance, obtained from the results of muscle endurance 24 people (41,4%) in the excellent category and 2 people (3,4%) in the less category. From the results of energy consumption level of 27 people (46,6%) in the normal category and 5 people (8,6%) in the very poor category. From the results of nutritional status of 40 people (69,0%) in the normal category and 6 people (10,3%) in the obesity category. Pearson correlation test results showed a significant value of 0,00 0,01 that there is a significant relationship, the level of strength and direction of muscle strength with consumption. Kendall’s correlation test results showed a significant value of 0,003 0,01 that there is a significant relationship, the level of strength is quite strong and reversed between muscular endurance and nutritional status. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship of energy consumption level and nutritional status with the muscular endurance of judo athlete.Keywords: Muscular Endurance, Energy Consumption Level, Nutritional Status

Abstract

Carbohydrate consumption in the workforce will indirectly affect the nutritional status and blood glucose levels of the workforce. If someone is over consuming carbohydrates accompanied by a lack of physical activity carried out will cause central obesity. The purpose of the study was to obtain carbohydrate lunch consumption, nutritional status and blood glucose levels in the workforce at the Inaya Putri Bali Hotel, Badung. The population of this research is the back office workforce with a large sample size of 48 samples. Data collected in May 2019 using the cross sectional method by performing a recall 1 times 24 hours for workers. Data taken consists of 2 data, namely primary data and secondary data, analyzed using cross tables accompanied by narration. the results of study carbohydrate consumption in the sample of the majority of the samples were in the less category. While the nutritional status of the sample is obtained, some samples have more nutritional status based on waist circumference. Blood glucose levels in the sample showed that most of the samples had blood glucose levels in the uncertain DM category with a range of 90 - 199 mg / dl. Therefore it is expected to set the standard of food portions on labor to prevent central obesity.

Abstract

The use of purple sweet potato and kidney beans attempts to increase the efficiency and economic value of purple sweet potato and kidney beans. One of them is the diversity of processed products from purple sweet potatoes and red beans, one of the uses for purple sweet potatoes and kidney beans is added to complementary foods. Purple sweet potatoes are high in carbohydrates and beans are good for vegetable protein. The aim of this research was to see the effect of red bean flour and purple sweet potato 10%, 20%, 30% on organoleptic properties (taste, aroma, texture and color). The research used experimental design with non factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions. organoleptic test (taste, aroma, texture and color) in the Food Technology Laboratory of the Department of Nutrition, Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. There was a significant effect of adding 10%, 20% and 30% purple sweet potato red bean flour mixture to the organoleptic properties (color, taste, aroma and texture) of MP-ASI with P-value 0.05. In terms of color, panelists preferred FII treatment (20%), in terms of taste of panelists, treatment of FI (10%), in terms of aroma, panelists preferred FII treatment (20%), in terms of panelist texture, FII treatment (20%) with somewhat favorable responses. . Conclusion, the addition of 10%, 20% and 30% red bean flour and purple sweet potato has a significant effect on the organoleptic properties (color, taste, aroma and texture) of the instant MP-ASI formula.Keywords: MP-ASI, red bean flour, purple sweet potato flour

Abstract

The remaining food percentage is a simple indicator to evaluate the success of hospital nutritional services. One of the factors influencing is the level of knowledge of low salt diets and the perception of taste. The amount of food remaining will have an impact on patient nutritional status and patient recovery. Based on hospital nutritional guidelines, Standard indicator of food waste ≤ 20%. The purpose of this research is to find out about the Difference Of Patient Food Waste Based On Knowledge Levels Of Low Salt Diets And Flavor Perception At RSUD Wangaya Denpasar City. This research draft is cross sectional with a total of 62 inpatient samples. Food waste data is obtained by food weighing method. The level of knowledge of low salt diets and the perception of taste collected with questionnaires. The results of the research found that the patient's waste were classified as little is about 33 persons (53,2%), the level of knowledge is good which is about 58 persons (93,55%), and the perception of taste is in the good category which is about 56 persons (90,3%). Research results after the chi square test show no significant difference between foods waste with low salt diet knowledge levels (p=0,082). While analyzed difference food leftovers with taste perception showed (p=0,000) that means there is a significant difference.Keywords : Food Waste, Knowledge Levels of Low Salt Diets, Flavour Perception.
